  • When you see a fighter block a punch and land a clean counter, that's not luck -- that's a skill that was developed over hours of repetition. One of the drills to improve your counter-punching capabilities is this trigger counter mittwork drill, great for boxing and MMA.

I've been studying martial arts for a little over 20 years, seen many techniques from many teachers. I see that you kids are solid, and must of had good teachers yourselves. Good luck to you with your channel.

Holy shit, I tried this yesterday at the boxing gym and damn, it was epic. I was fighting a guy that was about 6´1 (I am 5´9), so he had a big reach advantage and classic counters would have been very difficult (I have been training boxing only for about 3 months, so I am not really that skilled yet), but these? I landed soooo many clean counters that I couldn´t believe it. THANKS

i like how shane isn't just a guy who knows not only how to fight, but he also knows the science behind it. he's definitely no idiot
edit: i called shane, kyle. i have no clue why, must've been an accident lmao

You can still generate power shots with these counter strikes.
Vincente Luque does this so well. He throws the left hook from the left block and throws the right overhand over the right block.

Amazing slick counters I love it, I naturally like to parry or block and trigger counter, I didn't knew it was a actual technique, I just did them all my life, fighting of bullies in school.. I never been trained but going to join a muay Thai gym by my house..

i like and practice these counters they all work beautiful, the only thing is in sparring when they throw a strait right to the head i block but the counter to throw back seams hard to land, works great on the mitts but harder in sparring. but if they throw the right hand wide like an overhand or a hook or they throw it strait to the body i find it easyier to counter like everything else they throw especially anything they throw with there left.(speaking of same side counters orthodox vs orthodox)

I kind of want to see more videos about street fight stuff like there was at the beginning of the channel. I love the direction that it’s taken with Shane turning into more of a coach and talking about ring fighting but I think it’d be pretty cool to make a couple videos from the roots of the channel
