Wow Heather, that platter and tea kettle were a show stopper!!!!! You hit that out of the park with the 2 tone silver and white and the paint inlay!!!! Absolutely stunning!!!! It's hard to explain in words how gorgeous that is!!! You should definitely be able to get $$$ with that set!!!! Great job!!!!!
I agree, my mama and I used to go to a ceramic class twice a week, and this is definitely something like one we have made before and can be personalized while it's still in the greenware stage.
I used to have a booth…years ago..I know how hard this business is…but, hearing your idea of posting on line is genius! Having a booth…much depends on the area you are in as to what sells…but…not exclusively….someone might be looking for exactly what you have as a collector, etc.,..but you’re items are not what sells in their area….you never know what someone is looking for…so…post them and the more you share…the more audience you have. Love this business…fun for sure. 🥳
Hello Heather! Love the silver tray and coffee urn. Everything turned out beautiful, as usual. Enjoyed seeing Sweet Henry. You can tell he loves you so much. Take care, good luck and God bless 😊
Heather, the soup tureen, tray, and ladle were an item people made in ceramics classes which were all the rage in the 70’s and 80’s. I didn’t get involved, but my sister made one of these. Those mirrors with moulds would have been so pretty painted-sorry. Love that tray! Add that pitcher and that’s a show stopper. Thanks for sharing
Oh my goodness, LOVE YOU!!! You are just the cutest!!! The platter is my favorite, I’m so glad you matched it with the teapot 😍😍😍!!! I think you made wise purchases based off of previous items in your booth plus items you love/your style was is your brand!!! Wish you luck in the 40/40 challenge!!!
I have also seen those with toothpicks in them!!❤❤❤and I love the milk glass coffee cups. Reminds me of my grammas house❤❤❤ yes I would purchase off website. I have bought from GCR eBay ❤❤❤and have purchased from Sammie UDD website her recreations or antique finds. So yes please consider posting. I bet you would sell lots❤❤❤
Heather, I love watching everything you do. All the things you got I think will sell great after you put your touch on them, love the paint inlay, it's gorgeous. I wish I had stayed in Sonnets group, I was just in a bad place and couldn't keep up with everything going on. Good luck I hope you win my friend. God bless😊
Sidebar…when I was doing this…DIY ..was not what it is today….the options are endless now…so, making a profit is easier. And, you are so creative, so anything is possible 🤗
In all honesty sis less is more. White wax does not belong on everything. So I loved the molds hated the wax but with that said. It is your vision. Remember it is all about how you see it and your inspiration ❤❤❤❤. I love almost everything you do. I do not like white wax on wood just to make it look like you did something to it. Wax goes over paint to seal it. ❤❤❤. I think you are so awesome I am always on pins and needles to see what you come up with. Trust me when I say you tube videos do not look easy. I love the tray ❤❤❤❤ I loved the live you and Sonnet did I thought it was great. I have been learning so much from all of you. I have been watching you ladies probably since you started ❤❤❤❤
You know I am going to agree with you on the white wax this time! Those two toned mirrors were better before the wax but once I added it I couldn’t go back! Still may paint them…🤔
I’m guessing the soup tureen and plate were made in a ceramics class of sorts. I did ceramics when I was younger and you can make almost anything. I glazed many pieces while I was taking classes.
Thanks for the information! Did they actually build the ceramics piece then? Like add the “mould” type pieces and then carve on the bottom? I’ve seen the paint and fire still but didn’t realize they used to do that detailed of a class!?!
My favorite Has to be the silver paint inlay platter & coffee pot . I keep looking for another silver coffee pot to make another lamp. I made one along time ago and it got ruined. 😢 Love seeing henry, what a cute pie!!!
So funny, while you were showing the 2 black square pieces, I was yelling at the screen......white wax white wax........they were crying for it. The small soup taurine is so precious. Perfect for a couple to have hot soup from on a cold and snugly night.....and ok, ya, paper whites might look good too.....lol .................hold off on that picnic basket.....that is a very very high end basket.....and the people I know do use picnic baskets for all kinds of events....concerts......Shakespeare in the park, etc don't paint or stain it!!!
I kind of liked the before wax two-toned look better too but didn’t realize that until after the fact! 🤷🏻♀️. I won’t do the same thing next time but hoping someone will like it! Thanks for being here!
The tureen set was probably done in a ceramics class.. I use to make ceramics with a friend when I was in my 30es…I would make holiday platters, tureens, and fall decor . I even made a porcelain doll for my daughter, they were called super babies… I still have some of my holaday
I'm with you... Keep the bunny! If it were an elephant, that would be ME! 🤣 I absolutely love the tray and I'm waiting on my stockist to get not rose chintz inlays from a friend so that I can put it on a round ornate tray that is got ❤❤❤
I love love love the rose chintz inlay!! At least this one is a similar style and is selling well which will help for the future! I do still have some rose chintz left and need to use it again! 🤔
When you said you were going to leave the carved wood wall decor plain, I thought, no, it would look better with white wax, and then you did! Love how those turned out. Also, the rose inlay on the tray is beautiful! Good luck with the challenge!
Hello Heather!! The EPNS (Electro Plated Nickel Silver) Japan Tea Pot can be worth a little bit of money.😊 I thought I’d tell you what the initials were.❤ You should definitely post your stuff for sale online so we can buy some of your goodie!!😍👏🏼 💞Have a FABULOUS weekend sweet friend!!🥰🫶🏼💞
Thanks for letting me know! I meant to dig into that a little bit more but got sidetracked! 🫣. What have the stuff posted and have already sold 4 items so that’s exciting!
Please don’t succumb to peer pressure. You are definitely not lazy. You do you….you have a successful system and you know how much time you have to devote to each piece…..plus the added expense of adding a product to the items that you’ve already priced. BTW, I put a lot of items in my booth just to move them, and if they don’t sell, then I’ll upcycle it somehow. There are crafters out there that are looking for items to repurpose but don’t necessarily want to be bothered thrifting…..or whatever our procurement process is.
I was just playing…they weren’t trying to really pressure me just reminded me that 5 minutes with wax would really change those carved wooden things. I do need to just put more things in without upcycling them since summer is about to hit!
If you do choose to list on a website, curating what you sell to a fairly specific style makes it more appealing, especially for return shoppers. Some websites kinda come off as a junky flea market booth cause of all the random unrelated stuff. Ppl will get tired of scrolling through stuff they have no interest in and stop shopping with you. Have you concidered maybe doing like a personal shopper type thing? Where ppl can ask you through your web site to look for specific items when you shop, and if you come across it, you send them a pic with a price? Might be better than listing stuff... ? You could even decide whether to take the person on as a client or not if you know what they are looking for isnt sold at the shops you typically go to. Its just a thought.
Well shopping and spending other people’s money sounds amazing! I have already sold 4 of my listed items so I may just mention this in my next video! Thank you for suggesting!!!
@CreateYourOwnCozy you're welcome! I know where I'm at there, isn't a lot of options for thrifting cause ppl tend to pass their stuff down or sell it in a vendors mall etc. Figured others might be in a similar situation. There have been a couple times I would have loved to have something specific and couldn't find it or couldn't get enough for a project. (Been loving the octagonal frames, but could never find them so had to go a different direction for a project I wanted to do.)
Well in our challenge we are not counting the craft supplies we all happen to already have on hand or sell. I know the paint inlay purchase would up my cost technically but since I only used 1 out of 8 sheets it’s not as bad!
Wow Heather, that platter and tea kettle were a show stopper!!!!! You hit that out of the park with the 2 tone silver and white and the paint inlay!!!! Absolutely stunning!!!! @@CreateYourOwnCozy That does not surprise me one bit!!!! I would be more surprised if it didn't sell because it was an absolutely gorgeous set!!!
@@colleenlevy825 appreciate that! Totally on the look out for more to upcycled!
The soup tureen was probably from a ceramic studio. You can personalize anything before it is glazed and fired.
Thanks so much for the info! I knew about the paint and fire but didn’t know they had them pre-fired to work on as well! So cool
I agree, my mama and I used to go to a ceramic class twice a week, and this is definitely something like one we have made before and can be personalized while it's still in the greenware stage.

I think I may still paint those frames with moulds. They didn’t turn out my favorite and I still think they can be better. 🤔
I love the tray with the paint inlay. It is beautiful!
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
My mom had that exact little crystal vase. She kept toothpicks in it. I love the little metal pitcher!
