- An IL-2 Great Battles Ironman career in the Hawker Hurricane on the Eastern Front.
I'm using Pat Wilson's Campaign Generator for the career management and mission generation. It can be found here: forum.il2sturmovik.com/forum/...

*Dead on smacks a friendly position*
"I'll pretend I didn't see that"
Love these bits, especially the in character narratives for your series!
Always love watching these. Look forward to the notification an IL-2 gets posted. Can't play this game myself, I don't have the right setup. So I sorta' do it vicariously through these videos. I've tried watching other people play the campaign generators, but none have commentary just like yours and I can't get into it the same way. Also the narrative aspect you add is icing on the cake.
These are the missions that need more focus. Landing that well being that damaged was a cracking show, dear boy.
There were some exhilarating, key moments here when I could have sworn I was listening to a desperate, seething Maj. Wallace rather than Dave, trying to help his mates and pull the situation out of the fire. Brilliant stuff!
Some major cockups by the "Major" a friendly fire incident, hanging around a bombed position and kinda ran off and let your mates fend for themselves. He made some good choices baiting in those 109's though might get him less of a railing from his superiors. Enjoying the series and the roleplaying!
Absolutely loving this series Dave. Your enthusiasm for the subject matter is a joy to see!
I love these intros so much. I think the IL-2 playthroughs are my favorite content of yours.
That was probably more realistic than you think. Awesome. Loved it 👍✌️☮️
I just realised we won't see one of my favourite aircraft in this campaign. The Yak-9 doesn't start doing things till a year later.
Yep, the Yak-9 is mid to late Stalingrad. If Dave is particularly successful he could get there. Although the hurricanes were withdrawn from that theater fairly early.
Thanks for this series, Dave, the storytelling is particularly engaging.
I suppose at the end of the war there'll be a nice smart portrait of James Wallace hanging on the wall in the commander's office and the caption will be "Британский герой Советского Союза -- ДЖЕЙМС УОЛЛЕС" or however that's spelt in the Cyrillic script, hehehaha.
"The mechanics were not at all happy with the state of the aircraft after the last mission, some even had the gall to suggest that they might do a better job of bringing them home in one piece... maybe we should think about allowing them to join the squadrons and prove it seeing as our pilot numbers are getting a little... thin."
Really enjoying this series!
No wonder it was hard to control, your right aileron is more hole than substance lmao
Friendlies in the sandbag position seeing a Hurricane drop a bomb directly on them: 👁️👄👁️
The one version of the Hurricane, I wish would of had one survivor to be put in a museum is the CAM catapult Sea Hurricanes that was launched off of the 6 CAM ships. But hard to keep one intact when the only way to land was either to bail out or to ditch after a launch.
Well, those Hurricanes really are tough old birds...
Same goes for R.A.F. pilots, apparently.... Jolly good show old chap...
What a cracker of an episode! Top hole.
It appears that you're misreading the debrief page. When you are reading about the Sd.Kfz. 222 and the Pz. IV it reads that you damaged them but you read it as they damaged you. You did the same thing when reading about Ltn Arndt Hecht, where once again it reads that you damaged him but you read it as him damaging you. Interestingly, you only misread them when they were involving you and read them correctly when they were about allies or flight mates. Perhaps you were too pessimistic about your own performance in this mission that you didn't expect to see that you had damaged anything.
I wonder if you could find your way into a Sea Hurricane MK IC, the Royal Navy's version with 4 Hispanos.
The Ic isn't modeled. There is a 4 Hispano Canon variant that is a lot of fun but is ahistoric for Russia.
The good news is Russia field modded their planes with 2 20mm and 2 12.7mm instead of the 12 .303s. I just don't know when that happened.
those aren't holes, its "in air weight reduction" Makes the plane go faster by removing metal. LOL
Hey Dave, can we see your pwcg settings? I'm not sure how to set it up for the best experience
I have all the basic settings on medium, except for structures, which is on low. I haven't touched anything other than that as far as I can recall :)
@@SorcererDave ahh thank you!
I think on a few of them you read they damaged you, but you actually damaged two planes.
Good one...... but
haha just as bad as me mate
