I love how he and Matthew Broderick are in Lion King and The Producers. It just...every time I see either one of those movies, it reminds me of the other, haha.
Hearing this man brings back happy childhood memories. Eating a bowl of cereal in front of the TV on a Saturday morning, I hadn't a care in the world (apart from the typical playground conflicts), and TLK was my all time favorite movie. God, I miss the 90's!
I was so Shocked when I found out that this guy played Pepper in Modern Family was Timon in the Lion King. And he didn't have to do a voice, this is his actual voice!!!
I just love this guy! Timon is one of my fave characters, and I just love him! :D I'm glad Timon and Pumbaa were in the film; it needed that comic relief.
As the voice of that tiny, little known animal, he really stole the show. Nathan Lane is an incredible talent alright. The screenplay I am tweaking started out as a comedy, but really grew into a serious drama. While I know of Nathan mainly from humorous roles, I could totally see him as the hard boiled father (who I really envisioned as Detective Munch, from Law and Order.)
AWWWW Nathan Lane you are truly a handsome funny guy. I love Nathan Lane so much. He was so good in The Producers as Max Baialystock. I love you Nathan Darling. Keep being funny and never stop broadway.
i feel like it's always underappreciated how much Timon and Pumbaa mean to the Lion King. here you are, and emotionally wrecked child: you saw Simba's life in danger, his dad dies after having a heart to heart a few scenes ago, Simba cries in agony, he cries for help, he cries in despair. now you're just as done, and dried up from all the spent tears, as he is lying there about to die himself and in come the cavalry of comic relief to pick you right back up
OMG!!! To think Nathan Lane was gunna be the hyenas! O_o Disney made the RIGHT choice in making Nathan Timon! One of the most memorable character's on DISNEY HISTORY!! PERIOD.
@@rileyjones3703 In the interview with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick for one of the newer DVD versions, Nathan confirmed he only auditioned for the hyenas, not Zazu. That was very interesting watching them look back on the Lion King. :) You can find it here on UA-cam - extended interview with Nathan and Matthew.
I remember an interview Nathan did when he was appearing in Angels in America and one of his fellow cast members introduced his parents to him and they asked "Was he Pumba or Timon?" Even after seeing him in a seven-hour, angst-ridden epic play about God, AIDS and life & death, this was what they remembered him for.
The fun fact is that Timon and Pumbaa are voiced by two flemish actors in the dutch version of the film! They were the two only characters voiced by Belgian actors, who could continue doing the job thanks to the popularity of the characters!
“All the animators wanted to work on Pocahontas.. apparently.” aged like the finest wine 😅 Surely both films are golden, but.. c’mon. The Lion King just checks every box.
Lie down before you hurt yourself. What do you want me to do? Dress in drag and do the hula? ROFL! Timon is one of my favorite characters when I was a kid. He poked me in the chest during The Lion King parade @ Disneyland.
@jvfunn3000 June 1995, my dad gave me the vhs for my 6th birthday (still have it, still watch it). your're right, great childhood memories. being a 90s kid was SWEET.
thats the darkest they've been since bambi.... goes back and watches bambi again dang i remembered bambi as a cute movie.... then again i probably fastforwarded through the bad bits.....
@creaturelover I dont think it just destoyed pochantas b/c both are considered classic and very well known. I like both features myself and feel very proud to have grown up w/them.
LOL. I love Nathan Lane so much. He is my love forever and ever. I loved him as Max BialyStock fro the Producers and I love Nathan in MouseHunt. I love his singing to. You are the bestest actor in the world Nathan Lane. I love you so much honey. Your The Wind Beaneath My Wings.
@naly202 Thats a matter of opinion I suppose. Both Are really great and have good morals and storytelling to them. it was just sad that people were taking one more seriously than the other at that time.
@@hollypietrzak5214 Yes he was actually big on Broadway in the early 90's then it led him to Timon and The Birdcage with more movies after those. The early 2000s was more like a Broadway comeback, then he started doing more drama on TV in recent years. Now he's on the new Penny Dreadful.
I love Nathan Lane!!! He's such an AMAZING performer full of spunk and attitude!! ❤️❤️❤️🎉
This guy is great. I think he deserves an Oscar.
I agree!
He’s never got one ?
The first time I recognized who this guy was , was when i watched mouse hunt
He is amazing in The Birdcage. He and Robin Williams worked so well together in that
I love how he and Matthew Broderick are in Lion King and The Producers. It just...every time I see either one of those movies, it reminds me of the other, haha.
And Ernie Sabella's in a deleted scene

+Tierney Phillips he was meant for TIMON!!!
I love him so much! When I hear him talk, I hear Timon!!!
Nathan was with Lion King from the beginning.
Why doesn't billy crystal voice timon in lion guard or lion king 4
Because Billy Crystal Is Too Busy Voicing Mike Wasowski In Monsters Movies And Series As Well.
thank u for giving us Timon
Am i the only one who would love to see their audition film?
Nathan Lane is versatile. He is now starring on the Showtime series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels as a detective. Great dramatic acting.
Now, he’s in Only Murders In The Building 😃
Wow that scar impression was perfect!!! Haha I like how he says that Disney has never done something that dark since Bambi lolol!!
Nathan lane is the perfect for the voice of timon :)
I just love this guy! Timon is one of my fave characters, and I just love him! :D I'm glad Timon and Pumbaa were in the film; it needed that comic relief.
The funny thing is when he talks about Ernie I think about him in mousehunt because he plays a character named Ernie in that movie.
+dolphinsatsunset1 random fact the man who plays morty, the one who sells them catzilla actually voiced pumba! in case you didn't know

A very talented guy especially in the movie Birdcage. Loved that film.
2:20 That Jeremy Irons impression though 🤣🤣🤣
He was great voicing timon in the lion king.
It's so funny that everyone wanted to work on pocahontas while lion king was far better and more successful.
AWWWW Nathan Lane you are truly a handsome funny guy. I love Nathan Lane so much. He was so good in The Producers as Max Baialystock. I love you Nathan Darling. Keep being funny and never stop broadway.
Mufasa's death still makes me cry.
it's nice to see him being himself :) i've never actually seen a behind-the-scenes thing with Nathan Lane... :)
*arrrrree ya achin'!
yup yup yup!
fooooorr some bacon'!
yup yup yup!*
You know Nathan Lane won 2 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Performer In An Animated Program for his work on Timon & Pumbaa and Teacher's Pet.
This kind guy kind of reminds of the voice actor who voiced king Julien a little?
He is great! The Lion King is my favourite movie of all time!!!
Nathan Lane is awesome!! He was a huge part of The Lion King!!!
when i hear his voice i hear timon!
i recognised his voice from modern family
Yep. He definitely hammed it up and added some nasally gruff tone to timon but essentially Timon has his voice
I remember him as Snowbell from the Stuart Little series. He got replaced somehow later on. He is the only Snowbell
This is one of the few actors who talk exactly like the characters they voice
He speaks Timon's language, because he's the voice actor behind Timon. I downloaded his photo to my "Voice actors" folder from the computer.
i feel like it's always underappreciated how much Timon and Pumbaa mean to the Lion King.

Nathan lane is brilliant
It's so weird hearing Timone's voice xD
OMG!!! To think Nathan Lane was gunna be the hyenas! O_o

He originally auditioned for Zazu before that too I read.

I just almost cryed over the film just now.
EVERTHING! this guy has been in has been just simply marvellous!❤️
" Finally, a game system for me! " - Nathan Lane/Jontron
“All the animators wanted to work on Pocahontas.. apparently.” aged like the finest wine 😅 Surely both films are golden, but.. c’mon. The Lion King just checks every box.
Also, he did the amazing white cat called Snowbell.
he was great as timon, just like Irons was great as Scar and Atkinson was great as Zazu. Those 3 stole the show !
Lie down before you hurt yourself. What do you want me to do? Dress in drag and do the hula? ROFL! Timon is one of my favorite characters when I was a kid. He poked me in the chest during The Lion King parade @ Disneyland.
When was this interview recorded???
His voice sounds the same!
he even sounds like timon in real life.
I love Mouse hunt. Favorite childhood movie ever
Love, love, love this beautiful man🥰
GRANDE. ATOR ! EU. AMO. .SIMPLISMENTE. MARAVILHOSO !!
Nathan playing Timon sounds so much like Max Casella playing Daxter!! so cool!
Like him on The Lion King, The Producers, The Birdcage, Addams Family Values and Mouse Hunt
He also voiced B. F. Skinny in JumpStart 5th Grade: Jo Hammet, Kid Detective as well.
his voice is perfect as a narrator :DD
He's adorable!❣
Hey! What' going on here?
Who read this in Timon's voice?
Lane sounds like his other character Preed from "Titan A.E." when he impersonates Jeremy Irons at 2:20.
Nathan Lane Voice Of Timon from Disney's The Lion King Trilogy
I LOVE NATHAN LANE!!!
I woulda liked it if Nathan Lane would reprise his role as Timon in the 2019 live action Lion King. But instead Disney got Billy Eichner
I adore Nathan Lane, he is absolutely adorable. Wondering if he's staring in the new live action movie?
Billy Eichner is taking the role
Valentina Merlini FUCK
incredible. He's got the same voice like ilja richter in the german lion king version.:)
I think I saw him on Muppets Letters to Santa and I was like: Call me crazy but Timon is in a Muppet Movie???
He’s ADORABLE! Love everything he does - I could just sit and listen to him read me a recipe 😂

It's wierd, I thought Timone was Billy Crystal for years. They sound so much alike when doing voice-overs.
nathan lane also played on mouse hunt :D another great movie lol
Hakuna Matata!!!
he's brilliant! ^^
@creaturelover I dont think it just destoyed pochantas b/c both are considered classic and very well known. I like both features myself and feel very proud to have grown up w/them.
@mermaidamp: I don't know. I just love those witty sarcastic characters. They make me laugh and his voice is just perfect.
@VerseJer333
why use quotes ? are you implying it Does make sense ?
who the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck would dislike this!
. .whooaaa!!!this is really timon. .
@Andrea Patane He is also the voice of Preed from Titan A.E.
Played a great Rosencrantz. Or was it Guildenstern?
lol love this guy in (mouse hunt) that film is always soo funny
omg~ and to think that i wouldnt recognise his character cuz i didnt know who he was!!!
I guess Timon and Pumbaa were Rosencrantz and Guildenstern if a Shakespearean theme of Hamlet could be superimposed on The Lion King.
Lion King is the best disney movie HANDS DOWN.
Nathan Lane is a genius! XD
He was actually good in The Birdcage.
in 2003 i was looking at lion king with my friends until my friend said Nathan Lane is gay i was so shock when they told me that
Yeah, I literally cannot see that. I mean, I believe it, but I can't see it, lol.
LOL he ALWAYS sounds like timon
I'm here, because I do voices pretty well. I want to be a voice actress if I wasn't hired by the school districts as a para AKA TA.
That impersonation of Jeremy Irons as Scar was a little too awesome.
Right!!!??
wow. this is TIMON. i recognised him after the first word he said !
lion king is a great movie, much better than pocahontas imao.
how?
They were called back after 3-4 mos? Damn.
Nathan lane won an emmy award for his role timon back in 1996?
Come to think of it, Lion KIng would actually be quite dark and depressing without Timon and Pumbaa...
timon!!
SNOWBALL AND TIMON! (Stuart Little and The Lion King)
They both got the same director: Rob Minkoff!
Pepper Saltzman!
Nathan lane voicing Timon is kind of like Danny Jacobs voicing king Julien a little?
@naly202 Thats a matter of opinion I suppose. Both Are really great and have good morals and storytelling to them. it was just sad that people were taking one more seriously than the other at that time.
Hey I didn't know JonTron was in The Lion King
I pierced the toast!
IM HERE BECAUSE GAME GRUMPS and cus Jontron sounds like this guy XD
Nathan lane is former voice actor now?
Yes. He is now playing one of the lead roles on the Showtime series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. Love his dramatic acting.
Jules he was big the mid 90s and early 2000s decade more?

Jules yup?
