    LOVE the Bruhonka!
    I always keep a lighter for frozen door locks. Just heat up the key and hit the lock for a second and it should warm it up enough to work...
    Another tip is for trailered vehicles in really cold weather is to have an exhaust hose extension to run under the towed vehicle to warm up the engine bay. RV dump hoses that collapse and extend are perfect!

    Used to use these Buhanka for work all across Mongolia in the late 90s. The UN and Mining company guys had Landcruisers and used to annoy us by speeding past. They got there in 4 hours to our 8... Still preferred our ride... lie back on the sacks and watch the steppe roll by at leisure...

    A few comments:
    Glad you all brought Frank!
    Does the Buhanka have old gas in it - maybe that's why it's not starting very well?
    When David mentioned he'd feel more comfortable in the Buhanka I noticed Andre didn't offer to trade...
    Nice counterpoint with David fiddling with the shock settings on the Ram while Andre was rattling around the inside of the Buhanka riding on old wagon suspension...
    TFL should do a suspension upgrade project on the Buhanka - give it a control arm coil spring suspension like a modern Wrangler has. Collab with Fox for some nice shocks for it.

    I've been waiting for this and it's a great production. The vistas are breath taking. Kudos to Andre, David and Alex. Looking forward to the next part. By the way, the Russian way to start a vehicle in the cold is to build a wood fire under the engine to warm the crankcase and battery. Like a good smoker, they use the coals not the flames which will burn things (to the ground).

    This is one fun video to watch! Great job Andrey, David, and Alex, but my favorite scenes are those showing Frank helping David look out over the hood of that Ram. LOL Honorable mention goes to the many different grimaces of Andrey bouncing and jouncing along in that Buhanka. I think we may have seen why overlanders haven't been lining up to import Buhankas. ;-)

    I've been waiting for this video. I felt it when Andre said "I can't believe I'm driving my van through downtown Moab on my way to an off road trail. I'm living my dream." I felt that last weekend driving through a creek in my JLU in a convoy of 20 jeeps. It's what I bought it for.

  • @RJ-vc2ju
    @RJ-vc2ju Рік тому +2

    Andre, awesome episode and I love the simplicity of the Buhanka. Quick note though, the Ram has only picked up about 2 inches of actual ground clearance as measured to the bottom of the pumpkin. With independent suspension, a lift will gain you actual ground clearance at the expense of CV angles and durability. With solid axles, actual ground clearance comes from increased tire size only due to the pumpkin. You did gain approach, departure, and breaker angles though.

A few ideas I’d throw out are Kilmat the heck out of the van for sound deadening and some insulation. The route you all took a stock Ram 2500 can do easily, but it was a enjoyable video nonetheless. I have even seen a stock wrangler with a stock Taxa Outdoors Cricket do the route you all did (as I was with them). For the most part, the Overland builds people do are all excessive and none of them actually need to be that built up. It’s more of a looks cool and people enjoy doing it. But I mean it’s part of the fun of it.
