That ramble was as raw as Eddie Murphy in 1987. I struggle with which 'guy' I am too. The greatest gift that aging has given me, though, is caring less and less about which 'guy' I am and being the human I'm most comfortable with. A human who loves bags. Keep up the great work CR.
LOL you can tell he just loves these slings and bags. Besides their features and quality it just satisfies hes itches of fidgeting with the zips and magnetic. PURE JOY from a man with a pack Hahaha LOVE THAT
Love The Ramble. Going through it right now after a job loss. Anything that disracts me (food, camera bags, lenses, shoes, etc) from losing a job that I loved and my identity was wrapped up in I consume it. Not sure what the solution is.
Keep a positive outlook. Might not be best to let food distract you? When I am stressed it is best to do some sort of exercise like walking or bike riding. Good luck.
The rants are the authenticity ❤ My Wndrd Pvrke first gen has traveled the world with me for years. Since downsizing from an interchangeable lens system to Fujifilm X100 series for travel, I've switched to slings. Wotencraft Night Rider just arrived, ready for a Europe trip soon. They do good stuff.
Chase Reeves, I hope you find your happy, you've made so many of us a little happier sharing your life, your thoughts on bags, your humor, you're a real one! :)
Rant or just pure reality? I find it most of the time… really relevant and understanding. Lately I am trying to avoid drowning in my own thoughts kind of guy…. Take care and keep being you… we love that guy!
I was hanging out at a bbq with Brecht Palombo in Massachusetts the other day and he mentioned your name. I was like "Hey, I know that guy" and he was like "No, you don't" and proceeded to describe you and I was like "The bag guy?!" and he confirmed one in the same. Small world!
The ramble at the end was my favourite part of this video lol. I have this Luma backpack and I love it if I'm just going around the city with my camera. Shit falls from the top into the camera cube area all the time though. Kind of annoying. For short trips, I definitely prefer the Wandrd Prvke 11L. The expandable roll top came in clutch many times.
I currently am the depressed/anxious/ramshackle/hoarder-lite lifestyle. Tired all the time, nothing smells right or tastes right. The heat is killing me. I'm striving for calm/chill/hippy/have- what-i-need-and-no-more who eats smart sleeps well. I'm making a pile of junk for the junkman to come and get. Digging the empty hole out so I can have space.
I've been traveling with a Nomatic Camera Cube pack and it's been really nice for personal travel. I travel with an a7c, 24-105 f/4 and 40 f/2.5 and it fits well in the camera cube portion. I can put it in my carryon or larger backpack without worrying about it getting banged up and when I get to my destination I have a nice little day pack to use.
My McKinnon 25L holds pretty much everything. I may need one more pocket but not an extra 10L. My filters are a tight squeeze but I can always strap a small pouch to the side so its no biggie. that Orange Luma is sick tho. straight out of starters imo.
One fragmented identity with different strands = different bags for each. 1. Content creator guy = Prvke 31 2. Sports Jacket business papers man = Paul Smith Tote 3. Dad proving he’s on top of things = Roka Waterhouse 4. I can travel light and solve any problem from a cafe guy = Alpaka flight sling 5. Isn’t nature wonderful dude = Osprey Flare 6. Time to burn it all to the ground zombie = Chrome Industries Kadet
I have a Brevite Jumper which I love because somehow it holds infinity items BUT I hate it because it is uncomfortable and offers no protection of anything and the straps are coming off. I had a 21L Prvke but it's so annoying opening the side flap inside the flap so I got the 11L and it hangs off the top of your back somehow. These Lumas look cool but I need to hang things off the outside when I go to the forest. There is no perfect bag. Maybe a Shimoda. GREAT VIDEO thanks for making things to watch!!!!!! :) I have the bleh too.
Chase I love you because you clearly are grappling with the big issue. The bleh. The God-shaped hole (as Christians would say). The void. Whatever. Accept the bleh. It's OK. Everybody has the bleh. Everybody. It is programmed in by evolution. Reviewing consumer products on UA-cam is a perfectly perfect thing to do with your life. So is driving a trash truck, or being a brain surgeon, or being a guy who delivers and picks up port-a-potties to work sites. And your work gives people joy, which is a bonus (I hate the cliche but it's true). Accept the bleh. Stop worrying about it. Do your little part whatever it is. And your current little part, your current hustle, is great. Maybe you'll change it some time or stop or cover new topics or wherever. We'll still love it. It is just as it should be.
I looked at this bag a bit ago and the reason I ended up saying no? Those water bottle gussets and for the silliest reason: I ride a motorcycle and I don't want wings. If only they'd gone the other direction. I could also see them maybe getting caught on things and flapping open weirdly. What do you mean my complaint is really weird and specific? Yeah, fair.
Also dangit man, top tier ramble. What am I doing? Just trying to get back on track. Lost my job a month ago (layoff) and my motorcycle was wrecked two days later (I'm fine and their insurance is picking up the tab for everything). I'm being super cautious with my money but you know what's really making the difference? The right people in my life. We have pets, they're awesome. My girlfriend just moved in officially two weeks ago and it's been amazing. I have my friends and I went through the process (therapy FTW) of detaching my self worth from my work years ago so I know I'll be OK. Eventually. There's light at the end of the tunnel. Just gotta start walking towards it, ya know? Best of luck to you, homie.

the nomatic luma link doesn't take me anywhere! I think the link is broken
That ramble was a 10/10. Just right.

Man, I feel that. In a similar place myself. Hope things work out well for you and you find the next thing soon.

Royal ramble, stab right into the heart.
Rant or just pure reality? I find it most of the time… really relevant and understanding. Lately I am trying to avoid drowning in my own thoughts kind of guy….
Take care and keep being you… we love that guy!
That hit hard, man. I felt all those things you said. I appreciate you saying things like this.
Here for the ramble.

That rant at the end, man. You're awesome. I also used to be a roller blader hahaha :D

Pretty similar to the smaller protactic from lowepro, but less tactical looking
The Ramble™️ starts @20:40
Do you have a recommendation for a convertible garment duffle bag?
I looked at this bag a bit ago and the reason I ended up saying no? Those water bottle gussets and for the silliest reason: I ride a motorcycle and I don't want wings.
