A magnificent piece of music for sure! I was part of a performance of this beautiful piece in college in 1978 and I still remember every note.. Thank you for sharing!
DIETRICH BUXTEHUDE { BAD OLDESLOE , HOLSTEIN 1637~1707 LUBECK } ~ MAGNIFICAT ~.
A new approach for this piece. While the music sounds to be played on period instrument, the tempi are all the same and don't change according to the meaning of the words as it's supposed to be in baroque. It's almost a half-way romantic version and to slow in my opinion BUT still pleasant to hear.
I once was in a piece called Buxtehude's Requiem. Did Buxtehude write such a piece? If so, I'm interested in obtaining more information and possibly a score. Thanks.
Hi, I dont't think Buxtehude wrote a réquiem, which, by definition, is a Catholic mass, and this composer was Lutheran. However he could have wrote músic for funerals.
Oughtn't "rock'n'roll" be re-defined - perhaps to drop the efforts (or dross) of the Beatles &c and to incorporate works as great as this composition and performance? In that scheme of things, Bo Diddley would be as magnificent as D Buxtehude, or vice-versa. And there's nothing wrong with that, is there?

Moi également dans le pupitre ténor du choeur alternance de Challans....
Ça remonte à une décennie mais je me souviens de presque toutes phrases...
A very interesting performance of a hard to find piece. A delight and a wonderful find. Thank you.
This wonderful piece of music is a blend of Early German Baroque and French Ceremonial Music.
Beautifull !
Only and lout or a boor could fail to be moved by this piece.

Lovely relaxed (non-rushed) tempos. One can actually savor and appreciate the music and text. 👍❤️
QUE BELLEZA DE OBRA 🎉🎉🎉
One of the beautiful Magnificat ever written!
Amen, blew me away, both work and performance. Just was listening to another performance, and was inferior. This is INSPIRED!
Super 😊
What a beautiful piece of music. So seldom heard.
Was Buxtehude largely eclipsed by Bach, whom he influenced?
Heavenly!!!
DESDE ESPAÑA ,DISFRITE MUCHO CANTANDOLA DE CONTRAALTO 🎉🎉🎉
Lik Peter Elem I cam across this composition early. Who'd despair of the human spirit and imagination after hearing this!
The choir I.K. Zevenmaal Hardenberg NL, sings Buxtehude in a concert at 07-03-2015
A képek egy másik koncert szólistáit mutatják. Ugyan melyiket? Máté-passió lehetett?
nice music

Marvelous rendition. Just lovely. So what if its a little flat. Id like to see you do any better. tanx.
Fell asleep to this... Sounds like something they'd play in a seventeenth century church just to play something for the morning prayer.
If one put this as background music while browsing, the ambience turns very sad.
Siete la chiesa in vaci utca
No mag-na. No mag-nificat.
It's ecclesiastic latin and "gn" sounds like the spanish tilde.
It's rather flat, in all senses.

Oh my, how dreadfully boring...what a snore!
