Dobermans are amazing dogs. Mine was around 5 when we got her from the humane society, she's 13 or so now and still has a lot of spunk, and is just an amazing dog. I love how excited she gets every day when I get home from work.
My Dane passed away 3 years ago had Boxers in the past im old now single not in good shape my first dobie almost 5 months old Euro line 100% he's going to be my compaion protection with out any training and loyalty is there already !!!

The Doberman is the only dog I will have! I had other breads but the Doberman is the best of them all! They are the smartest and most eager to learn. Even as a puppy they are very attentive and always sharp. But most of all they become part of the family. You never own a Doberman, you Adopt a Doberman or should I say they adopt you. They are very loving and must be part of the family.
Bull Terriers and Bostons used to always have their ears cropped, but now have naturally standing ears. I personally don't mind the natural ears on Dobies, but all of mine, including the rescues, have had cropped ears. The cropped Dobies are so used to having their ears worked with, it's never a problem to keep them cleaned. Some of my friends with other breeds of rescues have to call me over to clean their dogs' ears because of lack of early training.
Dobermans are OP. And by that I mean Overwhelmingly Pretty. Is it even fair to have them in a competition?! XD I mean does it get any better? XD Man I just love Dobermans.
With all the people complaining about the Docking and Cropping, Most of the time the owners don't even do it. It's The Breeders of the dog who do it. There's not much the owners can do. I have a Red Rust Doberman With only a docked tail, but he has his ears floppy. It was the breeder who did it's tail. yes, doing Cropping and Docking is bad and cruel, but Just calm yourselves. Gee..
Ik lots of people say cropping is cruel, dont get me wrong its not the best decision, however, its hoe the breed origionated. Mr. Dobermann wanted the breed to look tough and cropping/ docking is how its done. Plus they dont just snip the ears they gove them painkillers and put them to sleep when they do the procedure. Im just trying to say that cropping isnt as bad as everyone says...

Cynthia Crowley i got a whippet too, recently got a doberman, they're so awesome dogs. So different from the whippet tho, so it was kinda chocking to own a dobie cuz the whippet just sleeps under a blanket all day long(but a perfect running companion) and on the other hand doberman pup is going crazy 24/7😂 but i got used to it, he has settled down now but still energetic like a crazy person. Its kinda sad that they ban cropping, they look so much better cropped. Said it before and saying it again tree huggers can piss off!! Im gettin my dobies cropped n docked.
I prefer the Euro working bloodlines, but have a big red US red boy as a companion now. I wanted the softer temperament. He sure does have his skin issues, tho. Feed him raw, grain free kibble, coconut oil and fish oil. I had 2 fawns from Euro boodlines (sired by my German Wunderhund Bingo von Ellendonk grandson boy) and they had absolutely no skin issues.
i agree, trust me i know they have really REALLY bad time i own a wonderful dobbie and he had really bad time... i was all the time with him taking care of him and was well stressing cause he cries a lot he was a puppy ... and i cant imagine myself suffering that but he looks just PERFECT with his ears cropped... i mean i was really responsable like u say! we were always with him and taking good care of him... is a shame in here is not allowed to do it anymore...

Denise Mangold American Dobermans are just sad. They bred the "guarding ability" out of a dog that was create for that specific purpose. European Dobermans are the perfect example of what a Doberman is supposed to be.

A lot of European Dobermann breeders here in America agree with what you are saying. The American Dobie was bred away from aggression and reduced in size, still an excellent companion though. Wouldn't you agree?

Have had no other breed since 1975. I love Dobies no matter what background they come from. They are intelligent clowns, but can protect you when they have to. Prefer the Euro working bloodlines, tho. Many breeders mix the 2 in the US and have beautiful Dobies capable of working. Check out the United Doberman Club.

If you are planning on using a Doberman for shows, get their ears cropped and tails docked if that’s what’s needed. Pet dobies don’t need it. While not cruel, or inhumane, it severely limits their social abilities.

She is a handler. Most US breeders opt to hire a handler. They may handle many different dogs/bitches during a show. They travel around the US with many clients' dogs in huge RVs. It's not an inexpensive "sport."
I have been competing with my dobies for years in both Conformation, Obedience and Schtzhund. The purpose of Conformation is not to "prance" around a ring. It determines how closely they come to the breed standard. If they prove themselves in Conformation as worthy breeding stock, this is an indicator that they are capable of performing the job for which they were bred. Form = Function. The Obedience and Schutzhund titles would follow. He must have titles on both ends of his name. I have never run into an issue competing and placing titles on dogs in AKC, UKC or Schutzhund with any good show lines. Those of us who are passionate about this breed are concerned with form, health, temperament and working ability! One does not trump the other. All are equally important.

That isn't true, doberman's with cropped ears do benefit from less ear infections (I speak from personal experience). There isn't substantial evidence, but all that really means is nobody has really cared to create a controlled study of this.
she is good looking but she look so short to me. maybe we do not have the same standards in different country, here this will not be a best in show. (or maybe the handler is over 6feet tall and the dog look really short by her side i dunno) and for the cropped VS natural ears, he vets believe in cropping and they have new techniques like laser cut. if cropping was bad to the dogs, i dont think they will invest in that.
Funny people qualify my doberman as American doberman because he is tall and slim. When i look at European dob they look mixed with a bulldog or i dunno, their chest are so large and weird. I guess all taste are in the nature, for me my dog is the more beautiful on the planet :P :
the european is much more ike the real dober , the US is creating their own ook of a dober the last decennia ..they were meant to look mean and scare people ... maybe educate yourself about a dober

If you want to get a Dobie's ears cropped, be responsible about who does it. If it's done by an experienced vet, there should not be a problem. It's a matter of personal preference IMO and should be the owner's business. Now if people cannot appreciate these beautiful dogs (cropped ears or not), they should stay the eff off YT. Just sayin'.

We had ours when he was 6 months and had him for almost 13 years. He developed wobblers syndrome 😢and we put him down. I keep his collar in my room.

I don't know about you but this dog was a bit too small for my liking, Dobermans should be a bit bigger.
she is good looking but she look so short to me. maybe we do not have the same standards in different country, here this will not be a best in show. (or maybe the handler is over 6feet tall and the dog look really short by her side i dunno)
and for the cropped VS natural ears, he vets believe in cropping and they have new techniques like laser cut. if cropping was bad to the dogs, i dont think they will invest in that.

Funny people qualify my doberman as American doberman because he is tall and slim. When i look at European dob they look mixed with a bulldog or i dunno, their chest are so large and weird. I guess all taste are in the nature, for me my dog is the more beautiful on the planet :P

the european is much more ike the real dober , the US is creating their own ook of a dober the last decennia ..they were meant to look mean and scare people ... maybe educate yourself about a dober

@Eira943 I could not agree with you more...some people get really self-righteous about what people should or should not do with their dogs. If you want to get a Dobie's ears cropped, be responsible about who does it. If it's done by an experienced vet, there should not be a problem. It's a matter of personal preference IMO and should be the owner's business. Now if people cannot appreciate these beautiful dogs (cropped ears or not), they should stay the eff off YT. Just sayin'.
