I've got a main over 250 and over 2k hours, blah, blah, blah. I tested all of the new 20 starter builds. For Mike, I would have suggested the Shotgun option. Melee in 76 is powerful without speccing into it. So are shotguns, if you have access to Cold Shoulder. (Clarity - Shotguns are good with perks, but a few seasons back they gave us Cold Shoulder and that turns out to be a slapper. Don't even need perks for that thing to work. Now it is a shop item.) Melee and Shotgun builds are both Strength based with a few perks in other stats. It's possible to spec into 2 weapon types like Melee and Rifles, but you have to pick groups governed by different stats. - Melee = Str - Shotgun = Str - Rifles/Commando = Perception - Pistols/Guerilla = Agility - Big Guns is the most spread out. Starts in Str, but has stuff in Int and Luck as well. - Then there is Automatic Melee. Damage is Str, but you'll need Int for repairs and to slow durability loss, cuz they lose durability FAST. Also, they drain AP, so you'll need Agility and Endurance.
