That 15/16 season Ritchie De Laet came to Boro. Finished second and got us promoted. Straight after final game, he drove to Leicester and got his Premier League medal. I wonder how many players have won two trophies in a day!
I met Simpson in the players lounge of the Newcastle v Cardiff game, he was playing for QPR but didn’t have a game that week. Ironically a player who had a reputation of being a bit of dick put Newcastle players to shame as to how he conducted himself and how he interacted with people. Had a good bit crack with him and have to say a real top fella! Craig Bellamy was with Cardiff and he was the same - genuine fella. Ben Arfa et al could not show the same decorum!
Great Podcast,Great to hear about team spirit being the Odds , Amazing Gave me a new hope for football .,in the future when football now feels soulless,Fair play lads great job
I liked this episode. Simpson was one of those type of players who was never a star player but made a living out of the game and enjoyed everything that came with it. He faced adversity at every club and seemed to be always getting moved on. How be ended up at Huddersfield on a 1 year deal after leaving Leicester is a mystery. He needed a better agent. He is probably not mega rich as he was never in the high earner bracket, but at least he can say he won the league and played football for a living
What a top lad hopefully he gets back to being happy it’s a shame he’ll always be a hero not just for Leicester but for football, great interview lads keep up the fantastic work 🙌🏻
Waow, I went to virtually all the games in our premiership winning season, and I had the biggest smile watching this Vid, from start to finish. For Danny Simpson to add stories to our fairy tale season, just made it even more magical. He had me in stitches in some parts and I felt so sorry for him in others. Decent bloke, very funny and open about his mental health struggles. That season we used to sing the following song to the tune of "the Flintstones". 🎶... "Simpson, Danny Simpson, he's the left back when we won the league. Why don't, Gareth Southgate, put the f***** in the England team?"..🎶
Crazy remember they had cambiasso who was different class but moved to Greece 🇬🇷 then they won the league marehez vardy kante cambiasso would have been in that team
I'd love to ask then what mentally made them not brick it (he alluded to being chased by Spurs who hadn't won it not Man City helping this] and how 6 months before ar City Arsenal and Man Utd they where getting battered then they go to beating all them and barely losing a game like what got them to believe in themselves that much?
He looks a broken man imo. Hope he has put away some money for his future. His face when the omis situation came up and spending the money it cost, he seemed angry. Hope he can build something with his experience. It would be sad to hear a player like him not been able to support his future after his success
nigel pearson will fight a pack of wolves no problem. it's a fight those wolves definitely lost. nigel pearson will have used only a british fighting style, using only british punches and honourable kicks where needed.
A poem for each of you: I’ll start off with Chris Brown number one, He is number one because he always got it done, By done I mean failing to score in a game for Blackburn, It must hurt to know that every single shot at goal you had was a spurn, In all serious though you don’t make it if you can’t play a bit, Despite the hammerings you get from people in the name of wit, Sorry but it’s impossible to not mention the beak, Or the footage that unfortunately happened to leak, And on we go to Chris Brown number two, Bolton’s now most famous man, ladies form a queue, The Bolton connection is the reason you’re my favourite, I was born there and will always savour it, I sometimes feel you get dismissed a bit by the odd guest, But then again look at how you’re usually dressed, Having you on the pod though does give it a nice spin, Keep on trying your best at getting those ads in, 😉 Now let’s try Jon Parkin and see what I can yield, I witnessed him come on as a sub at 38, he scored, and was the best player on the field, On first glance he looked like a veteran pub player, Sorry Jon, It was the visual of the extra layer (or four) Now retired and smashing it with Undr the cosh, I hope now it’s popular it’s bringing in a bit of dosh, I always love the blunt Barnsley humourous side of your personality, I just hope secretly the beast isn’t into beastiality,
Great podcast but are we just going to ignore Danny openly admitting referee didn't give a red because he wanted them to win the league so match fixing?
These pros think the body can get away with alcohol abuse and still perform i would not pay one cent to watch football. The fans are delusional. These professionals never reach their potential as partying gets in the way. Look at Gazza, Shame on you athletes
John getting upset about Claudia sending him to the 23's is f**King hilarious🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for being so honest Danny goes a long way mate

I actually wasn't aware of that. Amazing. I didn't think that he was on loan at that point. Thought he'd actually moved on x
Get a trophy for finishing second 👉😂 ookaaaay buddy
@@DEANISHERE2.0 as much as I don’t agree with it. We got one. Cheers son 👍
@@shainemillward257 then suffered a predictable relegation first season, should've stuck with de Laet
Pretty sure he’s the only player to win PL and promotion to it same season
We will never forget about the amazing season of Leicester City and your wow performance ❤🎉 Saludos desde 🇦🇷 Argentina

He was a very soild right back for us at Leicester, just did the basics so well that season.
What an absolute legend, glad to see him doing so well. Great pods.
Unreal to hear a professional being so open about their mental health as so many people whether footballers or normal people will be able to relate
Was a quality player for the Toon when he was up here. Top lad.

I wouldn’t mind being a quid behind him.
The omis story…oh my god I laughed at that 😂 nearly in tears!
What a top lad hopefully he gets back to being happy it’s a shame he’ll always be a hero not just for Leicester but for football, great interview lads keep up the fantastic work 🙌🏻
Sat on the exercise bike laughing my head off at the thought of the ref on the pan 😂
How did you not mention that Pearson got the tic tac because of what went on in Thailand pre-season? 😂
Really enjoyed that. Omis comes across as a good guy. Good luck to him in the future. Keep these coming lads 👏
Absolute class podcast with Omis. 😂
Leicester just win the league and Jon asks…. “Did you order takeaway?” 😂😂😂😂😂
He got you boys with the Elvis odds! I lost it aswell
DS seems like a right top lad 👌🏻

Solid player is Danny!, Will do the job!
Ronaldos not a bad wingman
You've had a fair few ex city players mentioning they've regretted leaving Leicester, a great club to be at 🦊
He comes across as a top lad Danny
Top man . Would’ve been decent to see you in the famous green & white 🍀 good luck for the future DS & keep the chin up

Great honest interview. Seems like a real genuine man. Good insight into what it's like to be a professional football player.
Crazy remember they had cambiasso who was different class but moved to Greece 🇬🇷 then they won the league marehez vardy kante cambiasso would have been in that team

Ya na wa ah mean
The lack of appreciation you lot have for Ngolo speaks volumes about u lads
🤡
45:08 😂😂😂 typical
No mention of Cambiaso?
He played for us in the 2014/15 "Great Escape" season but left in the summer. We won the premier League the next season...
It’s a way to fix games no other use, all we ever wanted was goal line technology, not all this nonsense
Top class
Interview starts at 13:26
Not a dig lads, only the more popular podcasts get time coded. ❣
Wish he spoke more about Newcastle in this but still a great pod👍
He spoke about Newcastle in part one mate 👍
Get Danny Drinkwater on 👀
get david nugent on
nigel pearson will fight a pack of wolves no problem. it's a fight those wolves definitely lost. nigel pearson will have used only a british fighting style, using only british punches and honourable kicks where needed.
You can’t expect to stay at a club though, your a bang average player and there was in the cl so there got better players
Gordon Strachan left and won the league.
Loads of players have.
Tevez and Veron left Man Utd and won the league
