At 77 I had a pacemaker. I was blacking out. Replaced last Dec. after 9 years. It was done locally. Only took 6hours from start to finish. Love it! Got my life back. My Dad had a pacemaker at77. He had 15 years with 1 battery change. He lived to be 92.

Im 43. Had one for 3 weeks now. No pain, no regrets. I feel alot better now actually. I guess they are not for everybody, but it's perfect for me so far. I had heart failure with 15 percent ejection fraction. Now my heart functions the way is supposed to. I'm not gonna die too soon now. I get my life back.

I am 68 years old and was told that I might need one 8 years ago. My symptoms go as far back as my childhood. I never said anything because from what I see if you don’t show blood they assume you are lying.
      I’m giving this some thought.

Im getting a dual chamber in three days. Uneasy about someone messing around with my heart. But because of symptoms from Afib at 229 and bradycardia down to the 30-40s, i feel like a yo-yo. Cause is SSS. Im hoping all goes well and I can get my life back. Stay safe all. May 26, I've had my pacemaker for almost a week. No more lows, been running 70-100. At times running a little bit high but I was already told they might have to tweek it. At this time, no more symptoms!!! Now I'm just hoping for no more SVT or AF. Stay safe and take care of yourself!

Ive noticed the more the battery runs down the more fatigue i have.. I am so looking forward to getting a new battery so I can get back to feeling energetic and healthy again…

I got my ICD almost 3 years ago and I'm still worthless. My battery tests good but I'm constantly dizzy and tired. I can sleep non-stop. I'll be 60 this December, and if it weren't for the congestive heart failure I believe I'd feel like I wasn't a day over 30. I've done manual labor all of my working life and I have come to an abrupt stop. The only thing that keeps me going is my grandkids. Other than this fact, I guess I'd just rather check out. Good luck to you Susan, I wish many more prosperous and healthy years to you.

Total bs, I went through 4 of them in 3 years. Never worked right, 5 -10 battery crapped out in 5 months. End up with 5 set of wires in my heart. In my experience, screw the high tech stay with the simple basic models. And just take your time and pace yourself. Brace yourself for being dizzy and move slower. As for shock fences stay away from those and big old chainsaws. Those old sparky kind.or anything the sparks. And God Bless You my Friends, its going to be a ruff road ahead.

I’m 68 years old and retired to Colombia. I’ve had symptoms since childhood. It was extremely difficult hiding my problem. I’m just now coming to terms with my problem. I don’t know if it is worth the procedure at my age? Half the people say no pain and half talk about the different pains. A fraction tell about dead batteries.

My father was also operated with a pacemaker 6 years 10 months ago, he was actually doing very well that we couldn't even have a thought that something would happen to him , but he died 9 days ago in a blink of eye
Actually he could have been saved , but there was no one around him , so we couldn't save him . If my father was much more careful , he would live for 3 more years .
we are in a generation with advanced sciences and technology , and that my father did get to do something really worth for his weakest heart , and increased his lifespan for about 7 years
I truly blame my father for not being responsible for him, if it's not for him, he could have been alive for more 3 years
I feel like they have given my dad another life just by their mechanism from a very weak heart to permanent pacemaker
