@@cellamuertit's a Nice cultural adaptation, in japan the "thanks You" it's more than enough to convey that emotion, but in other latitudes ot would be too "cold" for The moment, so the "i love You" fits perfectly with the west
@@diegosotomiranda4107 hmm i guess to me "thank you" is a common acknowledgement to a random stranger i interact with. "i love you" carries so much more to it, and i don't feel like you have to live in a particular place to think that? but i could be very wrong there. similar to me to the gondola scene in rebirth *spoiler* like the "not good" tifa version is still a nice gesture of course, but is that really the feeling we want to have compared to what the correct version delivers?
I'm a 43 years old family father and still this scene makes me cry like it did back in 2001. Damn, right in the feels. Square, you did an amazing job, a very emotional journey to save the world, created Zanarkand. Thank you so much for the experience.
Bro, I am a 81er, too. And once every 2 or 3 years I revisit this scene, cry a bit and get it out of my system. I have been doing this for like the last 20 years. This scene is peak emotional gaming history. The scene is perfect down to the smallest details: Yuna always chose duty over her own needs and desires. And in this scene, when Titus turns away from her, you can see how torn she is, between doing nothing and doing something, knowing that the moment to do something will slip away very soon. And then she decides to do this single, small, selfish act of wanting to hug him one last time, and everyone watching it wants it, too. And then the colossol, cosmic unfairnes hits you as hard as Yuna hits the ground. And when they show the closeup of her face, you see her defeated, she doesn't even have the strength left to cry, there are no tears, no emotions. When she collects herself, the japanese and internationl versions famously differ, but both deliver and succeed in their very own way: in japanese she says "Arigatou", ie "Thank You", thus commenting on everything she and Titus have experienced and done together, be it professional or personal. And internationally she says "I love you", which hits closer to the heart.
I was finishing the game yesterday and paused it just before this scene, invited my wife to come and watch it with me but she didn't want to... as 36 y.o. man this is the only story in a video game that touches me to the point I am getting tears in my eyes at moment when Yuna stands up and says "I love you" to Tidus, whom she never said that before. The scene that will remain in my memory forever.
For real man,i never forget this game since it's release. And here i am again playing the game that once broke my heart since my teenager days! FFX is the only game that made my emotion goes rollercoaster
I'm a 66 year old man and have been playing this game since it first came out over 24 years ago. And I cry like a baby every time at the ending. I know that sounds weird but it really is a sad story. And to me I immerse in it like it's real life. I'm not sure what that says about me, And I don't really care.
What makes this SO SO special. The Music. Nobuo Uematsu is such a freaking God. Words can't explain HOW good this Man really is. Even without the Music this would be sad, but the Music is what destroyes everybody. I never saw somebody that played the Game and diden't droped at least one Tear.
I played this game for the first time like two years back *during lockdown*, and it just lingers in my mind, emotional masterpiece and I love the themes it deals with, the aspect of dreams/memories and dealing with grief, just something about it is timeless and you get so attached to the characters. Also, I think there is a certain quality to Spira that makes it very unique, the tropical fantasy hues with an ethereal atmosphere at certain parts, the bygone of that ps2 era of jrpg which is hard to recreate nowadays. Love it for the same reason I love Majora's Mask
"The true love, we take with us". And this ending shows it. Even dead, Tidus spirit conected whit the one he loved, and at the other side he found his father. This is not the true what happens when you die in the real life, you know? The person rests when it dies in the real life, but even knowing I will rest, I just wanted to live Tidus's story.👀
Im completing a playthrough for like, the 15th time, and.i swear, this ending is the only thing that gets me crying like a baby. FF10'S story is probably one of the greatest love stories in the history of gaming.

I kinda see this cutscene as the true end of an era for Final Fantasy yes FF9 is a celebration with the references and a fantasy world, not urban fantasy but this scene really feels like the end of everything we've been through as Tidus leaving as it all began with defeating Garland who kidnapped Princess Sarah to leaving back to Zanarkand

When Tidus low-fived his Dad at the ending; the game should have ended there from a directorial standpoint. ここのユウナのセリフは最初、日本版の直訳と同じように「thank you」にするつもりだった。
