If you are 20 something with no major injuries, then okay. But, I can promise you as you get older the game changes. It’s not about the lesser self, it’s about the smarter self. More is not always better. This mentality can get you into major trouble as you age. I promise you, you won’t always be fine and no it doesn’t take 1000 burpies to over train.
You’re absolutely right that aging can change the way we need to approach training, and staying mindful of that is key. And thank you for adding this. My point is more about the mindset many people fall into - using caution as a cover to avoid pushing their limits. This “safety-first” mentality can sometimes become an excuse that holds people back, leading them to prioritize recovery so heavily that it compromises their actual training consistency. While smart programming and listening to your body are essential, I believe that in many cases, pushing through perceived limits is how we realize our true potential. Each approach has its own risks and rewards, and finding the balance is part of the journey.
