Thank you Luke, I have seen this game in my local game store, and not even considered it, but now after this review (as with your other game reviews) has opened my eyes to a game I would not have thought of. I mainly play single player games but occasionally I can get one or two others to play. Still working on my wife. So thanks again Luke and keep up the excellent work.
Yeah in the old days my ability to utilise the bokeh on a cheap lens was not great - if you check out my most recent content, you'll see I've done a much better job with a much more advanced lens.
I like the new look Luke! Vincent Dutrait is easily my favorite artist working today and has been for years. Jaipur is an insanely awesome 2P game. I’d definitely consider it a collection staple. Right up there with 7 Wonders: Duel, Raptor and War Chest.
Phenomenal two player game that's easily one of my favourites. Super simple for anyone to just to pick up and play, but still with enough strategy to appease veteran gamers. Personally I prefer the art of the original version, but not by much as this one looks great too. The original also has an easter egg on one of the camel cards (look closely at the objects strapped to the humps).
Dutrait is not human? Had hoped that, but alas we never know where the AI hides. Nice with a 2nd ed review. I keep my old version, the new box seems better however.
Jaipur is the perfect example to me of the difference of "I would play this game and likely even enjoy it" and "I actually WANT to play this game." Someone brings this up to me and wants to play it, I won't say no, but I would never be that person who brings it up to someone and wants to play it. It just doesn't excite me at all. Lost Cities, Kahuna or 7 Wonders Duel for me instead please.
I wouldn't say the artwork is much better, as the old edition had great artwork as well and I don't think anyone would fault it. Alexandre Roche's camels are waaay cuter.
Im the same, love the colour of the original box, the dandy chap on the front and even the components. Might have to buy a spare copy in case anything happens to mine!
I have to say I agree. The new artwork is clearly "better" but I prefer the clean and plain style in the original. The new tokens don't look good at all. I would take the look of the old tokens any day. Now that the new one is out, I might have to go buy a couple of older ones in case I ever want to give them as gifts.
I would like to see a side by side comparison of each old card vs new card.

I'm relatively new to board gaming, and stumbled onto this game last year. My wife and I love it.
Eh, I would have liked to see Splendor style poker chips for the tokens. I’ll keep my first edition.
I think you are using a bit of a long lens creating the narrow depth of field. The box of Jaipur at the back is off-field blurred.

We've been playing Jaipur for years. We have two copies so we can play with four. It scales perfectly.
Four player.....interesting. 🤔
This channel is way underrated. Love the content!
Thanks very much, and this is during the phase where my camera focus was all over the shop! Always trying to get this channel known to others.
Please increase F setting in your camera. :P
As for the components Luke are the tokens similar to Splendor?
No, these aren't poker chips
No but the box is small and neat still holding sleeved cards.
Dude, love your vids! Watching them a lot :3. I’ve bought tickets to Essen Spiel ‘19 today. Hope to meet you there!
I actually prefer the old artwork.
What card sleeve size?
63.5 x 88 mm i think
@@TheBrokenMeeple some were saying mayday sleeves were too tight.
@@joeysalt8974 I swear by Sleeve Kings now and they fit fine for me.
Hi, thanks for the review. I actually prefer the old version art and design :)

Wtf I didn't get no metal coin in mine
It's really not necessary 😅

I have the app. I play it just to pass time when I want something real casual.

Ill stick to my first edition lol good game tho
Yeah, if you own one, no need to upgrade other than for cosmetics.
th old one looks better
Really? I can say maybe the old one looks "cleaner" but in terms of colour and detail, it's got to be 2nd Ed.
@@TheBrokenMeeple don't get me wrong, vincent dutrait art is amazing but in this game i think the old one fits better for being more cartoonish

Thanks for the video! I was wondering about this one.
