A lovely part of England. One doesn't need to go to Italy when you have such beautiful places at your doorstep. Prior Park is simply beautiful under the blue summer sky. Everything so green and bright. That picture of the magnificent piece of architecture which is the Palladian Bridge is picture-postcard perfect. We are honoured to have a Prior Park School in Gibraltar.😊
hi, steve. i had a close friend that lived in bristol for about ten years and i got in the habit of visiting every summer. loved to go spend a day in bath walking around! it's been a while now since i've been so this was a nice stroll down memory lane for me. so green and lush! i live in las vegas (yes, that las vegas) so green and lush are two things i rarely see here. looking forward to more of these, cheers
i've never been to the united kingdom but i remember always reading about bath in jane austen's novels, and i had this idea of it in my head that stuck around. it's really relaxing and pleasant to see the everyday parts of it, what the buildings actually look like, the ponds -- it's such a beautiful town!! i see how there's all these places open to pedestrians -- i wish there was an equivalent place somewhere near me in the midwest, i'd love to live there. everything over here is dominated by cars and roads, you can't hear anything above the din of the highways... it feels like there's not a lot of space for human beings to exist, but in bath i can see the care that's been put into maintaining these parks and public spaces! thank you for sharing this mr. andrews, i really value the work you put in to showing us the wonders of your worlds both natural and science-fictional
Man, I should have thought of that! But 'walking' is a key search word for travel videos....but I've never tried bookselling in the outdoors, would love to...
Hi and thanks for joining me. Here's the first video on my new channel- please like, comment and subscribe- and if you are of a literary bent, visit my established YT channel 'Outlaw Bookseller'. Cheers!🙂
I am here for all the walking, strolling, sauntering, jaunts, hikes and roams. All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. -Tolkien
Blake's "And did those feet in ancient time" comes to mind here, his closing line; "In England's clean and pleasant land". Stroke of genius creating this subgenre, OB. I hope you include more of your running narrative in subsequent posts, your impromptu as-you-walk musings are a big part of the appeal. I subscribed, of course! Cheers.
Thanks Rick- yes, I often think of Blake when walking in England. There will be a longer version of this video on Outlaw Bookseller next week, with an additional five minutes of cultural chat from yours truly and more visuals of course!
It'[s not bad. Funnily enough I watched some vids from Saundersfoot the other day. I've not been there for almost thirty years and I holidayed in Wiseman's Bridge around 1974!
@@WalkingBooksellerOriginal It hasn't changed much really. I remember you saying about your holidays Wiseman's. The tunnels are blocked now by a landslide because of all the rain earlier in the year.
There is a longer version of this video coming up in a few days on my usual channel, Outlaw Bookseller, in which I talk about Foxx as I know him a little- he spends a lot of time in Bath.
Subscribed. Really excited to be here at the start of your new channel. For me, living on the (at times) horribly busy Bundesallee in Berlin, you provide some much needed - and very much appreciated - escapism. Like with all of your Out & About videos over at the Outlaw Bookseller channel, this one was a real joy to watch. Many thanks, Steve, as always, and good luck with this new venture.
Great ! I do love the walk around/ about . And the SF/F tie ins and referances . At the risk of being cheesy and to paraphrase CS Lewis...." there is felt a sense of deep longing " . Thank you .
You should. You can get a bus from town, it stops directly outside the gates, get there before ten and get in before everyone else. Pat has said you and she should do it.
I was lucky enough to be able to teach for a semester at the University of Westminster in London, and I took as many tours as I could and one those was to Bath. Unfortunately, all I was able to see were the roman baths (of course) and then I was able to walk around for about a half an hour. Not near enough time to see what you are showing here. That Palladian bridge is incredible! So beautiful! I really like the concept of these videos and can't wait to see more. Just out of curiosity, what kind of mount are using to film these? It is really smooth!
Thanks. Hope you've subscribed, I hope to be uploading about once a week and there may be some alternate edits/archive stuff porting over here from the other channel.
Nice debut video Steve. I love Bath. Were you familiar with Nick Cudworth’s work? I have a couple of his books. He sadly passed a couple of years ago but his gallery on London St is being run by his children. Keyboard player with the band Siren, of course.
Hello, I’ve come over from your other channel and I quite enjoyed this. I offer some well intentioned feedback, I preferred the ambient sounds of the environment to the music (no disrespect intended). I also thought your commentary was great. I subscribed and will be watching.
Thanks- there will be a longer version (by a good 5 mins) on Outlaw Bookseller early next week with more commentary and yours truly on camera. There are already some similar videos on the other channel of course.
And will the new video show you drinking a nice pint of real ale rather than Spanish lager ? Hope so. But seriously, an interesting video showing breathtaking scenery and all that lovely greenery. We moan about all the rain and believe me I've done plenty of moaning this last week, but without it this greenery just wouldn't be the same. Btw, I'd be interested to know whether you made a journey to the Persephone bookshop which is a usual haunt for the book loving Bath visitor ? I seem to recall seeing on one of your older vids what looked like a Persephone dust wrapper on a shelf.
@@ElfGoblin There are a few minutes in Persephone in one of my very early videos but even though it's not far from me, I don't visit it much as it's really their publishing office and showcase and they never seem that keen on male customers in my experience- I see all their books in my shop anyway and the fact they don't arrange their stock A-Z by author drives me nuts....
4K walking tours with thoughful camera work. Subscrib'd, cobbah! I was in Bath in October 2000 on the way to meet Ramsey Campbell at a film festival in Leeds which was showing an adaptation of his THE NAMELESS.

Beautiful . A nice relaxing video. Well done to the grounds staff. Not a speck of litter or even a fallen leaf anywhere.
Yes, it's amazingly well managed, I thought. As I think I said in the video, I hadn't been there for years and it is much improved.
I joined you here on this lovely Walkabout
Beautiful!
You do live in a stunning part of the world
What a beautiful day and walk. I could walk that every day in any weather… Hope that doggy had an owner…
Absolutely wonderful! I hope you do many more of these videos. The beauty of the landscape speaks for itself.
Next video will be monday night, thanks for watching!
Beautiful! That bridge is evocative….
It's been restored so well.
Another winnign video
Thanks again!

Omg! I know you've already named the channel but imagine the synchronous power of the ** "Outdoor Bookseller."**
Bravo!

I really enjoy the walkabouts. Living in Saunderfoot there's some wonderful coastline but Bath looks amazing.

Prior Park looks stunning.
It's been managed really well in recent years, it has to be said!

A very relaxing video, especially without the usual tourist crowds. Wonderful to spend some time with your walkabout.
Thanks Dan. Videos without crowds are my speciality!
I am the type of person to rent one of those narrowboats and live on it for a month. If / when I make it back across the pond
What I love about your videos is how you find the beauty in places minus people. Wishing you all the best in your new channel. Subscribed.
Good editing and getting up early in the morning are the keys to uncluttered beauty hot spots. Thanks Richard.
Lovely Steve I’ll be watching 👍🏻
