He talked about something my uncle mentioned too. North America was Native land before, my uncle always told me stories about the old days and how things were done back then. He talked about how people are discovering things about the galaxy when Native people already knew about these things beforehand. Not just Native Americans but all natives all around the world. He told me that all native people around the world are connected. BTW I'm Native & I live on a Reserve in Canada.

I'm a huge food history nerd, and food was how I was introduced to Cherokee culture at a young age (I'm a Georgia resident, New Echota isn't too far away). If you live in America, you enjoy many Native American recipes daily, and sadly, aren't aware enough to give credit. It's more than just frybread. Cornbread, succotash (a corn and veggies side dish nicknamed "vegetable medley" and sadly now sold in a can), jerky, chili, smoked salmon, guacamole, tacos, salsa, tamales, pozole, tortillas. You may think of this as "just food", but really it's Native American food. Only they really have the right to call it "just food" and we really should give them the credit. If it were a perfect world, Taco Bell would be called "Americanized Native American food".

When we visited Head-Smashed-Up Buffalo Jum, we ate buffalo burgers and bannock. When I taught in Indigenous communities, they would have round or tea dances. At these functions they would distribute tea, banock and buffalo burgers and then sing and dance.
