Those tires looked fun!
k i learnt in the army for breaking a bead is to drive onto the tire, or lower the vehicle into it. in this case with such rust i think i would go with a ramp and your tow vehicle. drive over in, then turn and repeat until it all pops down.
Rear tractor 🚜 tires with tire spoons 🥄 dayum. 😮 Color me impressed.
watching this I remember doing things the hard way like this. many years ago. Nice to be that young full of stamina. hope to see the rebuild. You have my respect for showing your determination to do a hard and difficult job. you should be very proud of the final result.
Nice work Congrats with the new baby
The wrench with the ruler is a plow wrench. used for adjusting the plow and measuring the depth of your furrows
Dude I have removed tires from rims in my shop as you just did! But I never would tackle my rear tractor tires! Kudos to you! 👌👌😎
Can't wait to see it go back together
sir, i watch your channel with the greatest of interest. i have had these projects too. i saved 2 cat. thirtys when i was about your age. after teaching high school for 40 years. 36 in a state trade school, i question my ability to convey the depth of respect that i have for you. your work is of the highest quality... just like yourself.
Congratulations! Doing a great job way more ambition than I have, I mean even new tires.
Congrats on the baby👍🏼 looking forward to the next video
First is best to the two of you on baby! Not sure I would of bit that one on film.. falling off of the jackstand is a rookie move and you know it so you whipped yourself the most but the keyboard engineers will trash ya for being honest. Taking the tires off of those rims is pure hell and not sure I would of done that much pounding for love or money. Your not a pretty face youngen..... you get high scores from me for the endurance of this hard to please old tractor. I've seen you tackle some tuff jobs and get it worked out... your going to wind up being a dang good mech and can be proud of your talents as they gain in time.
I subbed in. Nice video. The struggles are real but the payoff is worth it. Like how you don’t edit out the fails. That’s how we all learn.
Wow those rear tires are still perfectly good. A few cracks smackes, still good.
Can't wait to see videos rebuilding her😊
Fantastic video. You doing good job editing.
Brother you need to invest in a turbo nozzle for your power washer. It makes a smaller power washer into a beast.
Thanks for sharing your adventures and good luck with the new addition!!
Never and idle moment with you! Must take after the ole man. 😂. Good video and the hickory was a good call. Good luck with the baby coming.
Congratulations on the baby! Could you add some detail about what went wrong with the jack stand? I'm not an expert but my impression was that jack stands are reasonably safe most of the time. Glad you're OK!
It was just not that stable, they suffer from wobbly loads falling side to side. That’s what happened here.
What a mess that was.
Looking forward to the next vid.
Older tire machines are cheap on FB if you really wanted one. I have an old coats 10/10 in my shop and my friends love using it for auto and truck tires. Of course it can only do much but at 65 years young and disabled with severe pain issues I couldn't get by w/o it. I wish I could help rebuild one of your many engines as I love learning new stuff, even at my age etc. Of course I live too far away and that sucks. I'm very mechanically inclined. Good job catching this issue before it got worse.
Thank you for sharing, another great video 👍👍👍👍
starting to look new again
Awesome Channel
Some times best let the tire shop do them unless you like the work out lol
Whenever trying to dismount or mount a tractor tire. Use gasoline on the bead. It softens it up and lubes it. Makes it 10000% easier. But it just doesn’t last too long due to it evaporating.
I have a 861D my dad bought new my power steering shaft seal is leaking.I saw you did yours, where did you get the seals an does the seal go from outside in or do you have to take the pump apart
You have to take the shaft out of the front of the pump if you have the sleeve pump like I do. There’s a snap ring after you take the pulley off holding the bearing in then the seal is behind that.
That was some old school busting ass on them tires fer sure, yeah thatll seperate the boys from men real quickly.i woulda at least cheated on the tires taking them to a shop not the small fronts just the back ones.cant wait to see its rebirth, congradts on the prodigy!!snooky pa.💥😇😇👍💥
Rod bearing on cylinder 2 is gone. you could see rod banging around. Never-mind you figured it out lol. Just funny how it was so bad but could hardly hear it when engine running.
If no ridge at the top of the cylinders, I’d give the cylinders a light hone to restore the crosshatch, and as long as the piston skirts look good, I’d just re ring it, turn the crank and new bearings.
make sure you have the injectors and the injection pump checked or rebuilt before running this engine. You spent the time and money for the rebuild, don't let the remaining old parts be an unknown that could potentially destroy what you have rebuilt.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I've seen that many times. Guy skimps out on the fuel system and the machine never starts or runs good. And in no time he has a screwed up engine again.
Yeah luckily I’ve already done a DB2 pump and have the injector tester. I definitely will go through it!
I know it cost a lot to rebuild that motor. But just think about what you will have when done.
So you do this to stay in shape? Separating those wheels and tires seemed exhausting
Nice job. Thank you..
You should roll your truck up on them tires to break them down alot easy
you doing a great mate but ill say one thing , you can never have to much chain lol
I noticed when tearing down the engine it didn't have the internal balancer in it.these motors didn't start out with them from ford but they quickly started putting them in.without it they will vibrate themselves apart
This was one of the tractors without a balancer. I cannot find any info on what is needed to add. If you know how to or what parts I need please point me in the right direction!!!
Wow nice engine i love it
What's the rule of thumb on these old 172 diesels for blowby? How's the best way to check for it and how much would be ok?
Nice work on tearing down you're pretty gung ho dude! If it was me I wouldve just pulled the engine out an just focus on that an putting all my energy on the engine so I can do a good rebuild job. It's amazing how much you forget if you tear apart a lot of stuff at the same time. Once engine done then move on to next thing. That's just me everybody is different.
was it me or were the #3 cylinder rocker arms not moving?
Oil pump valve spring?
Dam one more to go lol
You are right on becoming a man. Those tires.put the whoop on your backside. Will be putting new tires on or the old ones back on . Absolutely hope to see this old girl come back to life.
Why don’t you take the damn things to a tire shop?
Easy there tiger! He’s trying to save some money. He has the downtime, so might as well do it himself.
tear it completely apart put sleeves, pistons, rings. valve job, new valve springs at least have crank ground, all new bearings, oil pump, clutch and that machine will last another 60 years
Ok I must confess I’m McCormik, Farmall, IHC true and blue BUT I have ran the 8N, 9N and Fordson and I declare them as JUNK. I don’t care what anyone says because I’ve seen them broke, blown apart at low hours, and worse. Just poor quality and short term longevity.
It’s all we’ve really ever had in my family and the 800 backhoe we’ve had has been amazing. Always there and ready to work. Hopefully this is the same!
I have my grandpa’s old 64 Ford 4000 backhoe (basically an 800 series) with the gas motor. As far as I know, the engine has never been apart. Just had a 12v conversion and electronic ignition swap. It sits for months at a time, but always starts and runs like a champ. I got no complaints…..
I don't understand you fighting with those bigass tires when you can take them to a tire shop and save alot o headache, ??????
I'm exhausted just watching you work on those tires.
