The Spy and The Butter marks the third decorating event appearance of Katherine in Homescapes, after Magical Holidays and Lovin’ Paris as well as the first time where she successfully kisses Austin in the 4-year history of Homescapes, after her failed attempt in the latter event. It is also the first in-game event to have the primary antagonist, which it was previously seen in the Kitchen of the Mansion and the Gym of the Country House. As such, Doctor Gloom is the third overall main villain after Stephanie Broom and Tim Tucker
