Everything you said is spot on and bonus points for, yeah the Crow sequels were bad, but Salvation is the best In the "yeah, it's not perfect, but it legit tries to be different " and that's some shine it deserves. It's not a the best film, but compared to 2 and 4 it tried and because it definitely went a different route plot wise, it deserves what little flowers it gets ☺️

I wasn't aware of that, so I actually looked into it, and yeah, you're right. Tim Pope (Director) and David S. Goyer (Writer) both distanced themselves from the project after Miramax interfered during production. They took control of post-production and re-edited the movie to resemble the original as closely as possible.
Interestingly, Pope and Goyer initially went out of their way to ask fans what they wanted, and the response was clear: something completely different from the original. Pope and Goyer obliged. The original idea was for Sarah to become the new Crow and have the focus be on her. However, this idea was scrapped, and instead, the story of Ashe Corven avenging his son was used.
It's fascinating to see how much a film can change from its original vision due to studio interference. It makes you wonder what the movie could have been if the creators had been allowed to follow through with their initial concept.
Thanks for bringing that interesting point up and I appreciate the comment.

@@Rebel_Rewrite tbh I liked salvation just didn't really like the actor at times it seemed like he was reading off his lines off a paper and he barely rehearsed it moreover the plot was actually very interesting as for city of angels with that being said about sara I would live to see a female crow depiction on the big screen of the iris shaw story or even yhe crow bride has some big potential

Yeah, the production quality of the sequels-including actor performances-wasn’t the best. Sometimes, an actor’s performance can really impact the overall experience, even if the plot is engaging.
As for “City of Angels,” I agree that a female iteration of The Crow would have been something different and interesting to see. I didn’t really care for Iris Shaw’s story, though. It felt too similar to what we already have.
“The Crow: Curare,” where the ghost of the deceased helps a living person get revenge, could offer an interesting and new change of pace. This twist adds a new dynamic to the series, blending the supernatural with a more grounded narrative

Hey Johnny, I'm glad to hear from you again. I’m sorry to hear about your grandpa’s passing. Losing loved ones is difficult, even when you know it’s coming. It’s good that you and your family were able to prepare. I'm sure that helped.
It’s great to hear that watching the original The Crow helped with your loss. Sometimes, movies and stories can provide a unique way to process our emotions and find solace.

This wasn't a reboot. Completely different story. I love.the 1st. And appreciated this too. My next Crow is the resurrection of Iris Shaw as anyone can be one THE CROW.

If it's not a reboot, what is it then?
It's not titled "The Crow 5," so it's not a sequel, and it's certainly not a prequel. Let's get those two out of the way first.
If they had copied the story one-for-one, it would have been a remake, and I appreciate them not doing that since the original is still great.
To be honest, when I made the video, I also thought: is this a reboot or not? Because it combines elements of a remake (same characters, but not all of them) and adds new elements and ideas as if it were a sequel, while also relying on the same premise as the originals.
From my point of view, I think "reboot" is still the most accurate description.
Hope you enjoyed the video, and thanks for commenting.

I did not watch this remake, but i heard lot of people hating, and by the way the person that its mocked & despised the most its Alex proyas the director of the original, he say that unlike other unnecessary movies remade , the crow should never be made, hell the director in this reboot its rupert sanders the guy who slept with kristen Stewart in snow white, i mean the guy basicaly dosent has a fanbase compare to proyas

It wasn't a good movie and missed the point of the story. The major reason why it was remade in the first place is because of the 30th anniversary, but the production of the original had so much more "history" surrounding it. Honestly, it was kinda pointless and comes across as nothing more than a cash-grab.
Proyas is right. His original movie had a very unique style and a creative blend of colors-or lack thereof-whereas Rupert's movie was just a modern day, run-of-the-mill action movie; quality production, bad/ non-sensical writing, and boring directing.
Rupert Sanders isn't a very creative or inventive director. He has so many shots of Bill Skarsgard walking down a dark street, road, or hallway by his lonesom with the camera pointing directly at him. The movie is boring to watch and forgettable.
Anyways, what have you been up to? I hope you've been doing well?

It's important to focus your attention and time on things you enjoy and to be productive rather than wasting your time and energy on things that make you miserable, especially when it comes to things you can't easily influence or control, like politics.
