The typical fan will notice his shot and skating. But if you're a hockey feind, you'll notice his deception and his ability to out leverage his opponents in close and in space. His mind is just as dangerous as his physical skills. His defensive prowess is actually on par with his offensive prowess I'd argue. If you have time to watch his shifts throughout this past year I'd encourage it! Kid has the potential to become our best defenseman in the coming years. Could well be in for a surprise out of training camp this year.
I don’t think he is even gonna be at training camp and preseason since it’s already decided he’s going back to Sweden for another year, but I agree definitely has the potential to be franchise Dman.
This! Something else as well is how seamless his hands + feet deception are. That's how the best players in the game today are so dominant. There are simply few in the game with the brain/hands/feet working all together like ASP's. His reaction time (or even his hand-eye to break it down a bit) is sublime and is a byproduct of the three aforementioned skillsets all working together. Not many like him in the prospect world these days I was happy to watch his defensive shortcomings improve over this season and there is no reason to believe he won't continue to build on that with another year in Skelleftea Even Cale Makar and Adam Fox each had at least two years post draft before NHL action. Cannot wait for ASP to showcase his talent. I genuinely believe his ceiling is extremely high and many are not aware of his immense talent yet... But will soon in just over a year's time
Do you think he has a good chance of making the team out of camp??.. because this is what it seems that Steve Yzerman is looking towards..n I think we have at least two players make it.. I think we probably keep Berggren as well
@@thewizardofoz511he will play another year in the SHL for sure. MBN is going to be playing with him this year so it will be fun to watch them dominate that league together.
@@jaredsayers1875 so who do you feel has a good chance of making the team this year though lol.. I need some type of validation for the lack of moves Stevie is making.. I'm trying to see if a player or two has a good chance of making the team.. I feel Berggren should ..
Sneaky player with great vision and shot. Adjusting to the physicality and lack of space in NA will be a challenge but if he can adapt he's going to be very good for the Wings.

@@barneyblue7355 yeah you're probably right. Seems like a set in stone kind of thing. Him and mbn playing in skelleftea together would be beneficial.

Can't wait for this kid to join the line up!
We will see him in 2030 when petey retires
A beast for sure! Makes the Hronek trade well worth it!
Next Cale Makar!
I. Can’t. Wait.
This is why Stevie didn't go all out in Free Agency 😉
You see a potential Norris winner here, Carnak?
I'd argue that's an NHL release already.. he's only gonna get better too 😊
He’s got an elite release and elite edges. His hesitation move and ability to walk the blueline is top notch.

@@thewizardofoz511 pending trades: Berggren, Johansson, 1 if not both of Kasper and Mazur, and possibly Danielson have good chances to make the team.
He’s dangerous mid range
Kid is Elite no doubt !
He will be joined by Nygaard coming season.

Jesus Christ! Get this Snipe Show up to the Bigs already Steven! Shit! 😂
Not to pressure the guy, but we really need him to hit his ceiling. We're not winning the lottery anytime soon.

Only in pp 😅
Right now he is projected to be running PP1
