- Broadcast Center Studios in NJ shot this at the 1995 WJJZ FM 106.1 Phila. Jazz Fest. It was shot with a single hand held camera and a wireless board audio feed.
Edited to look multi-camera shot.
I JUST SHOVELED SNOW IN CHI-TOWN AND WENT TO WORK ON THE NIGHT-SHIFT. DAMN BONEY J. SOUNDS SWEET ASS HONEY.AS I GET BACK HOME.
A MILLION THANKS!
Just love his music 🎶 😮 jazzy yah.
I love Boney James ! I can listen to him all night long !! I listen to his songs as I clean my place or going to work. ! I was introduce to smooth jazz when I moved from the south east to Arizona. I was flippin threw the radio stations and I heard Boney James song called, After The Rain ! I was hook'd, lines, and sunken in his songs. I'm a true believer in Smooth Jazz ! :) Thank you Boney James !
I'm the same. After the Rain is my favorite. Can listen to him 24/7.
I never knew who the artist was nor the title of the song until tonight. My neighbor sent me the link. Thank you JC!
These people are so lucky to have been there. I just love this sound..Like heaven to me...
I attended this festival. it was great ! I will always remember this beautiful day !
Boney James is awesome. I will see him in Buffalo NY in April 2011

@deregram2 Thank you Buffalo for fostering Spyro Gyra and Jay Beckenstein, the undisputed god of the sax! I think Boney is the closest thing to Jay around right now though. Just saw Spyro Gyra at the Naperville IL jazz festival, incredible!
nice Job bro
@536767676533766 dude this was made back in 1995, 15 years ago. Cameras weren't as good back then as they are now, different technology dude. Yeah, there were a couple shots inserted in this video here that were actually from other songs where it showed him playing his alto but with the audio staying the same (with him playing his tenor for this song), but it's still not "bad" because most people can't tell.
wait that doesn't make sense....nbc100, you said that this video was recorded in 1995. However, the song "After the Rain" was released on "sweet thing" in 1997
I wouldn't say that the drummer is bad I'd just say that he was all over the place
nice
I don't understand why someone picks a set of numbers for their UA-cam "name".
I guess it's just something that bugs me - no offense to you. I like the video. The
sound is very good using Sony headphones with Windows 7. If someone uses
"numbers" it seems like they are embarrassed by their opinion or their language.
I agree its not the best drum solo but you still gotta love Boney. I could listen to this song all day. Now if you want to hear a good drum solo watch Rachelle Ferrell - Waiting (live) 3/3 (its on youtube just copy and paste)
my BAD :( at any rate, he's too COOL
peace
@ratiocinativeness But Terminator 2 was made in 1992 and the quality was SUPER
And this was made in 1995 Hmmm
Ron Lawrence is on lead guitar
haha, funky!
Is there any more footage from this set in 98?
You lovey the song? What does that mean?
@saulsleeper what wierd numbers are you talking about ???
Why does it switch from alto to tenor?
lool i also noticed that he was playing an alto in one part of the vid and a tenor in the rest lool, only sax players would pick that up? lool im only joking!
that wasnt really a solo it was just a drum groove, and i personally thought it was whack, this guy wasnt repetitive, i like that in solos
@saulsleeper Hey smart boy, i want to chance my nickname to MoniDeValentini, but i don't know how.
Can you tell my that sweetheard.
In the beginning i was tested youtube that's why i used numbers darling
Who's the drumer?
he keeps switching from tenor to alto....????
what?
@saulsleeper What ever
People i just give advice for a video quality, why James Cameron can make a great movie in 1992 Terminator 2, and you not.
James Cameron is just humen and you too ?????
Love Boney but could have done without that drum solo thing.
@536767676533766 you can't compare filming live in daylight using audio-ins that come from a sound board versus studio filming where lighting, sound, and other factors are tightly monitored in a closed and controlled studio environment. why be so critical of someone else's video? geez it is what it is, being critical isn't going to fix anything lol
The camera man even got bored of the drummer
What do all these weird numbers mean? - think of a nickname and then you can't
hide behind you're untraceable comments. You'll be less robotic, too.
not putting the drummer down by any means . hes a very good drummer,, but the solo wasn't very exciting,it sounded like he was warming up or just practicing,,but hey I wasnt there so I have no i dea what the vibe was like. This song has so much "build" to it I just think it should have kept up the energy of the song and and maybe a little shorter. but again I wasnt there so I'll stfu now. ; )
Cool video, Boney is the man; however, this video is a fraud. The first shot, he's playing a tenor, then he's playing an alto. You can't fool a saxophone player,SORRY!!!
That's what I thought to. Notice the song and video don't match.
shame about the drum solo...self-indulgent & horrible.
Ian Muir I agree.
Ian Muir It sounds alright
music super good video quality f... shit amateur camera
great music but the drumming was wack
I am sorry but that had to be the weakest drum solo ever. I mean when you get that much time to yourself you gotta let it rip.
