I do 130q with rift beam and its possible to do 12.40 solo hc. I think theyre preparing smt for the new 210 dungeon it would be gilded skies 2 but 10 times harder
In my point of view, they're both pretty balanced if we really look at the little details we can see that both of them deal the same damage and have pros and cons. Let's start with comparing rift beam with kunai knives/spinning blade smash, let's say Rift beam deals 120Q per cycle and Kunai knives/Spinning blade smash deals 80Q per cycle. Now we need to pay attention that every cycle of rift beam takes 9 second cooldown before you can use it again and you still need to time it correctly with your eif to have that 90% extra damage, That's like 240Q Damage if 2 cycle of rift beam which takes 18 seconds. Now let's compare it with the war spells, Kunai knives/spinning blade smash deals 80Q per cycle with 6 seconds cooldown, 3 cycle with war spells deals the same 240Q damage with the same 18 seconds cooldown in total.
Now the pros and cons, Let's start with mage spells
1.Void dragon:
Pros: Longer range, Burst damage
Cons: Narrow aoe, Slow, basically not recommended for normal mobs.
2. Rift beam:
Pros: Longer range,Deals more damage
Cons: Longer cooldown, Narrow aoe, 32 ticks (you can't deal burst damage to mobs especially the 2nd boss), you have to perfect time it with eif, also not recommended for normal mobs.
War Spells
1. Kunai knives
Pros: slightly wider aoe
Cons: 3 ticks, slightly shorter range, not recommended for mobs
2. Spinning Blade Smash
Pros: Burst damage, Wider Aoe (really wide), Perfect for normal mobs (i can eliminate 2 group of mobs in 1 cycle)
Cons: Shorter range (really short)
So overall they're perfectly balanced in my point of view but the problem is mage got overhyped/glazed too much
P.S: i can beat the dungeon as a war with 12 minutes on the timer so i can beat the dungeon in just 3 minutes
I think you forgot to add that void drag can take out bosses without pulling agro

Give eif or eir, rare collects, rare legs, etc to an ALT and tell ppl you randomly got these and ask if it's good. If they are honest then you carry them or smth

I think the mage spells for mage are unusable and only minorly helpful in specific parts of the dungeon/ The war spells are kinda usable but I can at least hit all the mobs

To be completely honest u kinda choked on 2 places with the mage gear. My personal slowest time is 11:35 solo yp as a mage while having way worse gear.
pots, didn't matter, why? i have gotten 11:58 with 30.5 helm and 29.98. it's just rng and spell usage. the main thing that hurts my eyes is using gs skill for pre hit on tatsu, that's just time waste of around 10 seconds, i use ice barrage(not always with eir) and then 2 cycle boss anyway. i think you didn't do many solo speedruns so that is why you lack such skills in your inventory
Yeah i do the same trick i hit tatsu with blade barrage (without eir) and then 2 cycle with kunai knives. It's way faster cuz when you hit tatsu with blade barrage without eir, tatsu won't fly away thus making it faster to kill him. p.s: i can finish the dungeon as a war with 12 minutes on the timer
