Holy shit the Japanese WW2 boot project still lives! I assumed it had quietly died upon realising how difficult it would be to start up production today...
I started watching quite a while ago, and you know you made once other channels start using your footage for their videos and quote it as a trusted source. I mean even the Iron Snail has done it and I started watching that channel because of you.
This channel is the reason why i know how to choose leather when shopping, saved me thousands, made my life easier too! Congrats for the 1Mill, hoping for many more destruction videos!
You have single-handedly increased the sales of the best bootmakers you've covered. Be proud of that accomplishment. You are widening the audience of those that appreciate and seek out quality crafted footwear. I am among them. Thank you.
Sir, you are the one who got me into this amazing world of leather and footwear. I would not have the small collection of boots and a fascination with this craft if not for your expertise and videos. I watch your videos with my wife and 3 girls and they all love it too. Thank-you! You deserve every good thing that comes your way.😁
I really like how you’ve included the skate scene in your videos. Every time I’ve tried to find a review of a skate shoe, it’s always been so superficial. But you and Sam have done an amazing job analyzing those kinds of shoes from both a materials and a skater’s perspective. Well-deserved 1M subs
Have you cut apart a hand-welted Indonesian boot before? I would love to see a pair of jakkrabbits, specifically. Just keeping with the idea of the channel being a resource, jakkrabbits are a very accessible Indonesian brand, something a lot of us could actually buy, and this gives us a deeper look at what exactly we're buying. They have such a good website in comparison to the other handmade Indonesian brands and cheaper than something like sagara. I don't want to sound like an advertisement, but I really do think it's a pretty special brand, maybe the easiest entry point into custom handmade boots. And I know hand-welted is a little different from a goodyear welt, so it could be a good video to cover something different
I have their monkeyboots in black chamois. They look so clean and wear beautifully. My only complaint is my lower calves/upper ankles hate to be secured too tightly and when the sweat and leather interact it leaves the area irritated. But that's a me problem
Congrats, Weston and Rose Anvil team! Well-deserved milestone. Got myself an Iron Ranger because of your channel, and ordered my first pair of kilties from Rose Anvil, too.
Congrats! Your channel single-handedly sparked my love of heritage footwear and leather goods. Never in my life was I someone who would look at a boot and think “wow that looks really good” before I started watching your channel.
There are a lot of people who value your input on shoes and boots. But, the main reason is you, Weston. You make entertaining videos. I have several boots based on your video's. Rose Anvil 2 will get bigger as well to. More big success on your channel from cold St Paul.....Always wanted to see Viberg boots cut apart. Would also like to see you do a 6 inch boot collab with someone.
Congrats on hitting a million subscribers. I remember my frustration in 2022 when my new work boots started falling apart after 3 months only to have the next pair die on me after 4 months. A coworker suggested that I look into Rose Anvil on youtube, which I did that evening. Your channel was a complete eye opener for me and really helped me to see why quality and construction matters in a very tangible way. Now two years and 20 new boots later, I've become a member of BA (Boot Anonymous). But seriously, I love my boots and can pick out a good boot just by handling it. Even my beater boots are great (Golden Fox and Jim Green)...they are tough, long lasting and comfortable. I will not buy low quality footwear again, heck, even my wardrobe has vastly improved. Your channel has led me to other awesome boot/menswear youtubers, cobblers and even leather makers. This is such a great community. By the way, please come to the next Stitchdown Bootcamp in NYC next October, you will see many familiar faces in the industry and most everyone will recognize you and wish you a hardy greeting. Plus there are a ton of bootmakers from around the country.
I’ve been following the main channel since the Fjallraven backpack video. I remember when Westin would cut shoes in half with the curved-blade knife and dissect them panel by panel. I can’t believe it’s hit 1M subscribers. Time to aim for 2.5M!
Been here for a hot minute now, but the only collaboration I've ever actually had the dough to jump on was the Jim Green rugged African troopers that dropped recently. Got into good footwear because of you and your team, and my back thanks you.
Been watching since 2021, congrats! You really changed the way I think about shoe/boots and leather goods and my appreciation for craftsmanship in those things
I've been watching since March of 2020! I was laid off from my desk job due to covid and I eventually convinced myself to buy a pair of nicks because of your videos lol. Still got them, still love them! Thanks for everything.
It's all about you, Weston. Coming along with you on this journey of discovery into the footwear business has been a revelation. So much good out there, and yet ... We are still assaulted by bad designs using inferior materials at unjustifiable prices. Thanks to what I have learned on your channel, I am a much more confident footwear shopper. It's kinda fun to go into big retailers and look over their selection of fashionable but poorly constructed shoes and especially boots lacking in quality. Thank You for all you have done, and will continue to do for the industry. Happy Holidays to all... and I want a pair of those new WWII replicas...
Congratulations Weston. One million people is crazy. I think you’re truly doing good beyond providing info. Your channel made me decide to commit to buying clothing products that are made to last, with less plastic, by people doing what they love. I think spreading that idea is good for the world. Thanks, and keep rolling!
Congrats!! Please do a video on the Nike C1ty which replaced your favorite shoe from last year, the Nike GPS. Would love to see how the quality compares
Keep up the good work before I started watching I had no idea about boots and what makes a good boot. Using this resource I have now bought some quality boots my feet have never been so happy!
Congrats guys! you’s have been at it a while and making better and better content consistently. Super happy for all you at Rose anvil. Weston you’re the man!
Rose anvil truly is one of a kind here on youtube. However I do wish weston would do some more recaps on boots and how they held up over a period of time. Im aware its not really possible with the amount of boot reviews but one can wish.
Congratulations! I’ve been watching for around 1.5 years and learned so much from you guys! One of my favorite channels to watch, my gf even enjoys y’all! For the shoes you guys should do track spikes (Hopefully the Nike airzoom ones for sprints and Lj). Also please make more blood core stuff! I’d love to buy a small lanyard or one of your western belts in it!
Have you considered doing some longer form videos discussing the history or either specific boots, or different boot designs / styles? I don't know anything about the Japanese WW2 boot, but I would love to learn more about the original. What made it special? What did the people who wore it have to say about it? Was it a successful boot? Stuff like that, I think it would be fun to watch something like that.
Many of these boots are big investments or critical tools to make you living and while many give their impression of the boots only a couple of these boot companies actually dissect them and show a cross section. Thank you.
As soon as he mentioned JerryRigEverything my first thought was they should swap channels for a video. I want to see Zac pull apart and bend test a boot and then I want to see a phone sent through the band saw so we can see the layers. Also, it just occurred to me they both do a burn test in every video 😮
Congratulations x. I'd really like to see paraboot michael, also maybe the kleman padror the paraboot alternative. I'd actually like to see the walking boot by paraboot too.
You should cut a pair of Brant Footwear minimalist shoes. And if you don't do it for the 1,000,000 you should do it another time because they are the best minimalist shoes on the market.
You should really cut some cheap goodyear-welted boots like Rock Can Roll from Aliexpress, Urban Wolf Club from Mexico and some Indian company like BLKBRD and see how good they are and if there is a decent budget option out there for normal people to get started with quality boots.
Urban Shepard Country/Scout for a boot to cut (Though it probably could just be a review as they are beautiful but V reasonably priced @€250ish(includes tax @21%) though they have a 15% off sale at the moment.) They look awesome, Oiled portugese leather, Stacked Leather heel, handmade and goodyear welted.
This channel is a great repository of information, and has affected my buying decisions multiple times (for the better). Thanks for the work you do! Btw, I have a pair leather converse star player 76 luxe (I think) sneakers that I've had and worn since since 2007ish, and am getting rid of. The leather quality is surprisingly good (for sneakers), and I have a bit of an attachment to them after so many years, so I don't want to just throw them in the trash. I was wondering if you would be interested in having them sent to you to cut in half, for a comparison between current converse star player sneakers and past construction. If you're interested let me know how I can ship them to you.
It's expensive but cutting a pair of air yeezy 2's would be nice. I think the upper is unique and i wanna see if it's constructed the same as the others or has unique things about it.

@roseanvil2 will there be width options on the Japanese boot?
Let's see Trickers boots and other UK/Euro bootmakers
Holy shit the Japanese WW2 boot project still lives! I assumed it had quietly died upon realising how difficult it would be to start up production today...
Y'all deserve it. You have changed the game and helped so many of us learn where our money is going. Cheers!
I started watching quite a while ago, and you know you made once other channels start using your footage for their videos and quote it as a trusted source. I mean even the Iron Snail has done it and I started watching that channel because of you.
Yes!!! WW II Japanese boot!!!! I’ve been waiting!!!! Those are sick!!!
Same here! Years in the making but finally here!
This channel is the reason why i know how to choose leather when shopping, saved me thousands, made my life easier too! Congrats for the 1Mill, hoping for many more destruction videos!

Same, I got into boots coz of him and own genuine pairs of Soviet kirza boots, Vietnam jungle boots, and African Rangers because of his videos
Cut open one of a John lobb, Crockett & Jones, Cheney shoe. That'd be really cool

I'm one of those people that kept commenting about those Japanese ww2 boots. Can't wait to see how the collab turns out!
Same here man!
Would love to see a cutting comparison of traditional hiking boots: Paraboot Avoriaz vs. Diemme Roccia vs. Hanwag Bergler vs. Danner mountain trail

Cool! Congratulations on your success! I subscribed years ago and you deserve you deserve the success.
Cheers 🍻 from Milwaukee.

Yesss. Got the nd3 and I have the drifter 3s and ND4s coming. Best collaborations in the business.
Received my Drifter3s a week+ ago and wearing them daily to break them in. Still waiting for the ND4s.
Been here for a hot minute now, but the only collaboration I've ever actually had the dough to jump on was the Jim Green rugged African troopers that dropped recently. Got into good footwear because of you and your team, and my back thanks you.

BEEN WAITING YEARS SINCE IT WAS ANNOUNCED OMG IM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats guys!

Congrats on such well earned success!! Love all the work you've put into your videos and I can't wait to see what you do in the future!
Congratulations Weston! I enjoy both channels. I especially love the Russell Moccasins episodes.
Congrats on the milly!
*Road to Blood Bison Bearslayers 😈
congrats brother! well deserved this channel provides a lot of important information
Congratulations, well merited. The Japanese boot looks great, so lean and stripped down looking.
Coal mining boots are beasts!
Brands like Matterhorn are worth looking into.
Been here since that Doc Marten video and it's awesome seeing you succeeding. Your videos have been so helpful when I shoe shop, so thank you.
Congratulations! I’ve been watching for around 1.5 years and learned so much from you guys! One of my favorite channels to watch, my gf even enjoys y’all! You should do the Balenciaga 10 XL sneakers
Have you considered doing some longer form videos discussing the history or either specific boots, or different boot designs / styles? Congratulations, I really like watching your channel. I would love to see you cut a Crispi boot in half. They are super popular in my area.
From cutting soles with the knife to a band saw to a million subs cool journey I had the pleasure of watching
Many of these boots are big investments or critical tools to make you living and while many give their impression of the boots only a couple of these boot companies actually dissect them and show a cross section. Thank you.
How about a Creosote Nail Shank? So many boot heads would be appalled that you would cut that up lol
He'll do a review on them when they've finished the MTO process in 4 years 😂
@ 😂😂😂
Congrats! What a journey!!!
Recommend a Blood leather Bear Slayers boots collab. Congrats and thank you for bringing me into the boot world!
Gotta do Parkhurst, especially their stitchdown boots! It's one of the last popular American heritage boot brands remaining
Congratulations! I love that Toaster made an appearance in this video. Is he a Cornish Rex?
✂️ Cut the N1B Canvas Air Force Mukluk! Congratulations! 💐
Thank you, you really do great job! you deserve to be best worldwide even with more channels and more brand to cut..
I’d love to see Steger Mukluks, maybe not as part of 1M subscribers. But they are a unique boot/shoe for winter and handmade in USA!
I’d love to see Rose Anvil start dissecting formal shoe ware the same way y’all do boots and sneakers
Congrats Weston!
As soon as he mentioned JerryRigEverything my first thought was they should swap channels for a video. I want to see Zac pull apart and bend test a boot and then I want to see a phone sent through the band saw so we can see the layers.
Also, it just occurred to me they both do a burn test in every video 😮
Congrats man!!!
I bought my red wings moc toes solely because of you guys. Great work!
Congratulations 🎉🍾🥂🎆🎇🎊🎉🎈
Congratulations x. I'd really like to see paraboot michael, also maybe the kleman padror the paraboot alternative. I'd actually like to see the walking boot by paraboot too.
You have to cut Air Mags!! Way better than the Red October’s
1,000,000 sheeeesh 😅 congrats bro
Congrats man!
Seeing you cut open different snowboard boots would be cool
Red Wing changed the sole construction on the new Beckman, it needs to be cut!
10:34 yup!
,crazy i been watching since like 120k
Viberg Service boot,
Viberg Sneaker,
Viberg Slip-on
Louis Vuitton X Nike Suede and a coated canvas.
Viberg doesn’t even make work boots or do resoles anymore. They just make $2000 “city boots” for tech bros. Lame company.
Congrats!!! 🎆🎉🍻
You should cut a pair of Brant Footwear minimalist shoes. And if you don't do it for the 1,000,000 you should do it another time because they are the best minimalist shoes on the market.
Its funny how when you said any shoe. My first thought was a pair of Nike Yeezys and you immediately go with Red Octobers 😂
You should really cut some cheap goodyear-welted boots like Rock Can Roll from Aliexpress, Urban Wolf Club from Mexico and some Indian company like BLKBRD and see how good they are and if there is a decent budget option out there for normal people to get started with quality boots.
Cut in half the Nike Back to the Future Boot / Shoe.
When are you going to have some laces back in stock?
Urban Shepard Country/Scout for a boot to cut
(Though it probably could just be a review as they are beautiful but V reasonably priced @€250ish(includes tax @21%) though they have a 15% off sale at the moment.)
They look awesome, Oiled portugese leather, Stacked Leather heel, handmade and goodyear welted.
Do the Tricker's Stow. Best boot ever.
Best part in the video is to see Toaster 😊
Keep it up, we like what you’re doing!
I’d like to see some “Red Bottoms” cut open!
They can’t be worth the hype
Speaking of Japanese, a Tabi style boot or shoe collab though.
This channel is a great repository of information, and has affected my buying decisions multiple times (for the better). Thanks for the work you do!

Congrats on your continued success! ❤️🇺🇸👊🏼
Need you to do a collab to make some legit jump boots again too! None of this thin painted leather bs out there on the market.
do more composite toe work boots as they are the most widely required boot imo.
It's expensive but cutting a pair of air yeezy 2's would be nice. I think the upper is unique and i wanna see if it's constructed the same as the others or has unique things about it.
Do ya’ll have a local pick up option? I work/live down the road from your shop and feel silly to ship something a 1/2 mile lol.
thanks, keep it coming. but one day i need reimbursement for the boots you make me buy , :)
I curious of your thoughts on a boot I came across around 2 months ago. “Silverado” Lumberjack.
You need to cut in half the ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz. Iirc they're in the Smithsonian in DC.
Hello! Please cut Santoni or Bogner shoes. These are popular but expensive bots in EU so maybe it'll be interesting for many viewers.
I would wear those ww2 boots everyday
I know you're into casual boots and sneakers but reviewing a few formal shoes might be interesting.
Congratulations
Are the Koio x Rose Anvil white sneakers going to be offered in Wide sizes?
Saaaaaaweeeet!!! HI TOASTER!!!
You look very similar to Theodor or Reed Thompson from Snowfall!!
To celebrate 1m subscribers can you release a collab of a well built Indy boot?
👏👏👏
Cut some Clinch or Role Club lol
Lofgrens.. Trickers.. Frank's.. Kreosote! 😆🤑
Fact check the Thursday Black Labels
