To be fair, there were good years for State over that stretch with 9 wins in 21 and 23. It's not like the team has been 6-6 each year. This year was clearly NOT good, and there were huge disappointments like the games against Wake and GT, but to paint the game with Carolina last weekend & its corresponding season as all you needed to see in the last 4-6 years is a bit of an overreach IMO.

Dave Doeren does a fine job of developing young boys into quality young men, and every few years, he gets bitten in the backside by a lot of injuries, which happened this season. He needs to brush up on his history lessons, as the oldest rivalry in the ACC is NC State and Wake Forest. On the play where NC State "might" have let Hampton score from the 50 yard line, all Hampton had to do was intentionally go down around the 13 yard line and UNC would have won the game. Blame the UNC coaching staff for not having situational awareness. By the way, Drake Maye, at 1-9 as a starter, is now an official "bust" and will be carrying a clipboard like Sam Howell very soon.

@@Shaboomquisa No argument that NIL is ruining college sports. Once a player gets a certain amount of NIL money, they should give that person's scholarship to a DESERVING person who is actually there to be a STUDENT. Make transfer portal kids sit out a year. All of this mess could be easily fixed. Americans are losing interest in college sports at a blistering pace, especially the younger folks.

@@nothingman27511 if they get a 30 team super conference and were on the out I dont think I would watch much more college football. the ncaa can only pee on us and tell us its raining for so long.

Drake maye isn’t a bust😂. He’s a rookie on a team with absolutely no talent, especially on offense. They have the worst receiving corps in the league and not much of an offensive line. I’m a state fan but maye has done better as a rookie than brissett did at the start of the season. Calling maye a busy is crazy when he’s barely played 8 games in the NFL. He needs a couple of years to learn and some actual weapons on the perimeter to throw the ball to

@@juice_man4439 Patriots are 3-10. Brissett is 2-1 as starter. Maye is 1-9. SAME players for both QB's. Maye is identical to Sam Howell - he can sling a nice pass now and then, but at the end of the game, he has given you 14 to 20 points. For Howell, that was a record of 4-12 for the Commanders. For Maye, it is 1-9. These are the facts, my friend. B-U-S-T.

It's funny how state fans get excited about beating UNC the last 4 games but they can beat Clemson consistently even when Clemson hasn't been that good. NC State football always get hyped up at the start of the season and they always flop. Doreen will never take state to an ACC Championship. They paid for an indoor facility and a remodel of the Coliseum and what have they gotten in return no Championships and one flop season after another and no prestigious bowl game and they will only go to low level bowl game but state won't get nothing else from a high school coach.

I’m a state fan and I’m not a fan of Dave at all. He’s got a horrible record against good teams. I’m usually pretty realistic but I’ll admit I bought into the hype at the start of the season. I’m not sure if all that “talent” that transferred in during the off season was just overhyped or if the coaches have failed to use them properly, or both. This season was a massive disappointment for us, almost to the point that I wanted us to lose to Carolina in hopes that we’d fire everyone and start over. But now that we won we’re definitely stuck with Dave for another year. We’ve had some good seasons but still haven’t lived up to expectations in most. The sad thing is a lot of state fans are happy with mediocrity and would keep Dave around forever if we just go 6-6 and beat Carolina
