Full review in the comments as it is VERY, VERY LONG and it does not fit here.
List placement (As of upload date): #3 (Official TRIA.os list)
Personal list placement: #3
List rating: ⭐7.38 (Low Eternal) | FE2 Translation: ⭐9.12 (Bottom Ethereal Crazy)
Personal list rating: ⭐7.38 | FE2: ⭐9.12 - Legit i only agree to the stated list rating because of how buggy this map is, and also factoring it's chokepoints and random difficulty spikes. Otherwise, i would most likely rate this lower than The Beast I Worship V1, as I legit believe it's the harder map overall, and the fact that the number of victors on this map versus TBIW V1 (The ratio is literally 10:1 lmfao) just goes to prove it is.

dear god, i just read your full review and i can imagine the excruciating pain you must've been through. it took me 400+ attempts to complete Layers, with around ~75 of them being due to the final stretch. i was actually having a mental breakdown and genuinely close to actually crying of anger and exasperation especially since i had already completed layers before 1.0, but had to rebeat it for the completion award. thing is, the first time i completed layers took way less than my 2nd completion for some reason, even though it didnt feel like much changed from 0.11 to 1.0 other than the physics and the apparent click part pace buff. yet i dont think it will ever come close to your experience with this.
Great damn GG, my guy. you definitely deserve it for all you've been into.🎉

Prepare yourself for the biggest yap anyone has and will ever dedicate to a map about escaping floods. This is actual insanity. Part 1 of the review.
Rating: 8/10 - There is a lot to unpack here. And brace yourself cause this map has a lot more than what the naked eye meets. For one I want to love this map, give it the highest rating i've ever given to a map about escaping floods, though unfortunately the map's design on it's gameplay behalf is just not it at times. The map is divided by sections, parts, whatever you call. First off you start with some easy jumping, just the casual, regular platforming right at the beginning with a couple of buttons you have to press to follow through. Once you've made it past this section things pick up a pace significantly cause then follows the first tower of the map on which you have to execute slightly more complex platforming and jumps, using TRIA's exclusive wallrun mechanic, which, if not used to already, can easily throw anyone off as the wallrun is actually a lot faster than you'd think, so if you miss or don't time your jump properly you'll be let off at the end of it, from which you won't be able to make a comeback and the lava will get you. Right off the wallrun there are orbs, which once again, can throw one off if not used to them, but basically you just press spacebar again when you are in one, which should launch you in the direction it's set in, nothing too much of a big deal, just 3 quick, timed taps and you should be good to go. Now you find yourself outside the tower, just doing some normal, yet a bit complex platforming once again, latching and timing off wallruns, orbs and other stuff around, successfully making it into the first major point of the map, Phase 1. Here it's nothing more than what you've already done, gameplay remains at a consistent difficulty but here comes the major issue the map is unfortunately faulty of. Chokepoints. Now, you won't notice as soon as you've reached Phase 1, but if you relaxed a bit seeing as the gameplay is nothing new of what you have already done previously, you'll soon be hit with a reality check just short of the minute mark into the map. Don't get me wrong with this but genuinely this map can be very misleading and often confusing with it's pace as the lava can act a little funny at given times, cause they decided, for some reason, to add random pace checks every now and then throughout the whole map; which, you know, they make sure you are on time and not behind. But like, these could've been done a lot better cause hear me out chat, when the pace has been consistent for nearly a minute of gameplay into the map. why you'd suddenly make it catch up significantly at a set moment, and then make it return to what it was before, consistent and without random spikes in the difficulty? I don't get why they decided to add this to the gameplay and i mean it cause the map would be a lot more enjoyable, and accessible to a more broad audience if these were tweaked or reworked for the better, cause not many have the dexterity or reflexes required to hit, time and execute every jump up and leading to the specific pace checks every now and then, and the fact that you have the pressure of doing everything flawless until that point doesn't help at all, when the gameplay is casual and relaxed most of the time. Leaving this aside, if you've made it past around 0:59 (Which is where the pace check im talking about is), then you can relax cause yeah as i've just stated the pacing becomes very lenient afterwards and you can do everything without the pressure of the pacing catching up significantly in the end. Just make sure to do everything smoothly (and not sweating/perfectly like how the pace checks require you to do), and you're good to go, ending with the first part of the map and into the second part of the map, or the first phase if you will, a teleporter after a walljump spam which is nothing too much of a big deal.
Thankfully this next section is a lot more relaxed and lenient as you're able to do every jump here without fear of being caught by the pace that will harass you for a couple of more times later on the map. This is actually my favorite part of the map for this reason, and because of it's ambience cause damn, it is gorgeous. I love the details on this map, the build, the atmosphere, the vibe, essence, concept, everything you can imagine, quality-wise, this map has it all maxed out. And for good reason too cause a map with this theme, this name, it just has to be good, zero room for any faults in the quality cause you are literally ascending to heaven as it's name explicitly states, so of course it's got to deliver some good stuff here when we talk about it's detail and quality. When you go to it's gameplay aspect, however... It's not exactly that it's bad, but rather it could've been executed, done better in various occasions, that's for sure. I've already pointed out one of the major issues the map unfortunately suffers from, that hinders it from being possibly the greatest flood escape map ever made. Following up to the next section, after hitting quite a significant amount of orbs here (this section for some reason uses a lot of orbs i don't know why lol), you're greeted into the second tower of the map, just like the first, but a lot bigger, harder and longer. Things here pick up significantly after this point, which is around 2:07 into the map and this brings me to another of the major issues the map suffers from: Unbalancement. If you thought the chokepoint at 0:59 was bad, brace yourself cause after 2:07 the map shows absolute no mercy cause not only does the gameplay spike up in terms of difficulty, but so does the pace and oh boy is it a significant increase over from the previous section. It's most notably wraps, the source of it's difficulty given the way they're designed and placed, paired along with some other complex platforming and tight jumps that require a high level of reflexes and dexterity, specially on the wallruns here. And let's not forget the pace either, make one small mistake and you're on thin ice to dying completely as it is a LOT more strict than what you'd think, and it'll for sure catch up to you towards the end of this part if you slack off. Sure, even if you made a small mistake, you can still clutch up, like how i proved multiple times during my time playing this, but keep in mind that, once again, not many have the ability to do such, and it'll for sure be a frustrating experience dying here as it's notably far into the map, and well they'll have to do the effort of getting there again. Now, don't get me wrong, this part is actually not as bad as im making it look like, it's actually fun when you hit every jump and execute everything smoothly, without zero interruptions that could bug you or even possibly end your run on the unluckier cases, it's just the fact that the overall difficulty of this part alone, is possibly harder than the rest of the first half of the map combined, which needless to say it makes up for great unbalance overall.
Second part in the reply cause it's very long lol.
(Part 2 of the review)
The next major section or phase 2 of the map is actually pretty fun to do, as things take a turn for the speedy since your speed is boosted and now you're making quick dashes across platforms in the heavenly lands, cause man the build here is absolutely gorgeous. There's really nothing bad i have to say about this part besides the fact that you can easily slip here due to the higher speed, which is not the map makers fault but more so how the Roblox physics engine behaves with higher character walkspeeds, so yeah keep this in mind. It's all about corner-cutting and making sure you don't miss platforms to get enough speed and live past the few pace checks this part has, notably after the wallrun to orb once you've pressed the first button here, and the one right at the end of it, where you run up stairs and jump into a heavenly white light that will teleport you into the next area. Again, just watch out for the pace check, specially the one right at the end, which believe it or not is a lot more strict than you'd think. Just make sure you do everything smoothly, not over-the-top perfect like how other sections require you, but nicely and with as little mistakes as possibly, cause the lava rises scarily at the end, leaving you basically zero time to react, and if you time your jump poorly at the end you're next to dead as you won't be able to jump next for some reason, as if your jumping ability were cancelled because of it. So unless you are the pace G.O.A.T. and had about 1 second of spare time, if something like this were to happen, that's where your run will end and it's Ggs.
Thankfully the next area is a lot more chill and relaxed, with very basic and straightforward jumps, without having to worry too much about the lava harassing you. Just hit the button there, take the wallrun, let it drop you off at the end and look for the orb that will launch you forwards to the gate that will soon open. Enjoy your time here, since this part only lasts for ~15 seconds before the map goes back to requiring pretty much perfection as to not die to the pacing lol.
Now this area, the second-to-final area is the reason why this map is listed at ⭐7.38 in Eternal rating, and ⭐9.12 in Ethereal rating. If you thought the difficulty spike after 2:07 on the first half of the map was bad, brace yourself cause this is so, so much worse. First off, there's some gameplay leading up to phase 3/final major part of the map. Straight forward jumping, just make sure to time every single jump here as well as you can cause they deceive a lot more than what the naked eye meets. Either take the left or right path for the linked button, push it, return to the main area, have quick reaction time with the orbs and wallruns that will lead you to the final button of the map, press that one and lastly, jump to take the zipline that will drop you off at Phase 3. If you did everything perfectly up until that point, you shouldn't worry too much about playing perfectly here, though do NOT let it catch you off guard cause holy nuts, is the difficulty spike here MASSIVE. In both pace and gameplay, it's as if all of your efforts had led you up to this point, to the final challenge of the map, that will ought to test your capacities to the greatest. How fast can you be, how quick can you react and turn, how accurate can you be in your timings; but more importantly, how consistent can you be to endure all of this for about ~45 seconds of gameplay, and not break, tear or rip through the immense pressure you have on you for the pace shows absolutely no mercy whatsoever, as it stops playing around and gets serious, and i mean it. It's honestly kinda epic if you view it like that, im gonna be honest. Or if you prefer... one big piece of shit, cause genuinely What The Fuck. What in the actual hell was going through the people who developed and created this map when they decided and thought this would be a good idea. The difficulty spike here is actually so ridiculous it's just comical, the way the overall difficulty becomes about 2 and 1/2 times harder than anything else you've faced on the rest of the map alone. Now the good news is that if you did the first few jumps of this properly, without any bullshit like low-jumping or high-jumping, then you're pretty much set and should be able to do the rest smoothly, without too much trouble. But this is not as easy as it sounds on paper cause the first few jumps are very prone to bullshit like missing the platform entirely, over-jumping or under-jumping them given the way these were designed, so it takes a while to figure out what's the most optimal way to do these jumps and then execute them properly in a real scenario. On top of having to do them with the ridiculous time limit you have because of the pace that requires literal perfection, of course. Also watch out for the conveyors, and make sure to time them as well as you can, cause the first one is a lot trickier than it looks like. Time it a bit poorly, and you won't get enough height to properly reach the platform up next. It's a lot worse than what im making it look like. Make sure to airdive when needed to save as much time as possible, on top of the greatest timings you can provide on the wallruns and ziplines which are key to progressing and not dying, so yeah. The second half of this part, where the beat repeats/bis, is thankfully a lot better to do, in terms of everything. As long as you do the first few jumps properly (once again), without zero interruptions in the process, you're good to go. It's actually kinda fun when you do everything butter smooth, and i've gotta give it props for that, but then again this might not always be the cause given the way some of these platforms and jumps are designed, which can be very, very frustrating if one happens to unfortunately fall victim to any sort of thing that's out of their control, or just straight up bullshit because of the bad design of them. And of course it also takes a while getting used to this, practicing every single bit and learning the best ways to do these jumps. Sounds nothing too bad on paper, but then again, the problem is the fact that the difficulty spikes up immensely here, requiring the best of the best when it comes to skills. And mind you some people just simply do not have those capabilities others are just naturally born with, or just haven't developed them enough to match the requirement. This is a problem because Ascension To Heaven presents itself as a map accessible to a broad audience, as it's gameplay is not the main source of the difficulty, but rather the length of the map, so the only thing that stops anyone who dares try it from beating it, is their own endurance and consistency, since the gameplay remains at a consistent, set difficulty for most of the map. This is how i view the map, at least, since it offers a high level of difficulty, but it also tries to be highest quality possible and therefore the most accessible to any form of player, without focusing too much on a very niche skillset, or anything around that. And it just has to be this way, because of the map's name and theme. You are literally Ascending To Heaven as it name suggests, so the quality has to be really good to meet the expectation of being in heaven, and it achieves this perfectly. It's just the gameplay that isn't it at times, for example on phase 3 when you have something like this, where now you're testing the players gameplay skills along with their consistency, it kind of breaks the main point of the map's goals, about it's length being the difficulty source. And the fact that this is literally on the second to last section doesn't help at all, it just contributes to the map having an unbalanced difficulty, where certain sections are much harder than others, instead of flowing nicely, with small but not ridiculous spikes in difficulty on each area. Legit the map would be rated at around ⭐7.18 TRIA rating and ⭐8.65 in FE2 rating if it weren't for the absurd spike in difficulty.
If you somehow managed to endure all of the pressure phase 3 gives to anyone who has made it that far, then the final stretch should be easy enough to pull it off in one's first attempt after making it past the section before. It's definitely the chillest section, just some straightforward jumps and timings on the wallruns and ziplines, juggling across one-another to avoid falling victim to the spikes, and so. Depending on how well you can control your nerves, these should not be a problem at all, they are actually very easy to do. But in case you're nervous, just take one deep breath right after you're done with phase 3, which should help you relax a little and hit these times appropriately. No pace to harass you, no perfection required, just timings. It's all about that. And if you were able to do them properly, the final jump should be a breeze; your speed is boosted, the gates will soon open once you've made it there, all you have to do is time it accordingly. It's not even a super duper strict timing either, it's actually a lot easier than you'd think. I didn't time it as well on my completion and jumped earlier than what i would've preferred in my completion and yet i still made it, so yeah don't let it scare you as it does not bite. Congratulations, you have Ascended To Heaven.
(Part 3 // A lot of swearing. Viewer discretion heavily advised. Yes, i lost my mind, im sorry.)
Enjoyment rating: -20/10 - Alright, cameras are gone, microphones are turned off, and now i can finally be myself. SCREW. THIS. MAP. FUCK YOU. I DID NOT ENJOY PLAYING THIS AT FUCKING ALL. THE FUCKING WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD AS OF RECENT TIMES BRO. FUCKING 60+ PHASE 3 DEATHS, ALL TO ABSOLUTE FUCKING SHIT AND NEARLY OVER 100 ATTEMPTS AT THE SECOND HALF. Why. Just, why me. Bro. I FUCKING. Died at the final fucking stretch, cause the fucking walljump right before the fucking ziplines did NOT LAUNCH ME WITH ENOUGH POWER TO LATCH ONTO THEM. HOW FUCKING COOL IS THAT. ISSUE THAT COULD'VE BEEN EASILY AVOIDED, HAD THEY THOROUGHLY PLAYTESTED THE MAP. And im not even addressing the many fucking times i was robbed to either bugs, frame drops or just straight up bullshit. Just the amount of frame drops alone cover nearly 1/3 of my total attempt count, most notably after 2:07 into the map (yes, that part). Cause for whatever-fucking reason, i'd always get a fucking frame drop on the first few jumps of that section after the teleporter. It was always there, not in another place, but there. Always there, a frame drop. Around 50 times this happened. 50 attempts i could've had at the second half of the map, but oh no i just had to get a fucking frame drop there. Every. Single. Time. And don't get me on the fucking bugs bro. This map is more plagued with bugs than a redditor's infected mold matress. Fucking gambling on the wallruns they don't fuck you up like we're on fucking Sols RNG. Get even the slightest frame drop or lag spike, and you're 99% likely that the wallrun will either 1. Drop you off in the middle fucking air without any chance to jump. Or 2. It either drops you off randomly, or you get fucking teleported behind the wallrun. So good luck if your device doesn't have decent specifications, and can't sustain a smooth experience on this map. Just gotta pray at that point bro. This fucking took me what i calculate is just shy of 80 hours on playtime, which is over 10 times than what it should've taken me at 7 hours instead. And that's also accounting for time wasted on bullshit. Cause for one, 2 hours, 30 minutes into the first half separately, i was already right at the end of the map, but somehow died as i was late even though i performed seemingly flawless, should've beaten it then, at that time, not just fucking 8 hours 30 minutes later at 11 hours in total. For two, 2 hours, 30 minutes into the second half separately, i had already beaten the map, but of course something "interesting" just had to happen on my winning attempt and i had to redo it as to not cause controversy and have people on my meat bothering me about it. And of course the fucking rebeat takes me an extra ~6 hours 30 minutes of playtime to make up for 9 hours in total. And lastly, thirdly, 2 hours into the full thing, the full map, i was already making it into phase 3, which by-the-way i would've fucking beat this on day 3 of the grind since i started playing the map (December 16th - 19th) but oh no i just had to get robbed ~8 times on phase 3 that day. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. Foolish me, innocently thinking i'd get it done tomorrow, being as optimistic as i've ever been about it. 55. Hours. Later. That's your number. To make up for around 77 hours of final playtime. Fucking 57 hours on the full map alone. Seriously What The Actual Fuck. What should've taken me around 4 to 5 hours in total (if we substract 1 hour of wasted time on bullshit out of each), takes me 15 times more. Chat. I don't know if this is sane, or worth it anymore. You guys don't really know what i had to go through this during the time i was grinding this. I don't even know whether to laugh or cry about my achievement in the end. I don't know if i'll be able to keep up, if i keep spending shit ton of time than what i should on future map completions like this. One day i just won't be able to keep up, and i won't have other option but to give up, which i was on the verge of doing so during this grind. It was an extremely frustrating experience. More than what im admitting to.
So uh. I guess this is the end here. This is by far the longest piece of literature i've ever dedicated to a map about escaping floods. And i don't think something will ever top this, or well, at least anytime soon. Fun fact i had to rewrite nearly the entire review cause the first time i was writing it, because it was on Discord chat and i was already over the words limit, my entire review, which was around 13k characters worth (I have Nitro as of writing this, so i was at 17k characters) disappeared because i innocently clicked on another server and, well, the rest is history. As for what's next? I have no idea, i plan on finishing projects i have pending before my time eventually comes on this game. Yes, Im aware that The Beast I Truly Worship is missing, and man if you knew the full story about it, but oh well, that's for another day. For now i plan to do everything important in the upcoming month so yes, big things are actually coming and this time for real. As always, stay tuned for more.
There we go. Yapped out absolutely everything i had to say about this map. No restrictions, no holding myself back. Everything uncensored.
