  • This is the first lesson in the series of lessons about the Russian Cases, and in this video I am going to tell you about the Nominative Case. You are going to learn about the four main meanings, or functions, of the Nominative Case. We are also going to look at the situations where the English language and some other languages use the Objective (Accusative) Case, and the Russian language uses the Nominative Case. You are also going to learn how to identify the Nominative Case in a sentence and what the Subject of the sentence really is. We are going to look at the noun endings in Nominative and learn about the genders of nouns, their Singular and Plural forms.

    This has to be the best video in general explaining Russian Language, but why does the Туалет have to be masculine rather than neuter.....😀

    • @ARusPro

    I'm American I've been home schooled my entire life never studied English
    can the object of the sentence be the subject in English I always thought it was the pronoun or the noun that controls the verb was the subject
    (edit) that's not exactly true I studied English to learn Russian lol

    • @ARusPro
      @ARusPro  6 місяців тому

      You are right. The grammatical Subject is the noun or pronoun that controls the verb. Russian and English sentences may differ in terms of what the Subject and the Object is in a sentence. For example, let's take the English sentence "I am interested in psychology" (The pronoun 'I' is the Subject). The Russian translation will be "Меня интересует психология" ("Психология" is the Subject, "меня" is the Object; literally: "Psychology interests me").

    I can't imagine, how the girl would describe genetive endings to english speaking audience. Or the difference between genetive and accusative. It's a blow-minded thing sometimes even for native speakers😂
