I was there when this was recorded; it was one of my best ever musical experiences. I've heard the piece many times and it still gives me massive tingles.
Franz Lizst said it for all time." Upon this instrument has been laid the lamentations of the ages" I want to fly there and play hymns on this instrument.
Great courage and confidence needed to play like that. Hitting a wrong note at that level of sound pressure would stand out like the proverbial sore toe!
This must have sounded like heven and earth colliding in the cathedral hall. 4 as other people say the only true way to experience a pipe organ is to be in the same room.
Absolutely 100% true. Many people not familiar with the pipe organ or organ music in general don’t realize that not only are you hearing it auditorily but physically as well which can only be experienced than explained or described. 🌴☀️🌴
I have Seen this Organ this Summer in Trondheim Norway 🇳🇴 in Person. I Didn't hear it been played that day but Heard it had Amazing sound. But the Keyboard for it was moved to the left side of it. Not in front of the Pipes
sure you can get technical with registration but when i say to a friend of mine enable the loud stops he knows you mean the chamades and 32 reed stops and overall just reeds. Sure i will say enable the 32 reed but if you have someone there that doesn't know anything about organs you mostly call it "the loud stuff"

Organs are the God of instruments. There's just something magical about them.
Not god, but king; made for god.
That's for sure. They are such beautiful instruments outside and such beautiful music comes out of them
Magic and terrifying
My dad plays the organ in my local church and sometimes a somewhat dark song sous terrifying as heck
A friend, an organist, describes the organ as “the king of instruments and the queen of versatility.”

What is the name of this piece?
@@Zoom_1012 It doesn't have a name, but the comments further down may help.
I think if I was in the hall that day, the organ would be having difficulty being heard over my sobbing at hearing uch a beautiful sound.
You owe me a new jaw because mine fell off. Absolutely spectacular, you need more recognition

Stunning!! I don’t characterize it as loud, but as powerful, resonant and soul-stirring.
That gave me a MUHAHAHA WELCOME TO MY LAIR
Very nice and quite impressive!

Organs do NOT 'get loud'.
The volume is dependent on the registration.

Really? Who cares when the organ sounds like that!
You just offended Saint Olav.
