Ken you cooking that steak reminds me of my dad getting that old charcoal grill out starting the grill. Then getting the bearnaise sauce going. It was so good! Me and mom couldn't wait! Usually filet mignon! Baked potato, asparagus. AWESOME. His bday coming up in Nov. He would've been 94. I know the T-bone was delicious butter mushrooms!
When you cook your mushrooms, you should start them off dry cook them in the pan dry. Let them get rid of the moisture before you add butter and then they will absorb the goodness of the butter just saying thanks for what you do.

Actually, thats an OLD Wives Tale.. Cook them in a steam of water and oil, once the oil evaporates, the oil browns them and thye are done to perfection~!

I personally prefer leaving the steak to cook on one side for a longer time and only turn once. This creates a deeper, more caramelized crust, allowing the Maillard reaction (browning) to fully develop on the surface.
Molson Canadian is a huge beer over here 🇮🇪 its everywhere and the boxes look the exact same!
T Bone is the best cut for me.add mushrooms for an amazing meal just missing a couple of sunny side eggs

You should try the “Grill Rescue” grill cleaner brush. You soak it and when the grill is up to temp, the water steams the grime off much better than the scrapers.
Steak looks good, if you’re looking for more of a crust though make sure grill is hotter before putting on and let it develop longer before inderect heat! Wish I had a lakehouse jealous!

I would recommend grilling/searing on the hot side first if u are using the "indirect" cooking method. Let that salt caramelize under the heat to create a crust, then finish on indirect heat to desired temp/wellness.
Steak looks beautiful next time you’re in Peterborough area you need to go to Farm boys they have the best prices for meat you will ever see it’s different than any of the new farm boys

I get t-bone/ribeye for about $8 USD here when it's on special which is often. The regular pricing seems crazy, but if you're paying almost $30 CAD/lb that kind of seems about what it would cost here if it wasn't on special.

I never close the lid and always keep the heat high as possible beneath the steak to get the best sear. This allows you to get it nice and brown on the outside and leave the inside as rare as possible.
Closing the lid and indirect heat bakes the steak.

Ken next time start hot on your grill with the steak, then go indirect. Ribeye comes with a bone on it. You can choose bone or no bone.
Ken, Excellent assessment of the Porterhouse/ T-Bone scale! That, and the Ribeye are my favorite cuts! It’s been so long since I’ve had my steak smothered in mushrooms!

Ken have you ever tried Beef Kidney? It honestly taste almost good as the muscle, but 50 times cheaper. I recently tried it at my Publix and it only cost less than 2 bucks USD for a pound. I got 3 meals out of it and it taste good. Just like beef liver, kidney beef is chopped full of nutrients you dont get in the muscle. You should try it out.
