    Hi. I'm doing a South East Asia trip in a few months and Vietnam is on the list. One of the main things I'm worried about is getting food poisoning (FP). I got FP in El Salvador and let's just say, I'm glad I got it when I was heading home. It took me about a month for my body to fully recover. You brought up good points to get more whatsapp numbers and talk to the staff. Thank you for sharing your experiece. I'm taking some notes will watching your videos.

    • @QueenofDC
      @QueenofDC  5 місяців тому

      Greetings! Cheers to your upcoming trip! Happy you enjoyed the video and gained value. SE Asia has me in a chokehold that's how much I love it. Yes, FP is no joke same with me. I had it in Mexico City and it took me out as well. I was eating from various street vendors that I didn't know about. Be very mindful where you eat, get recommendations and use your eyes 👀. I can't just eat from anywhere now although it looks good. I thought I was safe since I ate at this place before and it's a restaurant. Stay away from Bahn Mi in Hoi An....even my Villa owner said I would have told you don't eat that. Yes, friending the staff is a must. In Vietnam, hospitality is their culture and when they see you in distress they jump into action. When I returned to my hotel in Da Nang, they saw my broken spirit and were concerned. You'll have an awesome trip and you'll you're mindful of where you eat. Be sure to pack ALL your meds! Thank you for tuning in and your support 🎊💕.

      Thank you!! I'm feeling much better today but have been struggling this week. Absolutely love Da Dang!! If I'm still here would love to meet. Do not eat Bahn Mi in Hoi A because the other popular place Ms. Phuong sent over 150 people to hospital. Ate there the last time I was there. Had I known before, I would have stayed away from it all PERIODT.

    Sorry you got food poisoning. Thank you for the tips on acknowledging hotel staff, etc. I have always been hesitant about them as well as strangers. But, I do understand the necessity of trusting them or someone at the hotel.

      Thank you for your kindness and I'm much better now. I've eaten at this restaurant before that's why I felt comfortable going back. I've very particular about where I eat since I got terrible food poisoning eating street food in Mexico City. I crapped out on this one 😩. I'm a pretty good judge of character and always go by instinct. The Vietnamese have a culture of hospitality and comfort. They are genuine in their care for you so I had no reservations and I was in dire need. However, I'm very open to others including strangers based on instinct 😆. It hasn't failed me yet but I'm always aware and conscious. I do put safety precautions in place and I'm not naive or trusting of everyone but I use discernment. I've met some amazing people along this journey 🥰. Thank you for watching and sharing! Happy for your support!

      OMG, I can totally relate myself to your situation. Imagine, I had to endure food poisoning for almost the first six months when I started my duties in Mumbai. Gladly, I didn't have to work on weekends, but the Mondays to Fridays were very challenging especially when I was assisting the office director in setting up a new Mida centre in India for full operational amd the office director left it understaffed and I had to bear some other duties not my own. I had vomitted and had irritable bowel syndrome, every day or two days. It made me really weak. And I was thinking to God, I pray specifically for a posting to Europe, and someone idiot gave India, totally not my cup of tea. After 3 years serving my government in Mumbai, I never thought I came back to KL with a depression, had to retire early with no steady income, lost my only apartment in KL, all for nothing. I felt Mida had devastated my dreams but I'm keeping them alive. Thank God, He's still with me.

Glad I'm recovering well but it was awful.

      I feel sorry for all those years suffered in Mumbai. Absolutely no way I would survive in India. Most people I know have dealt with a horrific case of food poisoning or aversion to the food. I just can't tolerate the taste or smell after a certain point. Vietnamese smells were making me sick this week 🤣😂. Praying for the calm. While I was recovering the movie Hotel Mumbai came on and I recall the incident but it was brutal. Hope you weren't there during that time. My whole system is thrown off right now. Praying 🙏🏽 for us❤️.

    I ate some food from a Jamaican restaurant on my day off. Woke up the next morning, as I was getting ready for work noticed my stomach felt “funny.” All day at work stomach was not right. Towards the end of the workday I said, I need to get something for my stomach. Went to a convenience store on the basement level of my building. On my way back upstairs I was like “I ain’t going to make it” let me find a bathroom down here. Baybee! I put some liners on the floor & toilet and it was coming out of BOTH ends. I literally thought I was about to go see Jesus while alone in this basement bathroom. I thought maybe the cleaning people would find me! Was able to muster enough strength to go back to my office and literally laid on the floor by myself desk until I had enough strength to drive home.

I had a glass office 🤣😂they would have seen me all laid out crying for my life. I'm glad you recovered but during the moment, it's no joke.
