I love this interview!! And yes, confidence IS everything! I wish everybody could learn to knit with the confidence of a child. I made my first sweater (with intarsia on it!) at age 12. My next sweater was all over lace, and the one after that all over cables, then fair isle. I didn't think anything of it, and never once thought this might be difficult, or I might not know how to do it, or it might not work out. Without knowing anything about gauge, choosing the right yarn or needles, I just took it all for granted. :D And miraculously the sweaters turned out and I wore them for years! I wish I could give all beginning knitters that same confidence. It's going to work out, and even if it doesn't--who cares? It's just knitting!
Bronwyn "Wonder Woman" aka CasaPINKa amazing! Love love love getting to know you! The Canyon Road (Acoma) Sweater is wonderful, yes I bought the pattern (thank you for putting it back on Rav.). I have the yarn in those colors and I can't wait for the happiness to begin!!! I've made the Goldfish Memories Stole and the name was perfect, what a fun knit. When you go back to being a Doctor don't forget to design more knits for your every growing loving fan club ;-) Kristy thank you so much for opening up our world to the wonderful people of making. God Bless you both! (p.s. Nothing happens that doesn't have a reason behind it and one of the reasons for it is to make a path to a better future you didn't know you wanted or needed. So says Me a Stage 3 Cancer SURVIVOR! )
One of your best interviews! I'm watching it again. You two, together, is perfection. You should do more videos together. I feel the same way about you and Hoda (aka CeCe)......perfect pairings!
I loved this interview! I have been a fan of her designs for a long time. I also love the talk about being moms of teenagers. I have two myself (16 yr old boy and 14 yr old girl), so I can relate! Lots of prayin' goin' on here! Not kidding! Thanks ladies for a lovely episode!
Thank you so much for this amazing interview! it was so comforting to hear about how knitting can inspire knitters with health problems to rise above them.
Thank you so so much for the yarn and pen! I can't believe I won. Went away for a few days and came home to a party in my mailbox. Love, love, love your podcast!
Great to learn more about CasaPinka and her knitting journey! Thank you for the giveaway opportunity ! Off to stash-shop for yarns for the All Points South - such as great design!
What a fun interview! I discovered Bronwyn this past December on Insta with her daily giveaways - the Crown Wools caught my eye first - and I (omg!!!) won a hat pattern (Ice Bunny Hat), which I, am now reminded, and NEED to make. Love Casapinka's Insta - gorgeous patterns, photos and a wicked sense of humor.
Great interview...it must be great to be smart AND creative! I love Casapinka designs and have yarn ready for Mrs Blandings. I love my Goldfish Memory and my Rainbow Warrior...and Zomboni....and you get the idea! I have many more patterns in my library with yarns chosen for them..just need the time to knit hem all 😂💗
Great interview! I love Casapinka designs. I will wait until the Acoma and Sari are available again before I shop for the other designs of Bronwyn's that I love. I believe her heart was in the right place when naming them.
OMG were kindred spirits! My first knit was a striped baby sweater, I didn’t know you had to carry up the yarn so I clipped hundreds of ends! What do you do with these ends - you braid them! 😀 I made it for my Aunt and she loved it, 37 years later she still has it! My second knit was a full fair isle sweater, my first class ever and my teacher asked how I learned to knit, I said out of a book - apparently I saw it backwards but she set me straight! Thanks Kristy!
I love her sense of humor...look up her Ravelry-store...there are a lot of beautiful patterns but when I saw the cat with a kind of leg warmers...my Gosh...I can't stop laughing...I love her...
I think -Bronwyn- is such a beautiful name . . I've knitted Loop . . and I would love to knit so many other of her shawls: Dot Shawl, Isabelita, Rainbow Warrior . . etc!!! It's always so fun to learn more about a designer whose patterns I love so much.
Enjoyed this interview so much! Also, appreciated the notes about cultural appropriation. This is what I hope we are all striving for--know better, do better--and grow!
I'm not sure it would work with MCATS. Those are full of a bunch of tedious things that have zero to do with medicine! EM boards are are just so different. Once you get through MCATs the information finally gets interesting so hang in there!
@kristyglassknits oh thank you dear Kristy!! I found it night by going through all your video listings! 📹 🙌🏼 I'm so glad I found your channel again! It's been like 6 years!! Sooo much has gone on.. Just getting back to my casapinka Sari Not Sari scarf and needed help with starting again and that's how I found your awesome interview with her! So excited to catch up with your phenomenal channel again! You are TRULY a gorgeous light in our world 🌎 and so ✨️ delightful!! Wondrous JOY to you and your family!
You two have chemistry and should podcast together Your love of pink is fun. Please sell Acoma again and don't change the name. Our country was built on freedom of beliefs and choice and we all need to accept this and enjoy what other cultures have to offer.
Please, I feel your pain! I NEVER get anything with my name on it either; at least not in the US. My name is NEVER pronounced properly either...LOL! Gotta' go home to Canada or elsewhere; to get my name pronounced properly & see it on things. :-D
Great interview! Such originality! I have knitted one of her patterns (for my grand cat-haha-I promise not to tag it). Love that giveaway, and I’m a wonderful Patreon, like, your best one! AND my husband is an ER doc! Unite!
Hahaha, I love that you have a grand-cat! Tell your husband I think we should leave needles and yarn in the waiting room of all the EDs (if there wasn't the problem of people weaponizing them for the long waits...)
She is so fun!! I want another interview with her, I could listen to you two talk for days its so natural and fun!

Omg can you talk about studying and knitting? I’m studying for the MCAT right now and if I could marry the two I think I might get a 528 😂

My cat's a maniac, maniac on the floor (I sure know)

Casapinka yes, I can picture the scene: I’m in the waiting room teaching them to knit and they turn on me and I die from multiple stab wounds. Ha!
Fun interview
