Hyundai says that over 41 million used cars were sold around the world last year. However, just 3 years ago, a lot of cars lacked modern safety and infotainment tech and with new cars becoming so expensive, #Hyundai is introducing a new entry level SUV to attract price conscious and younger buyers into showrooms. The 2020 #HyundaiVenue starts at under $19,000 and includes standard equipment that was once reserved for pricey luxury cars. The #Venue is designed to compete in the sub-compact SUV segment and it replaces the old Accent hatchback in the US.

Amazing with this car’s fuel economy. I got 50 mpg on the highway once, which is insane and I always drive in the eco mode. This car’s fuel economy is better than most hybrids tbh. And honestly, this car feels peppy for only having 121 HP. I can get up to speed perfectly well on local roads and that IVT really helps with that.

@@jrtej9575 There's also the challenge for older folks with boarding and exiting cars which are low to the ground. And DDrummer's right; affordable, practical, straightforward appeals to a lot more than the senior demographic, especially when people have less cash on hand but still don't buy used. I'm hoping Hyundai has a hit on their hands across the age ranges.

If I'm in the market and got around $25k to spare, why would I buy a used SUV when I can buy this little gem brand new with that awesome manufacturer warranty untouched? When I think of used cars I'm talking a car worth less than $8,000 but not more than $10 k. Especially any other brand besides Kia and Hyundai, they already come with a very limited warranty so buying used and spending tons of money like over $15 k is a waste of money.

But on a flip side, it will go another 100K easy, has all them bells and whistles, a much more comfortable car and money I saved more than make up for gas guzzling part (I don't drive too much, but I still do). As a bonus: resale price of this new "bargain" Hyundai and my Denali after 100K will be pretty much the same.

I've noticed that with my friends and family, what they find most appealling about the Venue is the price and looks, but in terms of functionality, what they all really seem to want is an HR-V because much like the Fit is what the Civic used to be, the HR-V is what the CR-V used to be. In that regard, cars like HR-V and Subaru Crosstrek seem to actually be (or at least closer to) small SUVs versus other cars in the segment that are more just tall hatchbacks. I also live in Louisiana, so the taller the car the better for most people here and more people here seem to need more space than what the Venue can provide (Honda's magic seat is just brilliant).
