It sounds all fun and games having such an adorable creature, but they can be little fluffy monsters! Like this video if you agree!I
Playtime is one of my favorite topics! LIKE this video if you give you chinchillas playtime!
My chinchillas always spend their time either scared or on a mission to escape and don't get me started on them trying to chew kick board trim!
Anyways, I want to know all about your experiences with playtime! COMMENT BELOW all of your experiences good or bad and if anyone has any stellar setups, tell me all about!
Thank you so much for watching! Make sure to download your FREE CHINCHILLA CARE GUIDE in the link below!

Cute video! 💜 Rabbits are odorless too! (Rabbits are also lagomorphs not rodents.) Rabbits groom themselves like cats. The smell usually associated with rabbits is actually their pee, poop, and cecotropes.

I LOVE my chinchillas!! They are sisters and are a pair. I agree with the mess with the hay!!!!! However, I found the guineadad hay and it sounds weird but it is so clean!! Also give lots of love and playtime and they hop out of their cage and into my hands. ❤️

Such an informative video! Rats and ferrets are usually odorless as well, if your ferret is smelling you’re bathing it to often, a ferret should only be bathed like 2 times a YEAR during shedding seasons, and rats should NEVER be bathed if they smell it’s usually because their cage isn’t clean or they peed in one of their beds which means it’s probably time for a spot clean :) hope this was helpful!

I am really really wanting to get a Chinchilla but quickly discovered during research it’s best to house two together. So I am investing in a two story cage/enclosure and I already have a play pen similar to that you have shown in the video. I also am doing tons and tons of research, along with making sure we also purchase a window air conditioner where they will be. As I live in California, and we have a swamp cooler and so we’re investing in an air conditioner.

    • @ChinVillain
      @ChinVillain  3 роки тому +4

Sounds like you are doing everything you can for your new furbabies. Hopefully I can give you some tips. Chinchillas can be housed alone as long as you give them enough attention. However, if you decide to get two chinchillas, I would suggested getting an already bonded pair or contacting the breeder and asking them to bond them for you! It will be a lot less stressful for you as there is no guarantee that they will successfully bond up. Also, if you do decide on two, make sure that if there is a problem that they can be separated. I would also say that since you are in a warmer climate, I would get the ac unit and make sure that you can get a room under 72 degrees Fahrenheit as chinchillas are very sensitive to temperature. Please let me know if you have any questions at all that I can help you with!

A friend of mine had a chinchilla and just by jumping from shelf to shelf in the cage, poop would go flying everywhere because there would be poop on the shelves. That would be the only negative thing I would say about chins. Except they are too cute!

i’m thinking about getting a chinchilla and mess has never been an issue with me my bunnies can be the worst sometimes but it always ends up being worth it in the long one ( my bunnies are also free roam so sometimes i walk into my room and there’s a mess all over my floor ) 😭😭😭

    PLEEEZE HELP!!! 🙏
I got 2 sister chinchillas, 3 days ago. One seems to be adjusting pretty well, so far.
But her sister has me worried.
    I have 3 concerns...😟
    1. How can tell if she is eating and drinking water or not?
    2. How can I teel if they are getting along or not? The reason I ask is that they were always together, but today they are separated.
    3. How can I make her feel happy and not so scared? She constantly stays in the hut and always scurries when I enter the room. And her ears are folded down, as if she is depressed.
    😥
I would appreciate any and all advice. 🙇‍♂
    Thank you

Well idk how your cage is set up but answer to 1st question: pay attention to how much food, hay water you give her to see if she eating it if she is pooping and peeing a lot then she is eating fine.
Second question: female chins are the aggressive ones males are more chill females are super territorial so if you want to check if they get along grab one female get her close to the other female to see how she reacts if she throws her pee at her then no they won’t get along but if u want them to get along the way I do it is put them in a pet carrier bag together take them for a 30 min car ride once the ride is over they should be able to get along.
Question 3: all chins males and females get scared when anyone walks past them they are pray animals so they are super cautious
They are active during night and sleep and tired during day
A way to cheer them up treats and dust baths and play with them.

I have to chinchillas, one I call my “little piggie” because she is a pink white chinchilla, so it looks like she has a pig nose! Plus she always finds a way to find some form of treat. 😂 I admit she is a big chunky.
My other chinchilla I call “The Bebe” because she is smaller then the other, and she acts more baby-ish
We highly suspect she has some mental issues because she seems a bit delayed and she has had multiple seizures randomly, and got super sick out of the blue. But it doesn’t hold her back! (Plus Little Piggie is always by her side ❤)

Got 2 males, 10 months old. Still need to modify their ramps and shelter, replacing them with wooden ones. Waiting for orders to arrive. Have to devote 10-15 minutes à day to clean their cage and the surroundings. Sometimes they can empty the whole hay without eating it. After few days they got used to their environment and don't cry or become scared at my presence. Ineed to get them to a vet for a first checkup because they sold them to me cheaply (both for 120 euro) but without receipt or medical card, so I have to issue a new one. I have both AC and dehumidifier fortunately.

My bf and I have a chin and he learned how to push his water bottle out of the cage until we finally moved it and he can't anymore. We also think he's a hoarder now cause a bunch of his chew toys were around and in his house and my bf moved them all to give him space, but then he gathered them all up again immediately.

Do you want one more. Mine is not odorless...the entire room is stinky :( If I clean his cage it lasts for two days max. He's so cute but I'm about to have a baby and being sensitive to smells was horrible. So I can't have him in the same room where the baby is going to be....this is difficult.
I did replace two Internet cables because he chewed them up twice lol

Please take that awful water bottle out of the cage and get a water bowl
These water bottles are bad for them and other animals
They don't get so much water out of them at once, their posture isn't natural at all and they look awful
SURE you can have more space with them and the water doesn't get dirty
But they are NOT GOOD PLEASE

    • @ChinVillain
      @ChinVillain  3 роки тому +9

Adding a water bowl is unsafe for a chinchilla as they can tip the bowl over or fall into the bowl and get wet. It is very dangerous for a chinchilla to get wet as their fur is very dense which makes it harder for chinchillas to dry. This extra moisture that gets trapped under their fur can cause fugus or infection. As a water bowl may be a better option for other rodent species, I would suggest using a glass water bottle for chinchillas as you do not run the risk of them getting wet. In addition, chinchillas are native to desert-like environments and will generally get most of their water from their food, however in captivity their food is dried which means we must offer a water source but they generally do not need a lot of water.
