Collin McNaught soon enough those same people will be the reason there will be no more oval racing, it's a shame cause auto Club a few years back was one of the best races ever in my mind
Nelum Lucere It's racing dude, it is supposed to be dangerous. Besides ovals are a part of IndyCar history. If you don't like it then go watch baseball or tennis.
InvisibleTeeth much more injuries/fatalities at super speedways. That was, I think, their point. Don't get me wrong, I love the racing and excitement but seeing your favorite drivers getting hurt kinda takes the fun away.
Dann. That first hit was bad enough, but that second hit was the killer. By that point, there's nothing else on that side of the car to help disperse energy.
I never liked Ryan as much I used to, but this scared the crap out of me. I legit screamed at the top of my lungs when this happened. Glad he was ok to race.
Look how many died in Indy 500s for years and they still ran and run the race. NASCAR had fatalities as well for a long time until 2001. Fatalities can still happen but are very very rare anymore. Indycar didn't race at pocono for a long time from the 80s until 4 years ago.
Pocono is not too dangerous for Indycar. One freak accident (Wilson) and suddenly everyone thinks it's the damn Nordschlieife.
I never liked Indycar on high speed ovals. There's always this feeling of danger in Pocono and Texas

Everyone likes to blame Pocono/big ovals on Wilson's death and conveniently forgets Henry Surtees was killed the exact same way at Brands Hatch

This is the first incident that I've seen where the effectiveness of those rear flaps have actually made a noticeable difference

Racing is dangerous people, news at 11! *rolleyes*

I saw that yesterday during qualifying it happened live right in front of me
Now that was a hit, even the hit on the inside wall was pretty hard
Reminds me of Scott Brayton's crash
I hope it's not a broken hip.. if it is though, I should race the 28 car
Those cars' sidepods are too small and absorb little of side impacts. Fortunately, the 2018 is great in that department.
what is up with indy and Pocono
Did anyone get this from David Land...ANYONE
I got a Peace of his car
cole albert: Did it hurt when you caught it?
piece
No it went over the fence and I went under the grandstand to get to the grass and get it
cole albert: Now you have a piece of his car to show your friends when you get back to school. 😃
Yep next year I am going back and maybe he can autograph it for me
I hope he's okay.
Tony Green: KyleLarsonFTWBradKeselowskiFTL
he was taken to a local hospital
...oval racing open wheel cars has got to be the dumbest idea on the planet...oh wait the Indy 500 is an open wheel car oval race
Hey, I was there right when it happened and got the video from the fan's view, check out the video on my channel!!!!
A ton of hard wreaks in just qualifying. I couldn't imagine the actual race.
few years ago there were only 9 cars that finished, i think
HalcyonX _ Agreed
HalcyonX _ Qualy might actually be worse, they're pushing 100% all the time and going faster
HalcyonX _ yeah the race should be better (unless another texas fiasco happens) because the cars run higher downforce than qualifying
POCONO IS TOO DANGEROUS PLEASE STOP RACING THERE
That Isle of Man race is pretty cool though
So many crashes.Pocono is so dangerous circuit
For indy car, yes
please don't race at Pocono anymore
Griffin Mundell Bring them back to Michigan, Chicago and even Charlotte. Heck, go back to Atlanta too.
Jonathan Zygmunt Idiot. Those tracks are far more dangerous than Pocono is.
Collin McNaught Obviously you don't understand sarcasm.
Collin McNaught
definitely
