Your closing reminds of something I read: "The good Lord put me here to do certain things. At the rate I'm going, I'll live forever." Beautiful instruments. I'm very eager to hear them.
Mr. LaDue, would you please consider doing a video about bridge/saddle locating for proper intonation ? Your perspective on building guitars is refreshing, thank you. Please keep up the good work.
I'm still looking forward to hearing them... I've got about five that I've been piddling with since 2021. Its about time for me to get in gear or just quit.
@@thepragmaticluthier Thanks for the encouragement. 👍🙂 There is a lot of ideas I would like to try out yet.. Just need to find the motivation to get after it. I'm going on 75 years and built just over 100 instruments.
If you are interested, I'd be delighted if you were to do a video on finishing. Also, when you say you finished these guitars with laquer, do you mean nitrocellulose?
I use nitrocellulose lacquer by Mohawk. I like your suggestion regarding a video on finishing, but I've been reluctant because there is a lot off expertise out there. I might embarrass myself?
I have a couple choices with binding apparatus. One the tower with the router riding up and down, the other is a hand held device that I built. Neither is a panacea.
Yes, but you're making progress. Long story short, I'm on my third build and because of a router accident I'm in the process of replacing the top of a guitar that was about 85% done.
I've never tried any deciduous wood for top bracing. My theory is that the density and weight of a hardwood brace may inhibit transmission of kinetic energy around the top and would have a marked tendency to ward high frequency and limited sustain. Rosie Haydenrych of Turnstone guitars has done a lot with hardwood braces. She may be willing to share what she knows with you.
@thepragmaticluthier yeah I looked up the janga ratings it's a bit higher than sitka spruce, however does the braces on the back and rim stiffeners have to be similar to sitka?

Thank you. i expect that they will be done by the end of June.
They all look amazing. I'm liking the neck handles. Very good ways to take advantage of the threaded insert already in place.
A beautiful bodies. I love the dark binding and lighter tops. The necks are really nice!
no shiny guitars here either!.....satin or matt definitely the way to go....love your work !
Beautiful 🎶✨
Great Luther ❤

Barring further delay, difficult at this time of year, I expect to have them complete by the end of June?
alright, see ya in 20
@thepragmaticluthier would silver maple be an acceptable alternative for bracing ?
