From Italy. I have the privilege of having a 2012 Gibson BB KING Lucille identical to the one in the video. A professional musician friend visited me with his Epiphone Lucille. They look the same. But when he played both the difference was felt. It was the guitar that I waited so many years. I'm proud of it. Is fantastic.

In the 2005 Epiphone BB King Lucille they used 57 Classic pickups. 2005 only. Interesting fact for you.

The truth is: 99.99 % of players don‘t need an overpriced Gibson. They need to practise more. Get a decent Epiphone or Squier and start playing

You don't even have to break the bank for a good guitar. If you can do your own setup and change your own electronics, you can buy a $500 guitar from the pawn shop for $200, and spend $400 on pickups, tuners, pots, and a bridge if you're really feeling the need. Will it play like an American handcrafted guitar? No. But it'll have the fundamental features you want, and it'll play as good as and sound better than a $1000 epiphone for which you probably had to compromise on the specs anyway, as long as the fretwork isn't trash.

To prove the point check out George Boone Blues Band “stranger in my hometown” George plays an Epiphone Lucille that BB King had signed for him. George is extremely talented and he plays an Epiphone. It’s in the fingers not the equipment. As long as the guitar is decent and playable, it’s more the player than the guitar.

I mean,, guitars are not needs anyway. So, really, it comes down to what you want, what inspires you, and what makes you feel good. ,,, oh yeah,, and what you can afford. Some people can't afford a used squire. That's probably a huge %of world population.

I recently bought an Epiphone Lucille it's an awesome guitar but I had to tweak a few minor things. The nut was cheap and rigid plastic that I changed to a custom fitted bone, I had the neck adjustment and nut change done by professionals it's fine now. I love all the tonal options, I will not be messing with the pickups as it suits my taste. This guitar is definitely a keeper and it looks fantastic.

I have two friends that have found the Epiphone BB King guitar I love them they do play themselves so to speak it's a professional gigging instrument. Sure I'd love to have a Gibson but I don't even have the Epiphone maybe one day.

jimmy gon Hello I’ m Guido from Italy . I have some question for you : Is your Epiphone Lucille Old Made in Korea or made in China ?Are you use the same value for caps? Where do you have found caps? Varitone is the original Epiphone or have you modded it? Why have you prefer Semiramide Duncan Antiquity to original a Gibson Lucille 490t and 490r? Have fun in music!

Hey whats up!!! My guitar is Chinese, the truth is there is no difference between a Korean and a Chinese, I say this because I have already had both, I think it is the fame of nostalgia and luck each one, regarding capacitors if they have a value similar to from a lucille gibosn, I got those with a luthier here in Mexico who worked in a guitar center, with him he has an easy time getting those types of pieces although they are not difficult to get, you can buy them on ebay the original ones are "sprague" brand (I think that's how it is written) and its value I think is 0.047 I don't remember very well the pots are "cts" of 500k. Regarding the hambuckers I preferred the SD because I have a Gibson paul supreme with the same Hambuckers as the lucille and I decided to try something different but the HB gibson and SD have the same value for bridge is 8.7k and for neck 7.8k the truth is these SD are great, greetings from Mexico.

I have two Epiphone BB King Lucille that one will stay stock standard as it is the exact model that came out the day it was released ...
The other one is at the luthier in London for some serious updates...
Two Seymour Duncan PRails with Trippleshots rings for extra 24 tunes without a pedal board....
Then a Fishman Piezo undersaddle and a Fishman Powerchip blending the piezo with the Seymour ......
The Varitone switch stays and the the three way selector has been replaced with a Sixway Freeway switch to be wired like a Fender style to have all the pickups blended and each on each own..
Each pickup will have its own volume control and a master Tone...
All pots are replaced with push pulls to get that extra tones too....
Can only wait till I have it bck from the luthier....any time soon next week though....

That sounds awesome and a hellva build prolly one of a kind but it's not Lucille anymore but I guess that was the plan. With so many tonal options I'd like to hear it.

I have a 1996 Gibson B B King Lucille but sans the tuner inlay and the Gibson logo in place of the B B King which is on the cover plate and Lucille sideways hp the headstock. It's the most amazing axe I've ever owned, almost plays itself. I find the varitone switch very useful btw.

What about weight wise? Can tell us the weight differences of the two? But I think the Epiphone is lighter on the shoulder. Thanks.

This video has been up for months and only 27 "likes" and zero comments? Add me as a subscriber. Hey guys, how about an entire series on how to identify the fakes from the real thing?
Does that last Varitone position - - or even the last two positions - - split the Humbuckers into single coil?
