It worked!!! Thanks for sharing this. Our remote control was accidentally poured with water and I tried to use blower to remove the moisture inside but it didn't work. I immediately searched for a UA-cam video and I found yours.

Our remote was accidentally washed with the bed sheets. I took the battery cover off, removed the batteries and placed it in the sun for a few hours. Maybe we were just lucky, but this worked like a charm.

I heard a clunking noise(which isn’t normal since it’s only bedding) I looked in the bedroom and no remote. Panic ensued and I stopped the cycle. The remote is wet, but the battery compartment was only a tiny bit damp. It’s drying now, hopefully it still works lol

I fixed mine following your method but used WD 40 contact cleaner (not regular WD40) Thanks .

Probably better to use isopropyl Alcohol (if available), as it leaves no residue

All my hazy self did was to stick remote in alcohol and it worked as well

I washed my samsung Q60A remote and it still worked immediately after finding it washer. Its tiny and looks more airtight then your bigger remote
Will this work on ruku remote I dropped mine in milk I took it apart fast because it's so small
Yes should work with Roku remote, just youtube how to disassemble.
Then same process for cleaning out.

I had bad water damage and I wasn’t able to open my remote.. so I just kept the sides open and blow dried it for a while lol .. soon as I was about go ahead and buy a new one It started working again 😅

Mine ended up in the wash it works but now it goes through batteries like crazy
Just remove all the parts and keep it in sunshine for a while and change the battery it will work

Hi, I washed mine with Alcohol based sanitizer and it didn't work.... What else should I do🤔🤔
No, you must use isopropyl Alcohol.
The reason we use IPA is it does not leave any residue and does not damage the remote, plus the add advantage of absorbing water.
Checkout ebay, type in brand of remote + model number, you should be able to pick one up for $20.

Guys pls help me I accidentally wet the remote tv with my Hiro milk
I had to speed up the playback, so I wouldnt still be here a year from now.
