If only the song was as good as what this video appears to be
When I listened to a new Grimes song, I was like wow I hope she has a new style now
It would be lame if she just released Visions 2.0
And yeah it's a new style for *her*, but it's actually a fairly generic pop song
We all know she can write catchy music
But she can make music that is so much more interesting like on her previous 3 albums and darkbloom
I'm really hoping this isn't on her next album and that this not define her new sound
It's a collaboration, let her be anyway.

after all a collaboration is supposed to add to the creativity involved in a project
In the end Grimes can do what she wants it's not about pleasing anyone
But if this is the direction her next album goes in then I'm more than a little disappointed that one of the most creative and unique musicians currently making dance music is making music that I believe sounds quite ordinary

The song was initially written for Rihanna, maybe that's why it has this pop vibe. I like pop, and maybe that's why I like it. But if she can make a pop song, yeah she can totally do better than that.

But Grimes' music is way better than Rihanna's
So if it wasn't good enough for Rihanna, it shouldn't be good enough for Grimes
It's not a bad song by any means but when I usually listen to Grimes I get blown away by how different and refreshing her sound is
Rihanna has better songs than this in my opinion, and I have never thought that of any Grimes track
and if this isn't what her new album will sound like it shouldn't be on there in the first place
so hopefully it isn't haha
It's cool if other people like it though, I'm sure Grimes herself loved it if she released it
in the end this turned into a sort of rant
but im just a passionate Grimes fan trying to stay calm ;-;
