Sacco's in-game coaching decisions, who he has playing, and some of his line combos, have been puzzling since the Christmas break. His decision to pull the goalie when the team's not looking strong on possession, but is still potentially within reach (like tonight) has been baffling.
@PennyFitzgeraldFan okay, thanks for giving specifics. What about the 2015 draft? I've heard a lot of fans quoting "2015 draft" lately What disappointed you? Drafting NHL players is straight up gambling. I prefer proven roster players myself.
I'm not defending the guy as he's the one who assembled the club. If I look at the situation realistically, he's not the one telling the players to "get out there and make the other team feel overconfident." This edition is on the flip side of the group most felt over-achieved last year. After years of inaccurate preseason projections by so-called "experts" who saw the B's as a "bubble team," this year they may finally be right. Right now, it's looking that way. We're past the official halfway point of the regular season and I still don't think we've seen this roster consistently play to the best of their abilities. Only in spurts. Like in the dominant win against the Caps, one of the league's best teams in Boston last month, the win away in Vancouver on that western road trip, the comeback win in Calgary. Teams have down years collectively. The Rangers were 55-23-4 for 114 points just last year. This year, they're 19-20-2 for 40 points in 41 games. The players didn't suddenly forget how to play. The Panthers won the President's Trophy in 2022 at an impressive 58-18-6 for 122 points. The very next season, they dropped to 42-32-8 for 92 points. Aside from them coming back from being down 3-1 in their series to beat the juggernaut Bruins, I remember reading how Florida was out of the playoffs when the new year rolled around. They made it their mandate to make every game of the remaining regular season an absolute street fight for whomever they played just to get in the playoffs. It's unlikely but Sweeney can come down from his 9th floor suite of TD Garden, tell the guys to pull their fingers out and adopt a similar mentality but it's the players who ultimately have to want to do it. As I said, they've shown the odd glimpse of being a hard team to beat when they aren't out there making mistakes that beat themselves. They just haven't done so consistently. I still don't think they have bad players, but they've often played badly. What do you think @TheFoolintherainn?
We scored one goal in support, better blame the goalie!! I swear some of yall are unreal. Did you watch the game? He played tremendous. So many big saves.

What was clear, is we had Bergeron and krejci for pennies on the dollar, our 1 C and 2 C basically played with one skate out the locker room door. After he retired again, krejci said he didn't feel like returning. He didn't feel like playing hockey anymore. But, We knew we were going into debt bringing in orlov, bertuzzi and hathaway. You're not going to see another goalie goal like that often. That amount of power, the speed with which the puck went into the net, after he lifted it over the heads of a wall of opponents coming at him. That strength represents something Jeremy will never have. The ability to move the puck up ice quickly. Korpisalo uses the boards far more often to pass rebounds off to Brando He works his rebounds over to the side, Jeremy's rebounds often pop out in front leaving second chances He's not in control to the point where he can pass the puck off a rebound nor does he use the boards often The boards are basically an extra player to help get the puck up ice Goalies do help with scoring.
