I don't know about you guys, but I personally LOVE all the changes it looks like they're making with this one. From the character movement, to the art style, to the music, to the menus.... Everything about it just screams style. This coming from someone who has played and loved all of the games since Innocent Sin.

Ong Yong Qin Ive played both 3 and 4. 3 on the psp (p3p i think) and p4 emulated. I dropped persona 3 4 hours or so in. The gameplay was really stale. And persona 4 simply didn't "click". Maybe the 1+ hour intro was what killed it for me. Oh, and the abysmal dungeon designs. My point, persona 5 seems to have fixed all those "issues" that i didn't like about the previous 2 games. Dynamic classroom Fast paced stealth sections The dungeon design looks 50 times better already It's fucking tokyo Twin tailed blond girl (instant best girl) And many many more. It running on the chatherin eengine is a huge plus, too.

The Catherine-esque artstyle, the whole like vigilante justice vibe, also the character designs, the dungeon exploration, those fucking new tasty ass jams (really excited for this soundtrack), even the fucking menu's just looks so much nicer and have character. The only thing im even slightly concerned with is that new mascot character, but hey, he might not be as bad as Teddie. Overall, fucking hyped

Day 5 of watching the P5 trailer: I have observed no loss in the funk. These jams are consistently good, something few songs can claim. The visuals are also maintaining their levels of appeal, and I am discovering new things every day. For instance, when Morgana was thrown into the billboard at the end, she morphed into a silhouette similar to that of Sakamoto from Nichijou. I doubt this is of any relevance, but it is an interesting anecdote regardless.

They did in a subtle manner. Compare this trailer to the other one. The first had the protagonist looking downtrodden and bored ride on a train that, despite being full has kinda lifeless and so where the busy streets; the protag is also lifeless to match like being a SLAVE in a dead end job. Now look at this trailer in that context trailer. Look at how vivid everything is while they're in their thief get up. As thieves they are free, liberated, EMANCIPATED and the protag is also act almost like a completely different character during these sequences. And I see that be a theme the game will go into: the slavery of the everyday and freedom of the extraordinary.
From what I found from the Megami Tensai Wiki, the characters(The slaves) had to follow the basic rule set within the boring and mundane society. These characters want to break themselves from the norms of society and obtain freedom for themselves(The emancipation). It is similar to one of Catherine's major themes regarding freedom.This will be the major theme of the game in the same manner Persona 3 & 4 centered around their own themes. I just hope the game will not too depressing compared to Persona 3's overall tone

Theo Truter As much as I would love to see a Catherine Prequel I doubt it will be in the same universe, Catherine was pretty vague with where it took place but considering they had American names it's more than likely it took place in America while Persona 5 will take place in Japan in the same universe as 1-4. I would love to see another game that explores the universe of Catherine though.
I think they are using the same engine so Catherine was kind of a tech demo in that regard. That, and you know same character artist so similar aesthetics aren't that far fetched

Ya it probably will at some point. I don't mind buying the game a second time for its "gold" version if I like the game. By the time the version with extra content comes out the PS4 will probably be cheaper though.

I read the novels. She has his own Aigis-like robot (male though) helping her out, plus she has long hair now. And no Kanji romance in it, so don't expect anything.

I think in past interviews they shed some light on it. The director has really mentioned the themes of this game several times in interviews.
They did in a subtle manner. Compare this trailer to the other one.
The first had the protagonist looking downtrodden and bored ride on a train that, despite being full has kinda lifeless and so where the busy streets; the protag is also lifeless to match like being a SLAVE in a dead end job. Now look at this trailer in that context trailer. Look at how vivid everything is while they're in their thief get up. As thieves they are free, liberated, EMANCIPATED and the protag is also act almost like a completely different character during these sequences.
And I see that be a theme the game will go into: the slavery of the everyday and freedom of the extraordinary.
From what I found from the Megami Tensai Wiki, the characters(The slaves) had to follow the basic rule set within the boring and mundane society. These characters want to break themselves from the norms of society and obtain freedom for themselves(The emancipation). It is similar to one of Catherine's major themes regarding freedom.This will be the major theme of the game in the same manner Persona 3 & 4 centered around their own themes. I just hope the game will not too depressing compared to Persona 3's overall tone
They're thieves, I think that gives a pretty big hint to those topics

I love this trailer. It is so stylish and done so well. I have been watching this almost nonstop trying to find other little things in the trailer other people or me might have missed. I can't wait for this game to come out!

Are you by any chance referring to when the guy gives off that demonic stare. From what I noticed from P3 and P4 is that when ever the protagonist first summons their persona they always have that demonic stare.

Due to the delay to 2015 in Japan. Atlus USA confirmed the NA version will release close to the JP release.
Atlus Japan actually forced NicoVideo to remove this trailer from their website so most viewers have to watch it here for monetization.

Theo Truter As much as I would love to see a Catherine Prequel I doubt it will be in the same universe, Catherine was pretty vague with where it took place but considering they had American names it's more than likely it took place in America while Persona 5 will take place in Japan in the same universe as 1-4. I would love to see another game that explores the universe of Catherine though.

I think they are using the same engine so Catherine was kind of a tech demo in that regard. That, and you know same character artist so similar aesthetics aren't that far fetched

Glad this is coming to PS3 as well as PS4. I game primarily on PC so I would have hated to buy a new console just for this, but now I can play on my PS3!

Ya it probably will at some point. I don't mind buying the game a second time for its "gold" version if I like the game. By the time the version with extra content comes out the PS4 will probably be cheaper though.
