  • Jahorina is a mountain in Bosnia and Herzegovina that belongs to the Dinaric mountain system. The highest peak is Ogorjelica with 1,916 m above sea level. In summer it is covered with dense green grass, and in winter and up to 3 m high snow. Jahorina extends from 43 ° 39 'to 43 ° 47' north latitude and from 18 ° 31 'to 18 ° 43 east longitude.
    The extraordinary configuration of the terrain, the abundance of high-quality snow, the perfect climate, 20 km of Alpine disciplines as well as the gentle slopes (Rajska dolina) have included this mountain among the most beautiful and famous ski-centers. The average number of days with snow cover on Jahorina is 175, from October to the end of May. The 10-year average snow cover height in February is 106 cm.
    At the fourteen Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Alpine disciplines were held in Jahorina for women.
    Jahorina is 30 km from Sarajevo and 15 km from Pale.
