I bealive that b is the correct answer. Perhaps, I was doubtful between b and c but according with my rewriting, b matches better and also some details on alternate c made me give up when the beginning says “as soon as”...leaving the idea when “immediately” European arrived. That’s give an extra information and which according with the class, we should not pay attention on extra details.
The answer is 'C' according to me ,"On some ,not on all "refers to Almost (That means not exactly) ,where as in 'B' it refers to "Many"(largely) ,Tell Me What's Right ?
No that's not why c is wrong. C is wrong because it says that "dogs were present in almost every islan"d while the original sentence says that dogs were found in some but not all islands
this is how i reworded the sentence " when European explorers arrived in polynesia in the eighteenth century , dogs were present in some group islands " so i think the answer is C !!

I had my doubts on whether it was B or C. My instinct said C but on closer inspection B is more accurate because it mentions the eighteenth century.
