Nice vid, found myself talking to the TV saying ram chip when you powered up the dead test, I don't personally trust the ram testers as I'm fairly sure they don't have the same timings as a real computer and ram can work at more favourable timings but still be fucked
I did a chip swap between a C16 and a Plus/4, and I messed up the TED's orientation. You see, I took a picture on my phone to remember the orientation, but the phone auto-rotated thinking it was upside down. Luckily the chip still worked after rotating it back.
are you selling any of these, i would love one to play icile works on, it was my late mother fav game and i still have the cart and joystick (ps2 thingy) but not a system
Yay 🎉 Always great to see those old boards spring to life!
Nice that you give some love to Commodore Plus/4's
They're a nice machine :) Much less regarded than they should be, imho.
@@TimsRetroCorner My channel is a loveletter to the Commodore Plus/4. Plenty of stuff there
Very nice repair, a bit of luck matching working CPU and TED in one unit :) Plus/4 is a very lovely machine :) Cheers!
Thanks. It's a shame the ports are so quirky, but at least there are adapters to use regular joysticks etc
The plus/4 is a nice machine to work on.
Absolutely :)

Sure there can be more subtle failures, but I think they work fine as a gross function test.
Nice repair Tim ... ive 4 or 5 c16's and plus4's kicking around but they never get used :(
You should use them! Far better BASIC than the C64, and okay the expansion is a bit naff, but definitely worth playing with

Yep, It's definitely a 'gotcha'.

I'l l probably be selling some at some point, but I haven't really got my act together in that regard.
