Your shift along is beautiful. You can put your favorite color to wear under it!

I enjoyed this WIPdown! I personally do a "Frog or Finish" challenge at the end of each year, and honestly ripping out old things that I'm no longer enthusiastic about feels SO GOOD! It's scary before you do it, but then it feels super liberating. So I highly recommend frogging things you don't love anymore, like your Framed, that mohair colourwork one, the Tshirt you don't like the colour of...
PS I'm not sure if you've thought about this, but I noticed that a lot of the garments you lost steam on are bottom-up, so that might be a factor! 🤷🏼‍♀ It would be for me too...
I been enjoying your podcast for awhile by the way! 🥰

I've got a BINGO card with my WIPS and ideas on it. It's got everything from "Currently knitting this sweater" to "Use deep stash yarn" so I'm hitting BINGO in multiple ways

Thanks for the bonus episode! For your Tolsta, two things: 1. Have you knit it before?? Or have you knit another tank before? If so, lay it on top of your wip and see how they compare. 2. Use what you’ve knit so far as your gauge swatch. See how close you are. Hope it works out! The yarns together are beautiful.

When I get stuck, I organize from closest to completion, to furthest to completion. And then I tell myself I can't start a new one, until I finish an old one. Barring gifts, which are different. Sometimes for bigger projects, I set a smaller goal, instead of the whole thing before I switch. But I get overwhelmed if I have more than like 3 at a time.

Love the WIPdown! Something you could do for the items you dont like anymore (like the Shiftigan) you could always sell it with the rest of the yarn, someone would purchase it and finish it off! and you wouldnt have to feel like you have to keep something you dont enjoy, and you dont have to work on it anymore! Win WIn! Personally, those colors are some of my favorites! Its so beautiful to me! Love all the WIPS. I cant wait to see what you decide to finish this year, and obviously, to see all of the objects in the future! I know you'll finish them eventually! lol

I loved seeing all of your WIPs, it's so much fun to see all the different patterns. If you don't think you'll like the Framed pattern on you, I would just rip it out. It's beautiful yarn and I am sure there's a perfect pattern for it 🙂What about LUPIN sweater by Hanne Rimmen? I know a lot of people love Jennifer Steingass patterns and I’ve heard amazing things about Goldwing :) I also like Manou from Isabell Kramer. I hope that you have an amazing weekend!

Yay! It’s a Thanksgiving present. When you mentioned the possibility of doing this video on your last podcast, I was inspired and went through my own WIPs and got organized (and even frogged one!).
Also, the Oregon Coast is my happy place! I spent many a summer vacation growing up on the southern coast. I hope your family enjoys your away from home holiday!

I frogged one as well! I haven’t been to the Oregon coast since I was five years old so I’m excited to go back!

Chelsea …… the cardigan/ shift again, looks good, you put a lot of work into already. Sleeves won’t take that long. You know you can even change the background color on one or both sleeves, different colors for a block color effect kind of! I think it would be kind of a fun thing to do, give it a new feel. Love your WIPS! Get going you can do it! Faithful follower ❤

My thoughts: I'm with you - I wasn't excited about the Frame sweater. I wouldn't knit it. I see it on others and think it looks good but I can't visualize it on me. The blue vest/sweater: sorry, but I do think it looks too big for you. Musselburgh would be a good airplane knitting project - small, easy to carry around etc. Bravo to you for going through all your WIPS - I have quite a few as well, and every once in a while I have to look at them and decide if there is value in keeping them tucked away in a project bag.

I was so happy to find this today. I have been in the same boat and think I might finally have my WIPs pared down to something more reasonable. Going to work very hard to resist casting on anything new before January. We can do hard things 😂

Enjoyed watching you go thru your WIPS. You might want to consider using your Row One minis by making a giant magic ball with them (there's a trick to get the knot to not come undone....just watch a video CLOSELY to get it right). I did that and made a striped blanket using a 'half double crochet thru the back loop only' -it makes a lovely dense fabric you might like. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays.

Wips make me crazy. Anything that falls off my active WIP list (generally temperature blanket and maybe 2 other items), if it sits in hibernation for more than 6 months I end up frogging it. I can’t stand piles of unfinished items.
Love the shiftigan! Looked it up online - it looks like the sleeves are really really narrow. After seeing yours was thinking I might give it a shot, but seeing the sleeves probably not. Will watch your progress to see how the sleeves come out.

I agree about the framed. I'm not in love with the one I cast on. I think I'm gonna frog mine too

Love to have a plan! And it sounds like you have a good one. There are a lot of sweaters in your WIPs and they take a bit longer. Best wishes on finishing items!!
I usually hibernate my WIPs during November and December to finish holiday gifts.
Have you watched Karma's a Stitch? She is doing a WIP roundup so she can finish a few more items in 2024. It's about 10 minutes a day because she chooses a WIP, works on it for a day and decides Finish or Frog.

I watched first thing this morning, went for my walk, and thought about your wip down. First it sounds like you have made the decision to frog a couple of projects. I say do them asap. Done and dusted. Never having to revisit is awesome.
All colors are wonderful, but if you aren’t going to wear the garment why finish it? Good luck. Finish what you love. Kelly

I frogged the Framed sweater right after filming and now I’ve just got to decide what to make with the yarn.

The Cozy Cottage Crochet has a tutorial for a crochet corner to corner crochet as you go. It would be perfect for your minis.

I'm glad you are going to finish that cowl. The colors are beautiful. Also, I find that Isager mohair is the absolute softest, if you haven't tried it yet. Happy Thanksgiving! Are you going to VKL in NYC?

    • @sundayknittingsociety7245
      @sundayknittingsociety7245  5 днів тому

I have tried Isager mohair. It’s definitely soft but I still find mohair to be itchy. I’d love to go to VKL but I’m not sure I’ll have enough PTO. 😬

I would use your main color as a cable cardi and change your main color to a chocolate brown or black and decrease the number of patter row repeats to the top of the sweater maybe because you do not want all over pattern

Hi Chelsea! Happy Thanksgiving. I’m the first one to watch! ❤. Why not wet block your Cinderella Tolsta to check the dimensions?

Sounds like you need a list that you can prioritize, with this year's gifts listed first. Then re-watch this video and write down all of the reasons you didn't like certain projects (no gray or grayish yellow, no plain stockinette, etc.) and don't start another project that has those dislikes. Also, would you be happier if certain yarns became a different project? Enough to finish it? If you added stripes instead of solid stockinette, would your tolsta work? And then make a rule: no new cast-on until you finish or frog one thing. Sorry...I just had my own wipdown 😅 these were my new rules for myself. It's mostly working.

I think I’ve already failed pretty badly at these suggestions 😂. I did frog one item, but I cast on another one already.

How about instead of a goal, just grab one UFO and knit 30 min a day. You can do just one project or change it everyday. I love your enthusiasm regardless! Happy Thanksgiving!

I think your problem on the blue tank is your guilt over not making a gauge swatch.

  • @vickifenlon2235

Put the numbers 1 thru 14 or how ever many WIPs you have. Pick a number and do that one to the finish. Then pick another number….
