You, my friend, are by far the best educater dealing with orchid care and appreciation of them! Guaranteed to learn something new every time I watch. And you don’t look that tall!
it's the long skinny legs that give me the height , that's why I make sure I never show them 🤣 We are so glad you find our content interesting and flattery get you everywhere , thank you so much for your comment we really appreciate it 😍🫂
Im clapping here from excitement, always giving us the best... Now i know what to do in winter, I have mine in bark and they are giving me plenty new canes, i just need to wait for a bit longer and then ill enjoy the flowers after neglecting them in winter. Thanks for your invaluable tips baba Peter. I appreciate you!! Cheers
Oh my gosh! How awesome as I have just got mine. Your advice is great. A few questions: can they live with morning only sunlight inside? Or direct sun all day? hanging outside?
if they are getting full morning sun and very bright light the rest of the day that should be enough , they will also grow well in the sun all day , you were in Durban right ?
It's fascinating that it has a variety of ecotypes. The flower reminds me of Arachnis flos-aeris, yet the care requirements are similar to our native orchid, Dendrobium capra, which also shares similar concerns. Thank you 🍃💚🍃💚
hello there, i've been growing orchids since i was a child , live in Belgium; just wanted to tell you a few things : first of all i think you are an amazing educator, and you're showing and giving the right info on growing different orchids. secondly in this case as you pointed out the light factor is a very important one (with all orchids) last autumn and winter was very dark in Belgium , exepctionally even and i didn't get any flowers at all. i think that in some parts of the world together ith climate change it is getting more difficult to cultivate orchids care free; but i guess we're all going for them !
Thank you so much we really appreciate your high praise 🫂😍 It is very interesting to hear what is happening to peoples orchids around the world and climate change is making it easier for some and more difficult for others 😁but we all need to some how adapt . Did you just have a lot of cloud cover over winter ? Last year we had nearly 3 months in Spring where we only had a few days of sunshine , all light rain and mist everyday . Some of the orchids really did not like it one bit . Have a wonderful day and thank you again your comment makes us want to keep going . Thank you . 💕
This is a new species for me ( I recently added one to my collection) & I really enjoyed learning more about it. New subscriber here & fellow orchid grower as well. Have a lovely day 💜.
Awesome! They will bring you great joy .. Thank you for joining us 🫂💕 If ever you do things differently to us , just give a shout as to how you go about things , it is always good to hear how different people grow from different areas 👍

Ansellia africana.. that's such a beautiful name for an orchid, so pure, no 'tongue twister'😉
So true! it is a elegant name you are 100% right 👍 some of the others I just can't say🤣🤣🤣
Thank you so much for providing a video on these orchids. Now I have a better view of how I should be caring for mine.
You are very welcome . We are glad it was helpful 🫂 Happy growing and thank you for your feed back we really appreciate it 💕

Yes! I have an eastern window sill. Morning sunshine.
that sounds good , just as long as the light stays bright all day long , and the orchid does not out grow the window sill 🤣
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!

also I can see the resemblance just shorter petals lol . That Dendrobium is not easy for us to get here but I should add it to my must have list 😍

The Ansellias are gorgeous.. I love the diversity within the genus (specie?) 😍. I had no idea you were so tall though!
they really do make a statement , for sure some get huge , but not all 👍
