I use reusable too! Yes. Please reduce any excess plastic waste…however this is not a criticism of the channel…he is amazing. More of a soap box because: A) I am actively working to reduce plastic waste B) i always end up in a fight with cling wrap, which I lose C) all of the above The answer is C
Do those work ? I am considering, getting some to save on plastic wrap, but I worry about if they'll work in tropical climate. And about keeping them clean and sanitary.
Plastic wrap is the quick and easy path, but we should really stick to using reusable options as much as we can. Plastic round deli containers are super cheap to buy in bulk and one of the best ways to store ingredients and leftovers in your kitchen, as they do in many professional kitchens. There are a few applications where plastic wrap actually is needed, but they are pretty niche. Also you will save money with reusable containers. We should apply this to paper towels as well - kitchen towels are super cheap to stock up on and will save you money in the long run
Nope. I agree. Both my sons use rags instead of paper towels almost consistently. In the kitchen, bathrooms, garage, & yard. Even in the cars for trips, for anything really. They get thrown in the laundry, washed, and because we all use white vinegar instead of fabric softener for EVERYTHING, they stay very absorbent. ❤
You can get ones that are magnetic strips you can install on your wall that are expensive and nice… or do the cheap option which ive done for years and has held out great, putting two strips of magnet tape on the side of my fridge about 1.5 inches apart from eachother and hang them from that!
The truth is, restaurants generate a lot of waste in the course of their every day business. Here in the US I’m pretty sure they’re not going to let restaurant owners use plastic bags because of hygiene reasons, especially with things like raw meat. I don’t really think it would be realistic for them to use glass containers either because of the large amounts of food they have to prepare and store.
There is literally nothing but positive content in every one of these videos that is released by you good sir. The ambience you produce inside your own kitchen and consider how other people can do it in theirs is one of the greats messages your sending out. At least that's what I'm picking up.
Out of all the short from chefs I’ve seen on here, I enjoy your content the most. Not trying to flex or over do it with ASMR or editing. Just a guy who likes to cook 🎉
Maaaaaan I used to think I was crazy for this… I switched to sparkling flavored water (that Bubly) from being a hardcore ginger ale drinker and good god… lost a ton of weight, and now love the orange and cream joint. I don’t know if they put crack in this Bubly or what, but I could never drink a soda again after having these 😂😂
@@mass_stay_tapped_in528 YES! Same here. I used to drink so much cola and Dr. Pepper but in trying to be healthy, I switched to unsweetened soda waters like Bubbly and Waterloo or AHA. Now I can't remember the last time I've had a regular soda. It's been years for sure.
Deli containers should be more commonplace in the home kitchen. More stackable than most Tupperware, they can be used as measuring cups because of their standard sizing and they make for great prep bowls for mise en place.
My grandma had a bunch of that butane fuel and I've been meaning to buy a proper kitchen torch. Did not know they existed in a compatibile style until I saw this short. Just bought one, thank you for your excellent content!
@Ginglees taking care of the planet is not about fun, but if you get a beer and listen to some big band swing, cleaning dishes can be a party. If you're not having fun, it means you need to wiggle your butt more. I use reusable silicon, and it really doesn't take much to clean.
@@Ginglees plastic is such a big problem right now and its best we try to avoid using them at all cost. Washing containers is so much better than this guy using plastic for every little thing holy sheeeet. Just use a silicon bag or containers.
Just fyi, white chocolate must have cacao butter in order for it to be called white chocolate. If the package says "white morsels/chips", look in the ingredients and make sure cacao butter is listed. If it's not, then you are probably getting vanilla-flavored morsels. The only way the label can advertise "chocolate" is if a part of the cacao bean is listed in the ingredients. Since chocolate is naturally brown and can't be dyed, the only part of the cacao bean that can be used for white chocolate is the cacao butter.
I just use stasher bags for everything they keep my veggies fresh longer than a lot of the other methods I've tried, even if the veggies are prepped. Kept an avocado a week after I had opened it

Squirt bottles, sprayer bottles, salt well, flexible dough card and a cookie sheet are some other things I would put in the “necessary extras” category that makes cooking at home easier

Same. No pretentious, wasteful nonsense
Reusable plastic baggies are great as well! I always need them and never have them.
I just use Tupperware

I keep the plastic liners of cereal boxes for freezing. Works well for a single use, but better than just throwing them away
U can also get cloth and pour melted wax over them for lil wraps to go
