    Nice..i've seen others that have a female and male adaptor but after watching this I don't think it's needed. Simple and easy...I like that you can make the one base and switch out tops..that is a great idea!! Thanks for the video

    Does any powder ever seep through the filter into the lower air chamber? That would be my only concern for changing out the paint top part

    How easy is it to switch cups? I feel like once u push the filter and cup in it will be hard to take out

    When I turn on the pump, the air that comes out is not very strong..... is that how it should be? Pretty light?

    • @fishingfrenzytv1555
      @fishingfrenzytv1555  7 років тому

      Ya, you don’t want it very strong or it will blow the powder. You want just enough air so when you move the cup back and forth. The powder moves like water

    I'm new to this and need to coat small pieces, this looks to be the way for me to go, I was under the impression there had to be a positive and negative voltage used

    • @fishingfrenzytv1555
      @fishingfrenzytv1555  8 років тому

      Using a fluid bed like this does not require voltage. I think with larger items like truck frames, they use voltage to heat the metal up.

    • @nikpik6877
      @nikpik6877 8 років тому +2

      Standard powder coating on large items requires electrical ions being introduced to the powder paint as it flows out of a "paint gun." The item being painted is electrically grounded and the electrically "charged" paint particles from the gun are then attracted to the grounded item. These fluid beds are used for powder coating using heat, i.e. you simply heat a lead head jig, dip it in the powder paint, and you now have an evenly paint-coated jig head.

    What wattage is on the aquarium pump? I have a choice of 1.5 w or 4 w.

      Tine Schrijvers I do not remember, and the pumps are at the lake right now, so I can’t look. I will tell you that it requires really minimal air, so I’m sure the small one is fine

    Sorry I did not hear the name of the caps you use in the fluid beds. I have had a hard time finding these

    • @fishingfrenzytv1555
      @fishingfrenzytv1555  8 років тому

      At my Home Depot they have these temporary caps for the PVC. I can look on mine and get the skew and you can give that to your Home Depot.

    Simple but if you want you can take a small spoon or a touth pick and stick it in the paint and whisk it around it puts air same thing this thing is doing been pouring jigs for years, not knocking this vid good job building it buddy but for the money he spent that's a lot of money you can use for powder paint

      This is the cheapest fluid beds I have come across. I will say from my experience of painting jigs both ways. It's well worth using a fluid bed. You save paint with a fluid bed. Just my $.02!

      +Team Fat Katz Fishing No problem, Im glad that it worked for you. I was astonished how much easier it made painting jig hears...way more "factory" look too.

    • @teamfatkatzfishing6908
      @teamfatkatzfishing6908 8 років тому

      No doubt they are coming out flawless. can't remember from your vid but are you baking them off to cure or not ? I have not done it yet.

    • @fishingfrenzytv1555
      @fishingfrenzytv1555  8 років тому

      +Team Fat Katz Fishing I didn't talk about it in the video, but yes I bake all of mine. It makes them way more durable. I just hand the hooks off the rack In the oven. Each color requires a different temp and time, so just google a baking chart for whatever brand of paint you are using. Another thing I do now, is find a piece of copper wire the same size as the inside of the eyelet on the hook and as soon as I pull it out off the paint I shove that wire through the eyelet to clear it out. It works perfect and leaves the eyelet super smooth.

      Thanks FishingFrenzyTV. Got it !!!!

    • @nikpik6877
      @nikpik6877 8 років тому

      Have you found that it is necessary to use copper wire, or would another type of wire work just as well? I get the feeling that if I used, say, a stainless steel wire, that something undesired would happen since each guy I've seen do this with the wire uses copper.
