Good job with these examples. Nice new camera too! It's finally Spring time, and we get that extra hour of sunlight for the evenings. Let the arrows fly!
+Diggs5012 I hear you there, Diggs! It is going to be great to start shooting every day after work again, rather than having it reserved only for weekends. Have a great start to your spring/summer season!
It was suggested to me once upon a time that I think of holding the bow rather than gripping it. I changed the way and tightness that I was holding it and my shooting improved. I like the looks of your quiver, was it custom made?
+bowman321123 The quiver was custom made from Hidehandler.com. It is the Medium-Hill backquiver, with the pocket with antler button. It also has the 3-piece harness. Check the site out - best leathersmith we've found to date.
Hey Joe, was wondering you talk about your spine angle and keeping it the same every time,I agree but it seems when I crouch my spine foward I can't use proper back tension like I can when I keep my spine straight when I crouch foward my chest is collasped and I can't engage my back tension muscles properly how do you overcome that any info would be appreciated. thanks great video
+Chris Spinks Chris - that is the one downfall of the crouch - it is much harder to achieve back tension if it isn't done correctly. Likely, you are bending your back slightly, which rolls your shoulders forward (making BT impossible), vs. bending at the waist and keeping your back straight. To learn the proper form, stand straight up in your "target" form, pretend to draw the bow, which will properly engage your back-tension. At full draw with your BT engaged, bend at the waist, keeping your back straight which maintains the BT. Practice this a few times, and you'll feel how to crouch properly. Let me know if you still struggle achieving BT after practicing this and we can message directly to get things working properly. Cheers~
Joe can you guys maybe speak about back tension. I am struggling with achieving proper tension angry work on it all the time.Would love to hear your thoughts. thanks
+Dave Nash I can take a stab at it. There is a lot of great content out there already on the topic of back tension (especially Wolfie - great video on it), but I can try to pull something together in the next week or two before hunting starts.
Sorry there is no benefit in crouching to shoot Go to any top tier shoot and you will see Your shooting stance is right out of Asbells book and he's wrecked more shooters than helped them Sorry to be negative and if you would like I will erase this Post this on any forum with good shooters and they will tear this apart ..... Sorry
+Joe Paranee Here is the link to the video I posted on the benefits of "the crouch". ua-cam.com/video/4QB2ekchYPA/v-deo.html Hope that helps explain the pros of this method.
Thank you Joe
