"Left For Dead" is about a previous relationship that felt more than just any relationship. I thought she was the one, my soulmate. We were building a life together and had a passion you don't find every day in other people. Then out of nowhere she up and leaves, leaving behind nothing but a note, then moves out within the week taking with her literally everything we shared.
Nothing ever hit me as hard as it did after she left. I literally was laying on couch cushions on a wooden floor in an empty house....I thought to myself how could we spend two years of our lives together...building each other up, being there for each other, helping each other through our struggles. To then in the blink of an eye she vanishes and it's like she never existed. The feelings of anguish and disappointment and confusion were so intense I chose to bottle them all up and became numb.
Following the breakup I would have dreams about her every single night, waking up to a mess of emotions everyday feeling confused. After a while it would seem this feeling of emptiness would never go away and would be with me until the day I died.

I am simply astonished this band and more specifically this song does not get more recognition. I saw an ad for The Impulsive on UA-cam. The song in the ad was a little eh, but I heard "the sound" I like in music. I knew I had to check their playlist. I had a gut feeling, and I couldn't look away until I figure out if all their music is just meh in spite of how close to gold their music gets
or until I find THIS song, which I've had on repeat for the past 10 days starting 0:53 to 4:51 on a seamless loop while I play games after work or on the weekend
That absolutely rad Guitar work, the perfect percussion and a voice with lyrics that has both simplicity and complexity equally into it. I WANT to play games where sound-queues aren't important JUST so I can put this in the background.
The yelling/shouting in metal is annoying as hell. Songs that rely on it I call "Scream-o" and make fun of constantly. That said, good job taking something I hate and making it NOT SUCK. That's really impressive.
And the last thing I'll leave off on is this: just based on this song I can safely say that if this band wants to it could be the new Breaking Benjamin without living entirely in their shadow.
I could type in "Songs/Bands like Breaking Benjamin" because I like the dourer lyrics and instrumentals and it brings up music that's like.... close but not really. Three Days Grace, Skillet. Good music, but nothing that has a strong similarity to them. If I could alter UA-cam algorithm, then I would make any of those searches lead to these guys. It's what you're looking for but you're not getting because they're not popular enough. What a damn shame.
