Hello and thanks for doing this series. I am a long time fresh water guy and have always been interested in salt water tanks. I have heard good things about Red Sea and will follow this series with an eye to the future....thanks again
Okay a suggestion for possible equipment although "expensive". Profilux 4 set with additional level sensor for ATO backup. The physical ATO works well on the redsea reefer until it gets blocked or fails for another reason. For me (having had it blocked) it's a point of failure which I feel needs redundancy. You may also think the reservoir is too small after a short while. With the profilux 4, possibly KH director and their shortly to be introduced ION Director you can potentially automate a lot of your testing to backup your red sea manual test kits. It could also be a more accurate, frequent test to show trends which may be of interest and will show effects of the redsea products more accurately. Not sure if adding a controller of some sort would break your terms/conditions with Redsea though. It would certainly be interesting to see an alternative to the (not easily available in mainland europe) neptune trident.
Nice, i am looking for a 425xl at the moment as my first reeftank. exciting times, i will be going for a mixed reef and then dive into sps with time if all goes well. also want to emphasize on tankbred fish except for some work force maybe.
I think when i get more money i will get this tank. Currently have a nano tank for the past year (20g) honestly its just been hard work looking after it. swings are crazy fast
Picking a biotope and sticking for that region would be great to see. It would also give RedSea Fish direction on where to take their equipment. For example open reef beat, select GBR, red Sea, Fiji, Hawaii, cook islands etc and then select lagoon, reef face etc then the flow the lighting and heating / cooling schedule exactly copying that regions year round shifts. If all I have to think about is the animals then I want to pick a region and have my environment replicate that region...
Yes larger tanks are more pricey and you get that pay to win with the stability! I agree and I have a 10 planted fresh water with beach sand for substrate and when my alarm clock goes off in the morning I test the tank after using the bathroom every day my 96 gallon black water tank has more live stock and same substrate I test it weekly maybe and have a heavy plant load and is very stable my 500 gallon tank I think I tested two months ago? Maybe it has no swings dispite having 300 neon tetras, otocats that get veggies daily 10 female betta and odd balls going in it
Got a 50 gallon cube tank with a kessil 160 tuna blue with just softies tank doing great any ideas on the Red Sea 50 led or a led that I can program better ta
Angelfish reef tank. I realize it will be hard to find angelfish that don’t eat corals but I’d say it’s usually 50/50. Currently I have 5 Pygmy angels and a tiger angel in my 100 gallon display and they do very well at never nipping my corals. You could also get a tang or two
Hey I’m thinking about buying a Red Sea reefer 525xl and sump for £310 do you think this is a good idea even though it doesn’t have plumbing or a stand?
I have a very unconventional tank atm which I won’t go into details about so I don’t get slaughtered by the tank police. Anyway, I’m thinking of getting this tank and I’m fairly new to hobby, can you do the video on the maintenance of this tank once it’s properly up and a running. I want to see how realistic it is for me before spending the money ! It’s a lovely looking tank.
You should try to stock it differently than your other tanks becaus it will just be a smaller version imeditly making it worse so make it a tank with a small school of fish it wi'll look cool
I love the idea of male and female pairs of fish. Sometimes hard to source, but worth the effort, I think. But I’m biased - I have three such pairs and consider them the most interesting of all my 11 fish. Mind you, I wouldn’t be without my flame hawkfish.....😁 But you have extensive fish experience so I’m sure you’ll put together something fantastic. 👍🏻👍🏻
I wouldn't use the plumbing that came with the RedSea, myself. The 90degree elbows on the return pump are greatly reducing the pump's return pressure and adding unnecessary stress to wear out the pump faster. And the horizontal drain pipe is one big sediment trap you can't access, very poor design choices IMO.
For all new reefer please use (real reef rock ore caribsea live rock) its so easy. And you don.t have pest animals. And in my case the phosfate level is always to low i need to adit always. So in my opinion art live rock are better and in same way more eco friendley. But use a good bacteria colonie.
Another *box fish *😀 and maby a angle fish ik they not to reef safe but I like the* fire angle * Sea aneome and *Picasso clowns* or something pretty in that category

I know you’re going to have fun with this tank. Looking forward to seeing this build come together
3 weeks to wait now... before the fish go in :(
You are so lucky! What a beautiful tank! 😀👍
I've been impressed so far :)
About to start my first reef tank. Really excited about this series.
Sounds like I've started this just in time
OOH. I'm excited for this series!
lol me too
I love that the intro sound works for both intros!
it was just luck :p
Bless that then!
Can't wait to see the progression and I think a mixed reef would be nice
It's time for me to get back into keeping soft corals :)

Hopefully this series will help you get into the hobby :)
That tank looks fantastic 👌👌👌
:D
I think you will absolutely love the ReefLED 90s. They really nailed it with these lights.
So far I like them, however the true test will be when I have coral under them :)
Great idea on the removable combs. Build a montipora masterpiece 😍
I've got plans too, I think I have about 30 types already :)
Nice kit
:D

Aquascape looks great
Thank you

That is a pretty sweet tank
It is :)
This is going to be Epic!
It will be :)
Aqua scape looks phenominal 👌🏼
Thank you :D

I do like that idea, although I've already got quite a few corals which come from all over the world that I want to keep in it :)
@@PrestigeReef nice
This is the beginning of a long journey
Let’s hope so 😁
more content, more content, more content
More to come soon :)

500 gallon is huge!
I would set up one of their systems if i got a sweet deal like you did! That's awesome!
I'm very lucky :)

I've love this, i used to have 8 dwarfs in a tank together :)

I plan to do a maintenance video eventually :)
Awesome! Please make a soft corals tank!
I’ve got a new found appreciation for soft corals, I’m sure I’ll have a few in there :)
You should try to stock it differently than your other tanks becaus it will just be a smaller version imeditly making it worse so make it a tank with a small school of fish it wi'll look cool
Thats a very good point
This is gonna be an awesome series but how many gallons for us Americans
I think its 112 gallons
@@PrestigeReef thanks man
I love setting up new tanks that are not a set
I think it depends your level of experience in the hobby, as to if you find this enjoyable
Nice!
:D

I love the dwarf angels like this, unfortunately they have the ability to change sex so they dont always stay a pair
Nice aquascape, will you do a video on it?
I will :)
Muito top! 😁
:D
Im seriously struggling to get my new 350 quiet

It will be interesting to see how it does
Tank is supposed to sit forward so the doors fit flush with the front glass!
I might have explained that wrong, it is sitting forward
Try something you haven’t kept before! Im always up for a new challege
Hmmm...I've never kept anthias...

Cost bro COST! its all very well being given a free setup... but to the others... what is the cost?
Oxedizer if your asking red sea is very expensive
@@nolanh4104 I'm not sure if English is your 2nd language. Red sea being expensive is subjective, this wasn't the question.
I'f I'm honest I don't actually know how much it costs, I havent googled it
Oxedizer damn you really r stuck up
@@nolanh4104 Thank you for the confirmation
I’m not sure this is more of a suggestion than request but a pair of mandarins, and sand
If I'm honest I'm not a huge fan of mandarins
Prestige Reef fair enough. What’s your planned stocking?
Dwarf lionfish, 20 of them
Someone really likes dwarf lionfish :p
I have this tank. In white.
Stock it with loads of tiny fish
Thats not a bad idea
Your 2 structures have the same height. It will look more interesting if the 2 structures are not similar.
Suggestion for tank? A biotope tank.
The structure on the left will have corals which have a high growth pattern where as the right will be encrusting
gem tang
Very unlikely if I’m honest
Surprise everyone and fill it with frog fish
lol taht would be a suprise
School of cardinals would be nice or anemone dominated cool
I'm not a big anemone fan if I'm honest
@@PrestigeReef ok.. How about a euphyllia garden all colors
Need a lot of help
Puffer tank :p
I'd love something like that, they have such great personality
I thought u got out of the hobby
No, I’m closing down my main tank to start a coral farm
Do you do installations for other people by chance?
I would be literally terrible at it 🤣
