- Would you dare to try this multi-rig setup?
Whilst Mark Holmes is known for catching big fish he is also a man who dares to be different! Whilst avoiding the norm of today carp fishing, Mark utilises different PB Products components to create his own fishing creations and edges!
Not only is it a testament to the gear mark uses but it shows the versatility of the tackle from PB when you think differently!!

Nothing new here. Watched someone use pretty much exactly the same rig as this fishing in the weed on Alders trout lake over 30 years ago. He used a shot as an anchor with a critically balanced bait on a 4ft silkworm hooklink with 2ft closest the lead treated with superglue to stiffen it up to avoid tangles. Watched him catch 4 fish - all of them swam over the weed & we saw them take the bait from the high bank behind the swim.
Great advice as allways Mark💪
Mark sure dares to be different and his captures speak for themselves!! 👊

He sure do….and he is a top bloke too👌
@@PBPRODUCTSUKhope you get this message and I get a reply 🙏🏻just wondering what single hookbait is mark using with this rig ? Is it a bottom bait or pop up can both be used or not? And what pattern of hook is he using I noticed it’s a wide gaped hook with a turned in eye but almost looks as if he’s turned the eye in slightly more ? 🤔but I could be wrrong 🤷🏻♂️and lastly is this a rig suitable for all year depending on the lake bottom obviously or is it predominantly a winter rig because of the type of weed thats present as in comparison to the summer?
Very clever that i like that idea going to give it a go i fish something very similar but i use putty over the knot im going to try the tungsten tube instead really graet stuff.
Genius idea Mark will be making rig now to try next week.
Always dare to be different 💪
Brilliant result mark well done mate love the rig 😊
Thinking outside the box as always!!
Lovely stuff 👍 I wonder what the lay would be like with if you had rig tubbing on the hooklink 🤔
Do you mean shrink tube on the soft coated end?
@@PBPRODUCTSUK anti tangle tubing 👍
No extra weight at the lead end 😊
Hello m8 what make is your hoodie please......
He is wearing a PB Products Hoody bud!
Have I missed where he says whether it’s a pop up or bottom bait? I presume it’s a pop up but you never know with Mark 🙈 seeing as he loves a bottom bait as per his last rig demo
This is fished on a straight out the bag bottom bait with marks liquid soaked bottom baits bud
@@PBPRODUCTSUK why do you need to counter balance it with weight then? sorry it’s just not explained … that’s why I thought it was a pop up. Surely over weed you wouldn’t want more weight than is required.
@@jamesbarr6379 The point mark has made on this is to help keep the the most important part of the hook link pinned down , whilst also aiding hooking. By doing so instead of using putting he can help keep it pinned down with the concept above
@@PBPRODUCTSUK thanks guys 👍🏽
Or use a chod rig and cast as far as you like.
Albeit a valid point but Mark fishes with bottom baits and has banked many big fish using this tactic, for the chod rig to of worked he would of had to deviate from fishing on the bottom
@PBPRODUCTSUK not at all. Just using a bottom bait on a stiff section like he's already doing. But have more contact with the chod setup. Using the bead high is like using a long rig without the anxiety.
Well, that's different.
How does that "flutter" down with a three bait pva bag on??? Makes absolutely no sense??! I honesty think at times your on a wind up!!!!!
Well he seems to be doing something right with the amount of big uns he catches. But look forward to hearing about all your big uns Darryl Clarkson maybe you’re the wind up 😂😂😂
The funnel web would act like a drogue as it falls through the water after the lead. Almost a yard long that hook link.
You can always put some foam nugs in your PVA bag to help. Think some call it the parachute rig?
@@walmead Two solid answers have been put forward there, not everybody is right in what they think and everybody has an opinion which is what keeps the carp on their toes. The thought process behind this is to slow the rig down and to lay on top of low lying weed, he must be correct as it worked for him landing not only the biggest fish in the lake on this setup but bracing it with just under 100lb of fish!
The long boom is doing nothing to aid presentation, especially when you stick a mesh bag on it. A std heli set up and a critically balanced bait will do the job just as well.
Or a long running balanced naked chod....😉
